MOTORBIKE SHATTERS INTO PIECES AFTER CRASHING INTO TAXI @ PIE, RIDER LANDS ON BARRICADE

0

In a terrifying incident near Changi Airport, a motorcyclist found themselves in a harrowing situation following a collision with a taxi on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE).

The motorcyclist rear-ended the taxi, and the motorcycle then shattered into pieces, with the debris strewn all over the road and the motorcyclist reportedly being flung from the bike and landing on the barricade near the side of the road.

The entire incident was captured by a dashboard camera of a passing vehicle. The video footage, subsequently uploaded to the SG Road Vigilante group on Facebook, revealed the shocking moments leading to the collision.

The Accident

At approximately 2:19 pm on October 24, a blue Comfort taxi was navigating along the PIE. The taxi, presumably in the process of changing lanes, was seen moving between the center and left lanes.

Concurrently, a motorcyclist, dressed in white, was riding along the left side of the road, slightly ahead of the taxi.

As the taxi merged into the left lane, a shattering collision occurred between the taxi and the motorcycle. The impact was so severe that the taxi swerved back into the center lane before coming to a halt on the road shoulder ahead.

The motorcycle shattered into pieces with debris from the collision littered the roadway, and the motorcyclist was ejected from their seat, landing near a road barricade.

At this point, the severity of the motorcyclist’s injuries remained undetermined.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received an alert about the accident at around 2:20 pm on October 24.

They promptly responded, dispatching assistance to the scene. An injured individual was transported to Changi General Hospital for the necessary medical attention.

Investigations Commence

In the aftermath of the accident, investigations were initiated to determine the exact cause and any potential contributing factors to the collision.

CRAZY MAN FOLLOWED ELDERLY CLEANER TO TOILET & WHACKED HIM, ATTACKED 5 OTHERS AS WELL

0

In an alarming incident that unfolded at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25th, several individuals engaged in their morning exercise routine at Punggol Park found themselves under attack, according to Shin Min Daily News.

Followed cleaner into toilet & whacked him

The assailant, a man, reportedly followed a park cleaner into a restroom. When questioned by the cleaner, the man suddenly became aggressive and physically assaulted him.

Shockingly, he didn’t stop there, as he proceeded to attack five other early morning joggers who had attempted to intervene and stop the assault.

The chaotic incident led to the immediate intervention of onlookers who managed to subdue the aggressor until the arrival of the police.

Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement promptly apprehended the assailant. The cleaner, who was subjected to the initial attack, was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment.

Tried to help victim but got attacked as well

Among the victims who were assaulted was 86-year-old Mr Chen, who told SMDN that he started exercising at the park about 3 years ago, when he first met the cleaner.

He said that the cleaner who was attacked, was in his 70s and they used to be strangers, but during an occasion when his bicycle broke, the cleaner helped him fix his bike without even asking, and they became friends and would greet each other whenever they crossed paths in the park.

On the day of the incident, Chen saw the cleaner being attacked and he stepped in and tried to help him, but ended up being assaulted by the man as well.

Rushed to hospital

Singapore’s Civil Defence Force confirmed that they received an emergency report at 8:10 a.m. SCDF personnel promptly arrived at the location, and one of the injured individuals was rushed to Seng Kang General Hospital for medical attention.

This disturbing incident has raised concerns within the local community, as such unprovoked and seemingly random acts of violence are unusual in this peaceful area.

An investigation is underway to determine the motivations behind the attacks and whether there were any underlying factors contributing to this violent outburst.

MASTERMIND OF ONE OF S’PORE’S BIGGEST RENTAL SCAMS, JAILED FOR CHEATING $383K FROM 68 VICTIMS

0

Zeng Xianfu Gibson, a 29-year-old former sales executive at a rental company, has been sentenced to three years and seven months in jail for his involvement in a large-scale rental scam that defrauded 68 victims of nearly S$383,000 (US$280,000). The sentencing was handed down in court on Wednesday, according to The Straits Times.

Zeng pleaded guilty to 23 charges of cheating, while an additional 39 charges were considered in the proceedings.

Background

The court heard that Zeng had been employed as a sales executive at the Singapore Housing Company, specializing in the rental of units in Singapore, between 2018 and 2020.

During his employment, Zeng was tasked with photographing rental units and arranging viewings for potential clients.

However, following his departure from the company, he misused the images he had taken by listing these units on Airbnb, despite lacking the authority or capacity to lease the advertised properties.

To make his fraudulent listings appear legitimate, Zeng supplied actual unit images and concocted bogus tenancy agreements for the unsuspecting victims.

The victims hailed from various countries, including the United States, France, South Africa, Germany, India, China, Portugal, Israel, Denmark, Switzerland, and Singapore.

Victim paid to rent unit, ended up had to stay in hotel

Court documents revealed that Zeng’s victims were duped into paying “deposits” ranging from S$7,000 to S$16,635 after responding to his fraudulent Airbnb listings in 2022. Among these victims were international students and locals seeking short-term accommodations.

One victim from Israel had arranged for Zeng to pick her up at Changi Airport, but he never appeared and failed to provide her with any rental space or a refund upon her arrival.

When it came time for most victims to move into their supposed units, Zeng would fabricate excuses, often citing that the outgoing tenant had contracted COVID-19. These falsehoods left many victims in a state of uncertainty and led to financial losses, with one victim even having to book a hotel stay as a result.

Multiple police reports were filed against Zeng, leading to his initial arrest in February 2022. However, after being released on station bail that same day, he continued to defraud others.

He was arrested again five months later, charged in court, and yet again resumed his illegal activities upon being released on court bail.

Finally, in October 2022, his bail was revoked, and he has been in remand since.

WOMAN’S NIECE TOLD HER SHE WANTS TO BE A “TROPHY WIFE” LIKE HER

0

My niece is 17 so she’s started thinking about her career/university.

Yesterday, the family was asking her if she had decided what she wanted to do with her life. She told them her dream job was the same job as my job.

Everyone automatically assumed she meant she wanted to work in marketing because that’s what I’m currently doing.

My niece said that’s not what she wants to do and she wanted to be a trophy wife.

Admittedly, this is a sore spot for me because a lot of my extended family went from treating me like someone who had worked hard to get where I currently am to a glorified trophy wife the second I got married.

My parents did call her out for what she said but my niece said her dad said that’s what I was.

I got annoyed and I ended up calling my brother-in-law and giving him a piece of my mind, and telling my niece I didn’t think it was a realistic dream for her.

My sister is upset with me for what I said to my niece and claims that her husband was only joking.

Netizen’s comments

  • Let’s face it – your sister is upset because she and her husband got caught bad-mouthing you and are covering their embarrassment by getting mad at you. What they should be doing is apologizing to you for talking about you behind your back.
As far as what you told your niece and your BIL – it was entirely appropriate. What did you sister expect you to say? That they were correct and what they said was fine?

JOBLESS GUY TIO GAN, GO WORK ALREADY NO TIME FOR GF ALSO TIO GAN

0

How do you deal with an overly needy gf?

My GF has been pestering me to be with her or game with her all the time.

We used to go on dates and game often because I was jobless.

But I found a job and she seems to still want to keep up the previous gaming lifestyle.

She keeps pestering me to game with her the entire day, making a big deal out of it if i say i am busy.

I had to resort to telling her a white lie that I am busy at work sometimes, just to catch a breather.

To put things in perspective, it is something along the line of gaming before work, gaming during my work breaks, gaming after my work till late at night, gaming the entire day during weekends, gaming with her when she is bored at her relative’s home.

She has depression, and the jobs she was in did not last long, and she is mostly a stay home person, I already do all her chores, go to work to support our living and now i am also expected to entertain her the entire day?

To make it worst, she even invaded my personal gaming space by joining my 5-man team with my kakis, thanks to that, we had to exclude one of us so that she can join my games, even had my bro bitching to me that she is causing our ranking to drop because of her low skill level. I did not tell her this because I do not want to create drama.

What do I do? Sometimes she even resort to coming over to my place during my work at home just to squeeze out every last drop of time i have left, or straight up ask me to game with her when i am offline from the meetings etc

Here are what netizens think:

  • Establish boundaries. Tell her your availability and stick to it. Don’t allow unauthorised home visits and don’t eject your teammate because of her. Manage and talk. Most importantly, it was mentioned in passing but it could be the real problem: you said she had depression. it might be worth encouraging her to see a psychiatrist as that could be the root of some of the issues
  • Do you think the world has only one girl to be your girlfriend? Even if so, you don’t need this girl in your life. Take care.
  • Mobile legend is it? Or pubg? She have to find a job n cut gaming time. If she dont want to then u both are on different path. Talk to her

GIRL TELL SINGLE PEOPLE NOT TO GIVE UP, “THE MAN U WANT IS OUT THERE SOMEWHERE”

0

Been on 3 dates with this man and there’s something very charismatic about him that I can’t describe. He reminded me of the pure, sweet first love I had experienced and ended a couple of years ago with my first love amicably. Since then, I haven’t been able to move on as I always knew he was the one for me, and I thought we could build an amazing life together but circumstances chose to tear us apart.

Recently I heard from a mutual friend that he is expecting to be a father soon. It’s a bittersweet feeling as that could potentially be “us,” but I guess life has its way of teasing you, which is inevitable to bring you to the ultimate one. Despite that, I am happy for him from the bottom of my heart. Being single all these years has made me prioritise and be selective with how I spend my time and who I spend it with, as I enjoy alone time and away from the dramas and negativity.

Going back to him, I felt like he let me see a glimpse of light to the end of the tunnel. You know how when you meet someone for the first time and go, “oh this person does have a purpose in life and doesn’t waste time on things he don’t enjoy or sees value in?” I guess that summarises my encounter with him. I also learned that he’s sporty and humorous, yet chill (lives in the moment vibe). He might be the missing piece I need in my life. Perhaps it could help that our family is acquainted, which makes me feel that extra connection in this relationship.

I am already looking forward to the next date, and also, shoutout to the singles out there: don’t give up. I am sure someday you will meet someone who makes you feel that special connection tho atm I am not sure where this is heading, but I am getting a good feeling out of this.

PRC WOMAN IN VIRAL SGH SAGA, JAILED & FINED – “IT’S MY 1ST TIME OVERSEAS, I’M SORRY”

0

29-year-old Chinese national Han Feizi, who has taken the Singapore news media by storm with her antics in a now-infamous incident at the Singapore General Hospital, was sentenced yesterday (25 October) to 5 weeks and 5 days imprisonment, as well as a fine of $600, according to Channel NewsAsia.

She had pleaded guilty to 5 charges that included using criminal force on a condominium security officer, insulting a hospital employee, public nuisance, making a false statement in her work permit application; three other charges were also taken into consideration during her sentencing.

“I’m sorry”

During her mitigation, Han spoke through her Mandarin interpreter, and said that she was deeply sorry and felt remorseful.

She said that this was her first time in a foreign country, and that she had only come to Singapore for a little over a month and wasn’t familiar with the law here.

She said that she shouldn’t have reacted the way that she did, and that she was feeling frantic and helpless at the time following the accident with the Grab driver, and shouted at the hospital because she was in distress.

She added that it was her first time overseas and she didn’t expect to end up in this situation, and asked for leniency and a chance to go back to her family.

Han added that her “whole purpose” was to earn as much money as she could to provide for her family and alleviate their financial burdens.

She also added that she is sorry for the inconvenience and trouble that she had caused, and that Singapore is in fact a multicultural, multiracial society; and (she) ought to have exercised tolerance and greater understanding of the facts.

Finally, she reiterated that she shouldn’t have shouted in public or used the words that she used, before adding in English “I’m sorry”.

Recap

The prosecution said that Han was arrested on 11 October, and the MInistry of Manpower was then informed about possible breaches under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.

Investigations then ensued and it revealed that Han had applied for a work permit earlier this year in August, after her application for a student pass was rejected.

In her application, she declared that she would be working as a clerk but failed to do so.

The prosecutor for MOM also added that Han had only wanted to come to Singapore to “have fun”, and that she applied for the work pass without trying to understand what it said, as the form was in English.

Drunk

Incident at The Sail

Advertisements

The prosecution said that on 3 October at about 10pm, the police were called in by the security at The Sail at Marina Bay, a private apartment building, because there was a drunk resident that needed help.

Han was found by a security officer squatting in a common area, and she said that she was drunk; the security then helped the woman back to her unit but she became aggressive inside the lift and pushed the guard, insulting him with vulgarities.

SGH Incident

On 10 October, the Singaporean police received a call for help at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) at around 2:35 am.

Han claimed to have waited for three hours in the hospital’s emergency department without receiving any medical attention after allegedly being hit by a car.

She further alleged that a nurse told her she would not be treated because she was not a Singaporean citizen. These claims were later disputed by SGH.

COMPANY REFUSE TO REVEAL THEIR SALARY UNTIL YOU AGREE THEIR JOB OFFER

0

Is it a common practice now for companies to reveal their remuneration package only after a verbal acceptance from the candidate?

Graduated recently and have been job hunting. Interviewed with a reputable company and the hiring manager called me a day after my interview to let me know that they would like to offer me the role.

However, when I asked if I could review the remuneration before accepting the offer they said it’s not according to their SOPs and can only send it to me after a verbal acceptance.

Remuneration is a very essential factor for me in deciding whether to accept a job offer or not… so i found it very sus but said the company is very well known in the industry? would appreciate advice thanks!

Here are what netizens think:

  • I suspect it’s a black shop, better report your interview experience with MOM and check first
  • Request an employment contract draft. It must include KETs like your pay rates
  • It’s shady AF. But still the choice is still yours if you find the compensation is not something that would work for you.
  • The whole package in details may be not. But at least they should tell u what is the base pay, if you have AWS, leave entitlement, etc. This sounds sus af to me
  • This is not common practice. They know you are fresh grad not much job hunting experience, trying to play you.
  • Not common , usually they tell u the base pay and benefits when they offer. But since its a verbal acceptance u can say u accept on the condition they send the details of job pay and benefits along w the contract for ur review

MAN WORKED IN BIG COMPANY, SAYS YOU NEED TO BE SLY LIKE A FOX TO SURVIVE

0

I have seen many people always say that they want to work in a big company after their university graduation, but they don’t know the bitterness of working in a big company.

Everyone in the big company has always been intrigued and often tells right from wrong.

Only the treacherous and cunning talents can survive in the big company safely. Going down, honest people will soon be eliminated by big companies because those old drivers will try their best to harm newcomers.

For example, put sleeping pills in your water bottle to make you feel uncomfortable after eating and you can’t go to work on time in the next day. Thus, you will be fired by the boss. The famous saying of big companies: If you are strong, I will use any means to drive you away. If you are weak, I will look down on you and I will also drive you away!

I have only worked in a large company for two years and I don’t want to work it anymore.

Therefore, I suggest that you go to small and medium-sized companies to hone after graduation. Please don’t go directly to large companies. You are still very tender, so let yourself understand what I told you that the ugly side of society wonders so you can decide whether you want to work in a large company or not.

I’m back to work in my old bean company.

Currently, I am the general manager of my father’s company. My father tells their employees whoever dares to harm me, my father will expel that person directly or they will be sent to court if the case is serious.

I feel very happy and comfortable because I can go back to my old bean company to help my father work instead of going to a big company to see those scumbags.”
