MAN INSISTS ON PROTECING HIS OWN INTERESTS FIRST, LEAVES HIS WORKERS WITHOUT SALARY

0

It was a dark day for me when I had to close down my business. I had worked hard for years and invested a lot of money in it, but the market was not in my favor and I had to shut it down.

I felt terrible for the employees who were working with me, but I had no choice but to let them go and not be able to pay them the salaries they deserved.

Didn’t care if they had families to support, I decided to protect myself first

I knew that the workers were struggling financially, and some of them had families to support. But I was also struggling financially and had to prioritize my own interests first.

I knew that it was unfair to the workers, but in the end, I had to do what was best for my own financial future.

I tried to reassure the workers that they would get their salaries eventually, but I knew it was unlikely. I had invested so much money in the business that I could barely manage to pay my own bills.

I had to let go of the employees without being able to pay them, and I had to accept the fact that I wouldn’t be able to pay them their salaries.

The workers were understandably angry and frustrated. They had worked hard for me and trusted me to take care of them, but I had let them down.

I could see the disappointment in their eyes as I told them that I couldn’t pay them their salaries. I felt terrible for them, but I had no choice.

I knew that it was unfair to the workers, and I felt guilty for not being able to pay them. But in the end, I had to do what was best for my own financial future.

I had to make sure that my own interests were taken care of first, and that meant that I had to let the workers go without any compensation.

It was a difficult decision, but I had to make it in order to protect my own interests. I knew that the workers would be angry and frustrated, but I had to prioritize my own interests first.

I had invested so much money and time into the business that I had to make sure that I was taken care of first.

MAN DOESN’T HOLD ACCOUNTABILITY TO HIS BUSINESS PARTNERS, END UP GOT CASHFLOW PROBLEM

0

I had a brilliant business idea that I thought would really take off. It started off really well and I was sure I would make a killing.

I was even more certain when I got a few business partners on board who were willing to invest their money into the business.

Everything was doing well till I took money out secretly

At first, everything was going great. We were making a decent profit and I was growing the business. But then things started to go downhill.

I started to realize that I was not holding myself accountable to my partners. I was taking out money from the business secretly and using it to venture into other things.

This was not something I had told my partners about and it started to have an effect on the business.

The cash flow started to dwindle and I was no longer able to pay my partners their share of the profits. I tried to explain this to my partners, but they were not understanding and started to threaten legal action.

I knew the business was doomed, but I was too scared to admit it. I tried to make up for the money I had taken out by taking out even more, but it didn’t work.

Eventually, the business was unable to generate any more cash flow and had to close its doors.

They chased me back for the money and I was left with nothing

My business partners were not happy and they came after me for the money I had taken out. I was able to pay them back with the help of borrowing from people around me, but I was left with nothing.

I had put all my hard work and money into a business that I thought would make me wealthy, but instead I ended up with nothing.

I should have held myself accountable to my partners and not taken out money without their knowledge.

I should have been honest with them, but instead I chose to be secretive and it cost me everything and now it is too late for regrets.

MAN ‘TALKS DOWN’ TO PEOPLE HE THINKS ARE POOR, LOSES A BUSINESS DEAL

0

I had been eyeing the deal for weeks. It was a big one, and I was sure it would be the breakthrough I needed to launch my business into the stratosphere. I was sure I had it in the bag.

But then it all came crashing down.

Talked down to a potential business partner because he dressed poorly

It started when I met with the potential business partner. He was dressed in shabby clothes and spoke with a slight accent. He didn’t seem to have much money, and I immediately assumed he was poor.

So I talked down to him.

I thought I was being subtle, but I guess he noticed. He kept his cool, but something in his eyes told me he was angry. I kept talking, and eventually, he said he didn’t think this was going to be a good fit.

I was stunned. I had blown the deal.

I had been so focused on getting the deal that I had forgotten one important thing: people don’t like to be talked down to.

I had let my own assumptions about this man’s wealth cloud my judgement. I had made a mistake, and it cost me the deal.

In fact, this potential business partner was one of the wealthiest in the field and I had blown it because I judged him by his dressing.

I am trying to change after this expensive lesson

I had been so sure I was going to get the deal that I hadn’t even considered the possibility of failure. I was embarrassed and ashamed.

I had learned my lesson. Going forward, I would remember that people are not defined by their wealth or status. I would treat everyone with respect, no matter their circumstances.

I had lost this deal, but I would not make this mistake again.

MAN SCARED TO APPROACH GIRL HE LIKES, SCARED HE IS TOO CREEPY

0

I’m 35, M, She’s 28 F,

Both of us are single, she’s an introverted homely type and I am too, to an extent, We get talking and have a lot of chemistry. I have not had this kind of chemistry and positive vibes with a lady in quite some time. (Okay longer then I care to admit to)

Don’t really know how to approach her

She’s a temp worker at my job, ( I know, I know) I’m full time, There’s no guarantee she’ll be there in a month. But, then again she might get the full time spot. I dread the thought of getting a GF at work, breaking up and having to see her.

I do at least want to ask her to hang out, outside of work. But, then again I’d feel like a creep if I did that and she said no. Do I ask her to hang out on one of our days off or keep her at arms length and friendly?

Here are what netizens think

  • Just ask her if she wants to come with you for a lunch break or out to eat after your shift. If she says yes, learn more about her and be interested in what she says. If she says no, it was just an invite to eat no big deal.
  • You are a man, if you do not approach her she’s not going to come to you like a free gift from heaven or something so learn to man up and open your mouth.
  • For all you know she may just be a part timer and that will be it so just shoot your chances, nothing to lose out. You will never know until you try.

GIRL ASK HOW TO LOOK PRETTIER ON HER DATING PROFILE, CAN’T SEEM TO GET GUYS

0

I am 36f and I know I don’t have the prettiest face (so have barely any luck on the apps). I am slim though and take care of myself in all ways, except as far as having plastic surgery.

I am shy with guys around my age and can’t carry the conversation far at times

I have a big nose and ears, deep sunken eyes and just generally not “pretty” no matter how much make up I wear (it actually makes me look worse).

The other problem is I am really shy with men my age. I am friendly and can get along with most people unless it’s a guy my age I just clam up and find it hard to be myself.

I really want to meet someone nice but worried it’s not going to happen for me, I am on hinge but only get probably one like every 2/3 weeks and have been on dates with these guys (some whom I’m not even attracted to but hoping something might grow in person if they have a nice personality, which hasn’t happened yet).

Anyway just looking for any and all advice, if anyone has been in my position and found love ( I don’t want to settle, I want real love, but worry because I don’t have the looks and I’m shy I won’t get it).

Or advice on how to make my profile more appealing (or do ppl only look at the photos)?

Here are what netizens think

  • Can use photo editing apps to make you more pretty, got meitu and a lot of those different apps what.
  • Need to learn how to talk to people lor, cannot always be shy. If a woman is too shy also very turn off for a guy one no matter how pretty you are.
  • Trust your looks, a lot of ugly people also can find girlfriend or boyfriend and I am sure that you are better than that

FT IN S’PORE HAS HER RENT INCREASED BY 75%, BUT LANDLORD TELLS HER “DISCOUNT” ALREADY

A British woman in Singapore shared on her TikTok page (@salshoult) about how her landlord has increased her rent by 75%.

Sal said sarcastically in her TikTok video that there was no need for her to feel anxious about the rental market because her landlord was “only” going to increase her monthly rental by 75%.

The landlord then told her that it was a good deal for her because if she didn’t accept it, he would list it on the open market with a 100% increase in rent.

She then added sarcastically: “So really, he’s giving us a 25% discount! So generous of him!” Before adding that she’s moving out.

Netizens’ comments

  • As a landlord, I always feel a good tenant is more impt than increasing my rental…
    • (OP) Are you insinuating I’m a bad tenant?! Lived in this house for 4 years. Paid rent on time every month. Kept property in good condition.
  • happened to me 100% increase. I moved out and found something cheaper better
    • (OP) Glad to hear it! I hope I can follow suit!
  • I rent in the heartlands and rent was increased by 40%. and I moved out too lol
    • (OP) Urgh, sorry to hear that. The market is crazy.
  • What do you do for a living ? Just saw your viral post from Facebook lol. You should consider JB lol. Value for money
    • (OP) We did actually consider that, but it’s not an option because of the visa situation
  • move out, his greed his loss
    • (OP) I am! Not paying that increase out of principle alone!
@salshoult It’s my turn to feel the burn of the SG rental market! #sgexpats #sgrent ♬ original sound – Sal

ANG MOH WALKS INTO A RANDOM BAR AT BOAT QUAY, PAID $30 FOR A PINT OF GUINNESS

0

I had just arrived in Singapore and wanted to experience some of the country’s nightlife. I decided to make my way to the Boat Quay area, a popular nightlife destination in the city.

I was excited to explore the area and see what it had to offer.

The bar was vibrant, filled with westerners like me

I walked into a random bar somewhere near the area and am immediately hit with a wave of energy. The place was filled with people, the music was loud, and the atmosphere was buzzing.

There were also female hostess wearing very scantily accompanying the patrons who were mostly westerners and because there were many westerners like me, I assumed that it was a safe place.

I ordered a beer for starters and was surprised to find out that it was more expensive than I had expected, about $30 for a pint of Guinness. I didn’t think much as I had heard about the prices of alcohol in Singapore and thought it was normal.

The night went on as usual and then the hostess came over to accompany me and after a while, they asked me if I could buy a few shots of ‘ladies drink’ for them and I agreed thinking that it was their tips.

When the bill came, I got a shock that I had paid over a hundred bucks for a tray of 10 shots for their drinks which tasted nothing like alcohol.

Realised that I might have been conned and wanted to leave

I didn’t want to spend so much because I realised that I might have been conned and I rushed to finish my drink and made my way to the door.

As I was leaving, the bartender rushed over with another bill for me and told me that I had to pay for the ladies’ time for accompanying me. It was about $150 per lady and I had two.

I was outraged and demanded that it was unfair and refused to pay. He refused and told me that there was nothing I could do about it. I was so angry that I could have punched him but I didn’t want to make the situation any worse.

I left the bar feeling completely defeated. I felt like I had been taken advantage of simply because I was a tourist and it really put a damper on my night.

I had wanted to enjoy my first night in Singapore but instead I was left feeling ripped off and frustrated.

VENOMOUS KING COBRA SPOTTED AT CHANGI BEACH, PUBLIC URGED TO BE CAREFUL

0

Facebook user Hirule Leo shared an alleged sighting of a King cobra, purportedly at Changi End, in the grass patch near Changi Beach.

The photo was shared on the Singapore Wildlife Sightings Facebook page, as Leo urged the public to be careful if they are in the area.

In the photo, the snake could be seen slithering on the grass while being surrounded by what appears to be crows.

Leo also alerted the people nearby because there were students around at the time cleaning up the beach, and he also tagged ACRES in his post.

A netizen commented and said that the location of the snake sighting was near a sculpture of a finger pointing towards the sky, along the Changi Coast Track (the Inscription Of The Island statue).

Up to 5-metres long

King cobras, also known as Ophiophagus hannah, are one of the most venomous snakes in the world. These snakes are mainly found in the jungles of Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent, where they are known to be one of the top predators in their ecosystem.

King cobras are known for their distinctive appearance, with their long, slender body and their hooded head. They can grow up to 5 meters in length and weigh around 9kg. Despite their intimidating size, king cobras are timid and avoid confrontation with humans unless provoked.

Potent venom

The venom of the king cobra is extremely potent and can cause severe damage to the human body. The venom contains a neurotoxin that attacks the nervous system, leading to paralysis, respiratory failure, and ultimately, death. The venom also has cardiotoxic properties, which can cause the heart to stop beating.

The venom of a king cobra can kill a human within a matter of hours, making it one of the deadliest snakes in the world. Even a small amount of venom can cause a fatal reaction in a person, and there is no known antivenom for the king cobra venom.

In addition to being dangerous to humans, king cobras are also a threat to other animals in their habitat. They are known to prey on other venomous snakes. They are also known to eat lizards, rodents, and other small animals.

Despite their venomous nature, king cobras play an important role in the ecosystem. They help to control the population of other snakes and small animals, and their presence in the jungle indicates a healthy ecosystem.

What to do if you encounter a King cobra

  1. Remain calm

The first and most important thing to do is to remain calm. King cobras are aggressive snakes and can become more dangerous if they feel threatened. Stay still and avoid making sudden movements or loud noises that may startle the snake.

  1. Keep your distance

King cobras can strike from a distance of up to 8 feet, so it is important to keep your distance. If you see a king cobra, back away slowly and try to put as much distance between you and the snake as possible.

  1. Do not attempt to touch the snake

This may seem obvious, but it is important to never attempt to touch or handle a king cobra. Even if the snake appears to be calm, it can still be extremely dangerous.

  1. Call for professional help

If you come across a king cobra, do not attempt to handle it on your own. Instead, call for professional help. You can contact NParks at 1800-476-1600 if you require assistance.
