BOSS MAKES ALL HIS FEMALE EMPLOYEES KISS HIM EVERY MORNING AS COMPANY “S.O.P”

0

Female employees of a company in China are made to kiss their boss every morning as part of the company’s “standard operating procedure”, according to GoodyFeed.

GF reported that the “SOP” was introduced by the boss of the Beijing company.

They said that the company carries out the “kisses” every morning between 9am to 9.30am, with the boss explaining that he got the idea from visiting an American company that practices such greetings.

A video also circulated online, showing the “SOP” in progress.

One of the female workers was seen in the video flinching after kissing the man, and ducking her head down away from him.

GoodyFeed also claimed that if the employees are not able to perform the SOP, they will be made to resign from the company.

IKEA S’PORE ISSUES RECALL FOR “LETTAN” MIRRORS FOR RISK OF “BREAKING WALL FITTINGS”

0

IKEA urges all customers who own an affected LETTAN mirror to stop using it and to order replacement wall fittings free of charge.

Customer safety is the starting point for IKEA. Therefore, we are announcing a recall for repair action on LETTAN mirrors with a date stamp before and including 2105 (YYWW), due to risk of breaking wall fittings. No incidents were reported in Singapore.

IKEA develops its products using a rigorous risk assessment and testing program, to make sure that the products live up to all applicable laws and standards in the markets where they are sold.

Despite this, it has come to our attention that some of the fittings that attach LETTAN mirrors to the wall have been breaking. This has in turn led to some mirrors unexpectedly falling. Therefore, we urge all customers who own an affected LETTAN mirror to stop using it and to order replacement wall fittings free of charge.

To order your replacement fitting, visit here to order the required number of the replacement fitting with item number 139298/1 or contact IKEA Customer Contact Centre at +65 6786 6868.

IKEA apologises for any inconvenience this recall for repair action may cause.

GIRL’S FATHER HUMILIATED HER BY GOING TO HER WORKPLACE & SHOUTING AT HER

My (19F) dad (M50) yelled at me while I was at my job, how do I handle this when I get home

Today I was late to work, my phone died I’m completely in the wrong and that is the truth. But when I finally charged my phone I saw a text message from my dad saying he was disappointed in me.

My dad and my boss are friends. There was been multiple times that he has texted my dad about me at work (which I think it’s a bit weird but idk)

Today however my dad came into into work and yelled at me for being late saying there was no excuse and it reflects on him (I’ve been working at this place for two years and I’ve had my moment but overall I’m a good waitress)

After yelling at me at work he left and I’ve just been out of it. I really want to talk to him when I get home tonight.

I’m not sure how to go about it. I know I’m in the wrong about being late but yelling at me was overboard

Netizens’ comments

  • Get another job somewhere else. And ignore your dad as much as you can.
  • I’d explain to him that if he wants to yell at you, he can do it at home. Yelling at you while you’re on the clock is uncalled for, unprofessional, and reflects on him a lot more than you being late.
  • You think it’s weird that your boss texts your dad, because it IS weird
  • is there any chance you can talk to your mom? this is scary and controlling and letting an adult know about this situation would help
  • If you’re not able to or want to find a job somewhere else you’ll have to have a conversation with your boss about informing your father about your work performance. It would be beneficial to mention this incident because it happened due to your boss’ actions. Overall it’s unethical for a boss to inform a parent of an adult employee about said employees work performance, and it’s not the best thing for a business to have employee’s personal life being broadcast in front of paying customers.

MAN GOT REJECTED BY WOMAN BECAUSE HE HASN’T SLEPT WITH ANYONE FOR 3-4 YEARS

0

Rejected because I haven’t hooked up in a number of years

So I (M27) managed to go on my first date since 2016. We clicked a lot on various issues and interests, our date went well and started to make plans via text after I had took her home.

We were planning and chatting along, to which she brought up when was the last time I had slept with anyone.

I was caught off guard (this should have been a red flag in asking such a question this early) but told her it had been around 3-4 years or so since I had.

She didn’t reply for almost 30 minutes until she texted back to tell me she wasn’t comfortable with someone that had not been intimate with anyone in such a “long” time.

I texted back asking why was this an issue as she had never mentioned it until then, but never got a reply back.

The last week has made me feel extremely worthless as I had been struggling socially for a few years now, and now I feel like a freak of nature for being out of the game for so long.

What should I do incase she decides to text me back for whatever reason?

FAMILY’S CDC VOUCHERS USED BY SOMEONE ELSE, PARENTS CLAIM THEY SENT IT TO NO ONE ELSE

Misused CDC voucher

My dad realised that someone used a portion of our household’s CDC voucher yesterday and called everyone in the family to check but no one used it.

The vouchers were redeemed by my mum and she only sent the link to my dad so none of us (the adult children) has access to the vouchers.

Besides, I’ve tracked the transaction to a store not far from our place but the things that they sell are definitely not something that anyone in our family require or will purchase.

Although it’s just a couple tens of dollars here but I hate the fact that someone thinks they can misuse other people’s vouchers and get away with it. Honestly, it’s not much different from stealing.

What should the course of action be here next?

Netizens’ comments

  • The older generation always think they did no wrong or lie so that they don’t look weak. Next course of action is to utilise your remaining vouchers asap
  • Somebody shared the link. As per gov, that there will be no reinstatement made for vouchers that were shared erroneously
  • Did you dad send the link to anyone else ? got an video about a guy’s dad send the link to everyone in his contact list and someone redeemed the voucher.
  • isn’t its in the news thate one guy also shared to his dad, and his dad went on to share to other group chat.
so $90 just wiped out of the CDC vouchers.
i think the CDC voucher links are easily stolen, because you can just take picture when someone opening the voucher page and bam…its gone
  • Someone in your family shared the link or someone in your family used it or someone’s singpass is compromised.
Anyway if you are sure no one fucked up, then file a police report and inform CDC

MAN SAYS RETIRING EARLY IN S’PORE IS IMPOSSIBLE, WANTS TO RETIRE IN 3RD WORLD COUNTRY

0

How much money do I need for early retirement in 3rd world country?

M23, Still in uni but like they say plan early. So I m planning to retire by 30+. How much do I need to retire in a 3rd world country in Asia or Africa? Since retiring early in SG is near impossible.

Netizens’ weigh in

  • $500k can get you around $15k interest (conservative 3% a year) which translates to roughly 15 million Indonesian plus you can get a long term digital nomad pass by showing you have 200k in your account. The long term pass is for 10 years. Rental can be as cheap as a few hundreds a month for a villa in Bali.
Sounds like the perfect retirement plan chilling by the beach
  • Your annual expenditure should represent 3-4% of your total capital invested in the stock market.
So if you’re living somewhere very cheap and expecting to spend all in say 2.5k USD per month, that’s 30k USD per year, meaning you should have 1m USD invested in a diversified ETF.
Then you can withdraw 30k per year from your investment account every year, and as per historical returns you won’t run out of money.
You can read up on the concept of SWR (safe withdrawal rate) if you wanna learn more.
  • Bro I’ma be 100% with you, most Singaporeans aren’t nearly street smart or tough enough to live in true third world shitholes. Worst most of y’all can tahan is Malaysia or Indonesia or maybe Thailand
You don’t want to know how they feel about Chinese looking types in Africa or other parts of Asia. Police won’t help you if someone steals you shit and beats you up, and once you leave coming back to sg will impoverish you even further
You maybe think you’ll live like a king but the rich people in those countries aren’t protected by money, they’re protected because they own the generals/politicians that run the army. Your 200k sgd will be lining some modern Idi Amin’s pocket while you rot in some shithole on fake espionage charges. Sg govt might not even be able to save you
  • If you want something like in tge middle range , you could retire in india for about $200000+ probably your flat to , very comfortably with a landed house and a nice car
  • 35 yo can buy 300-350k resale rent out $3k/month
Can sustain indefinitely in any neighboring country

PART TIMER ASKED RECRUITMENT AGENT ABOUT HIS MISSING $1K PAY, NO REPLIES

RecruitFirst agent not replying to salary payment

Hi, I applied for a one month part time job through the agent and have completed all my shifts. I then contacted the agent to ask about when the pay would come in.

He replied that he was no longer working with them and gave me his colleague’s phone number. I messaged his colleague, who replied that my pay should come in on 8 jan.

I didn’t receive it, so I contacted her again. I didn’t receive a reply. It still hasn’t come in now, and I have messaged her again, but she isn’t replying.

What can I do to get my pay back? It’s over $1000 so I really need to get it back.

I’m planning to file a claim under TADM if I don’t receive my pay by the 15th. Should I inform her about this first so that they would pay up?

Thank you!

Netizens’ comments

  1. if i were you, i would proceed with filing, and then notify them that you have done the filing. that would hopefully kick them awake and start taking you seriously.
they have breached the deadline 8 Jan and now you’re posting here 4 days later. transfer money in singapore is pretty straight forward so it make zero sense 4 days later you still not receiving what’s due to you.
  2. It’s already way past the date, so no need to wait until the 15th. Just file the claim first, then inform her that you have already filed a claim and give her the relevant documents.
  3. Lmao… I guess it’s quite a common thing in Recruitfirst. I had my job back in April last year for a 3 month contract. Guess what, during this 3 months, my agent changed 3 times. Like who tf changes their agent every month? LOL
  4. Just go through TADM. Don’t wait. There is a deadline for salary claims made through TADM.

CHINA MAN DRIVES CAR INTO CROWD DURING RUSH HOUR – 5 KILLED AND 13 INJURED

0

A 22-year-old man in China drove his BMW into a crowded street in Guangzhou during rush hour on the evening of 11 January.

5 people and 13 others were injured in the horrific massacre.

Videos emerged online showing the BMW ramming other vehicles and pedestrians who were waiting at the traffic lights.

The 22-year-old man was later arrested and the police are in the midst of determining the man’s motives.

The driver was seen speeding through an intersection and hitting other vehicles and pedestrians, with the BBC reporting that an eyewitness saw the driver deliberately driving into people waiting at the traffic lights.

The driver then made a u-turn to hit the pedestrians again, and they couldn’t escape in time because they didn’t know that he was hitting people on purpose.

A female pedestrian was seen being sent flying after being hit by the deranged driver while she was crossing the road.

At least 5 people have been killed and another 13 were injured.

The man later crashed the car into a fence after his senseless rampage, and The New York Times reported that he then threw money into the air after that, with money being scattered all over the car.

The man was seen in a video being pinned to the ground.

GUY’S NEW COLLEAGUES BRING HIM TO “KTV WITH HOSTESSES” AS A FORM OF TEAM BONDING

0

How to (SIAM) Diu?

Hi everyone, my boyfriend (26M) recently started working at a company that has a strong drinking culture and the night will progress to patronising a seedy Ktv with hostesses.

The company is male-dominated and these outings are sort of “team bonding”- expenses paid for by company.

I trust that he will not engage in the services of the hostesses, but I would definitely prefer if he doesn’t tag along all the time.

I understand that socialising and establishing valuable connections are important, and I’m not sure if him refusing to go Diu will reflect badly on him-

would he miss out on opportunities, and are there actually ways to siam the night without consequences?

Any advice appreciated! For females with partners in this situation, how do u grow to accept it? Especially when there’s nth u can do and just trust that they will always do the right thing.

Netizens’ comments

  • My friend’s gf told us that she had similar concerns at the start. But after knowing that he’s too stingy to spend $ on hostesses she feels much more secure
  • ooh, my brother was in such a company too for a while. I strongly believe that men with any morals just get densensitized, which also means if he can’t control himself then he’s not worth the effort. He will definitely miss out on opportunities but definitely the best is get a better job.
  • stop assuming men have feelings when going to these places, to some it’s just exercise/work out at the gym
  • Make him wear a chastity belt meh?
  • uncomfortable then ask him change job. ‘Siam Diu for life, Siam Bu for wife’
