S’POREAN COUPLE DEPRESS AS BTO NOT “SURE GET” AND NO RICH PARENTS

Staying in Singapore is so depressing for the young people.

Downpayment for a house is a min of 15% and usually requires a down payments of 60 ~ 100k for resale HDB (not to mention other costs)

Usual Singaporeans whose REAL wage after CPF who isn’t blessed with toxic parents and has to pay a 1200 rent for 2 person (married couple) honestly I just can’t afford it.

To those who are curious how much I’m saving, I’m saving 2k each month together with my partner

500 each to our investment savings and 1000 in pure cash savings

Singapore is just a major depression for the young.

Not to mention BTO is nothing but a damn lottery??? We’re paying to see if we win!! ???????????? Just that it’s higher chance than 4D & toto!! ????

I pray that I die at 50. I can’t survive on this horrible nightmare stressing every single day seeing my self turning into a monster that can only scream MONEY!!!

• Rather than complaining, maybe you try to befriend some foreign friends from msia, Indonesia, Thailand who came here to work as a normal local package staff not expat, how they live like nomad on rented room, save, send money home and eventually convert to be a PR to buy a hdb or condo here. Ppty price is always high in first world country, places like Seoul, NY, Tokyo, young ppl not expected to afford to buy a house. The good thing in sg is that, hdb is heavily subsidised and if you don’t mind the travel, you can still get affordable housing. Quit complaining and work your ass off

• Pls think beyond your comfort zone. Go take part time work, give tuition, learn salary upgrading skills, ask for company sponsorship. Learn how to invest in great businesses and be your own captain. Otherwise you’re just a really bad representation of sg’s youth. Complaining and grumbling are only in your vocab.

• Stop complaining. U shd take a look at Malaysia and Indonesia and Thailand. In fact, everywhere. U r lucky to be born here. Wake up and adjust ur mindset!
