2 IMPORTED CASES OF OMICRON VARIANT DETECTED IN S’PORE, ISOLATED ON ARRIVAL

0

The Ministry of Health said in a statement that Singapore has detected 2 imported cases of the Omicron variant on 2 December, the two cases were isolated upon arrival and there were no interactions with the community.

MOH added that at the moment, there is no evidence of transmission among the community arising from the cases.

The two imported cases are recovering at NCID at the time of writing and were fully vaccinated – with mild symptoms.

Johannesburg, South Africa

Both cases had arrived from Johannesburg via flight SQ479 on 1 December; one of them is a 44-year-old male Singapore PR who transited through Johannesburg – he tested negative in his pre-departure test taken in Mozambique on 29 November.

The other infected person is a 41-year-old female Singaporean who arrived on the same day from South Africa, and she tested negative on 29 November in her pre-departure test in Johannesburg.

Both persons took a PCR test upon arrival in Singapore and were sent immediately to an isolation facility as they waited for the results.

The two were then sent to NCID after their infection was confirmed.

Their PCR results revealed the S-gene target failure which is possibly associated with the Omicron variant, and MOH explained that the National Public Health Laboratory is confirming the variant through whole genome sequencing.

Contact tracing

MOH added that contact tracing efforts are ongoing, with all the 19 other passengers on the same flight testing negative for the coronavirus.

They were all given SHN at designated facilities and quarantines upon their arrival and are required to undergo a testing regime.

Their close contacts will be given a 10-day quarantine at the facilities as well as PCR tests at the beginning and end of their quarantine.

For suspected and confirmed cases of the Omicron variant, home recovery is not available and patients will be sent to NCID for isolation.

PRITAM SINGH: RAEESAH KHAN ADMITTED TO PARTY LEADERS ABOUT LYING IN PARLIAMENT

0

During the press conference held by the Workers’ Party (WP), the party’s secretary-general Pritam Singh shared that MP Raeesah Khan had admitted to the party leadership that she lied in parliament a week after her speech.

He said that his immediate concern was Raeesah not informing her family about her assault, which was paramount for her to do so so that she could address the reasons for her dishonesty in Parliament and to correct the record.

Singh said that he was prepared to give her the space she needed to address the matter with her family.

Raeesah had taken ill in September and didn’t attend Parliament sittings that month, and she was told that any clarification on the matter was hers to make before the October sitting.

However, Raeesah repeated the untruths after Minister for Law and Home Affairs K Shanmugam asked her to reveal more information about the allegations.

Singh said that it was inconsistent with what she told the party leadership, and she later agreed with the WP leaders that she needed to set the record right at the next earliest Parliament sitting on 1 November.

They later announced on 30 November that she had resigned from her position.

Singh also stated that the public trust in WP’s MPs are fundamental and that they should never take their faith, trust, and confidence for granted.

PRITAM SINGH: WP’S CEC VOTED FOR RAEESAH KHAN TO BE EXPELLED

0

The Workers’ Party (WP) said in a press conference earlier today that Raeesah Khan resigned before the party’s disciplinary panel could submit their recommendations to the Central Executive Committee (CEC).

WP chief Pritam Singh said that the CEC had voted for her to be expelled from the party if she didn’t resign from her position.

Making sure this doesn’t happen again

Singh said that there were the usual pre-parliamentary processes when asked about the checks in place to ensure the saga doesn’t happen again.

He added that Khan was told to substantiate her allegations about following a rape victim to the police station, but ignored the instruction.

He noted that the party’s leaders will take responsibility and account to the public because it’s their MP.

Singh also touched on the candidate selection process, saying that no selection process can eliminate the prospect of a candidate with certain traits that weren’t highlighted initially.

He did however add that the WP will do their best to lower this prospect the best that they can while working to ensure diversity.

Palanidas Ramadas, 19-years-old, pleaded guilty on 2 December to eight charges including causing hurt with a weapon.

He had used a bread knife to attack a schoolmate at an ITE campus in February while being out of bail for separate offences.

The knife used in the attack was given to him by another 18-year-old ITE student. (the two are no longer students of ITE).

What happened?

Palanidas was out on bail on 15 February 2021 for offenses that he committed, including using a teenage girl’s mobile phone to send pictures of a 31-year-old man’s NRIC and drivers license to himself (without her knowledge) to rent vehicles from Shariot.

The man had sent the pictures to the girl to help her sign up for BlueSG.

He was then caught for illegally driving a car when the traffic police stopped his vehicle along the PIE on 30 December 2020.

He was then out on bail on 15 February this year when he asked his accomplice to bring a bread knife to school because his friend had “problems”.

Palanidas got into an argument with the 20-year-old victim in the school canteen over a staring incident and asked him to meet at the school carpark.

He then swung the bread knife at the victim’s chest as the latter tried to shield himself, the victim then ran and managed to escape before calling his father for help, who then called the police.

The victim suffered founds on his left shoulder and ear.

Palanidas fled after the attack and threw away the bread knife, before being arrested on 17 February.

He is due to return to court on 11 January 2022 for sentencing and mitigation.

ACTOR JOSHUA TAN STANDS UP TO DRIVER TRYING TO INTIMIDATE HIM IN SYDNEY

Ah Boys To Men actor Joshua Ang shared a video on his Instagram showing an encounter he experienced with an unruly caucasian road user in Sydney who tried to intimidate him.

The man could be seen angrily shouting at Tan and even coming up close to his face and shouting at him in an attempt to intimidate him, with Tan’s fiancee Tay Zoen inside the car.

Prays for God to help the man

In his post, Tan also alluded to being a victim of racism by the man, but he captioned that he prays God will help the man in whatever situation he may be in, despite his behaviour being unacceptable.

The details of their conversation could not be heard as the video was recorded from inside the car, as the man and tan went back and forth during their argument.

It appeared as though they had a disagreement about something that happened on the road, presumably something to do with road rage.

A dog could be heard whimpering in the car as well.

Kudos to Joshua for maintaining his composure and keeping his cool in a situation where many others would have thrown their fists.

PRC WOMAN UNHAPPY DELIVERY ORDER CAN’T BE SENT TO DOORSTEP, THROWS DRINK AT RIDER

0

A netizen on Facebook, Michael Cheang, shared a video showing a PRC woman throwing bubble tea at a delivery rider and security guard.

She was purportedly unhappy that she couldn’t have her delivery order sent to her doorstep due to Covid protocols.

The incident happened in Malaysia.

Here is what the netizen said:

"I received a video this morning, I wish to speak up on behalf of our M-Forces Security.
It happened at around 8 o'clock last night. The China lady insisted on letting the deliveryman deliver her bubble tea upstairs.
However, the security guard refused and stopped the delivery boy from sending it upstairs, telling him the current SOP does not allow it due to Covid.
Later, the deliveryman received a call from the China lady and he then explained to her the situation.
During the explanation, she scolded the security guard and deliveryman at the same time. After a while, she became angry and said that it isn't like this in other countries including China and asked why is Malaysia so bad?
The security guard tried his best to pacify and explain to her, she did not accept it and was very agitated towards our security guards and the deliveryman.
Things then came to a head and she then threw the bubble tea at them.
Here, I would like to pay tribute to the security staff of M-Forces Security! They showed a professional side to calmly deal with and stick to their posts and responsibilities. I am proud of them!"

GUY FINDS IT THRILLING TO SLEEP WITH MARRIED WOMEN AND GET THEM TO CHEAT

0

A netizen shared how he finds it thrilling to get women who are attached or married to cheat on their partners by sleeping with him.

He confesses that he is a relationship wrecker with a “success rate of 25%”.

Here is his story:

“Hi. Just wanna confess that I’m a relationship wrecker. I find it thrilling to get attached/married ladies to fall in love with me and cheat on their partner.

Obviously, once I got them to cheat, I would end up losing interest and ghost them because hey, mission accomplished?.

The thrill is just isn’t there anymore.

Boasts of “success rate”

Not easy and I would say my success rate is decent at best (25%~). Used to feel guilty at first.

But anyway, if they cheat it’s their fault right. Still, I wouldn’t try it on my close friends’ relationship. At least that’s one line I wouldn’t cross.

Obviously, I never tell them any of these because I wouldn’t wanna lose them as friends. So I’ll just post my confession here.

Thanks for hearing.”
