A netizen shared how he was inside the MRT when an auntie got up from her seat and shoved him, before standing at the door.

She then secretly took a photo of him and sent it to a group chat.

This auntie in the picture took a photo of me via the reflection in the door and sent to a group chat.

Story was, she was sitting on the MRT seats and when she got up to alight, she just shoved/ elbowed me, to stand at the door.

Yes, MRT has not reached station but she’s so eager to stand at the door and cannot say excuse me too.

As I was still looking at her, she whipped up her phone and took a photo of me in the dark reflection of the door (as the train was still in the tunnel), thinking she damn stealth and sent it to one of her Whatsapp chats and proceed to record a voice message.

Yes, I saw the whole procedure, thinking she’s a woman, like me, and the photo is not obscene so I did not confront her.

But, the more I think about it, the more buaysong i felt eh, like a little violated. And then yes, I took a photo of her to write this post.

Malaysian politician Nga Kor Ming previously said on 27 October that if his party Pakatan Harapan won, Singaporeans would be the ones who came to Malaysia to work.

He has since come out and clarified that he wasn’t trying to offend anyone, and added that he meant Malaysia and Singapore should maintain a relationship that is mutually beneficial.

Nga spoke to 8world and said that his political opponents had taken his 27 October speech out of context and that he didn’t mean to offend Singaporeans.

He added that he mentioned a need for Malaysia to continue cooperating with Singapore for a “win-win” situation.

He said that having a stable ringgit would mean that their people didn’t need to wake up early to cross the causeway to Singapore for work, and only return home late at night.

On his purportedly misconstrued point, Nga said that a stronger Malaysian government would improve the chances of citizens getting higher-paying local jobs, which would attract more Singaporeans to work in Malaysia as well.

37-year-old Chinese national Yu Huajie pleaded guilty to 2 charges under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act and was sentenced to 7 weeks imprisonment on 26 October.

He had given false information and included a fake certificate that he paid $14,000 for, in his Employment Pass application.

What happened?

Yu made inquiries on how he could settle down in Singapore and approached a man who told him that he could get an Employment Pass if he invested $1 million in a company in Singapore.

Yu believed that an Employment Pass would help him to get Permanent Resident status here.

He then transferred the money to the man, and also submitted his passport and biodata, to the man and the director of Hai Sin International, Ms Wang Jue, who purportedly helps people invest or start a business in Singapore.

Yu knew that his EP would be applied under a company called Gashubin engineering, and his investment would be for them.

He was also aware that his monthly salary of $10,000 per month would be paid on top of any future potential investment returns and he wouldn’t have to work for Gashubin.

He was then told that he needed to submit a degree certificate for his EP, and he then paid US$10,000 ($SG$14,000) for a fake certificate that showed that he had graduated from the Chubb Institute (Westbury) in the US, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

He applied for his EP on 14 December 2018 and falsely declared on 15 February 2019 to MOM that he would be working for Gashubin Engineering, and that he was a business management graduate.

MOM then approved his application for an EP.

Yu received his “salary” of $5,000 to $10,000 while he was in Singapore from 15 February 2019 to 16 March 2021 but he was never their employee.

An employment inspector then carried out investigations on 16 March after receiving information about law-breaking related to foreign employment.

Investigations later showed that from early to mid-2018, Ms wang had told the director of Gashubin that she could secure foreign investors for their company if it applied for EPs for them to stay in Singapore.

Wang then agreed with the director that the foreigners would only invest financially in Gashubin and would not be working for them.

51-year-old Lim Siew Peng, was sentenced to 4 days imprisonment, fined $2,500 and banned from driving for 15 months after she paid someone else to take the blame for her traffic offence.

What happened?

Lim was friends with the co-accused, 46-year-old Koh Chew Seng and his wife. Koh was managing a car rental company under Koheng Auto and told Lim to rent a car from his company and join him as a Grab driver.

Lim was ferrying a passenger in the rental car in May 2020 when she allegedly drove against the traffic flow to overtake another vehicle.

She barely avoided crashing and resulted in the other driver abruptly braking.

Koh then received a traffic police summons in June 2020, stating that his rented car had committed a traffic offence and the driver would get 6 demerit points and a fine of $200.

Koh then confronted Lim about it and she admitted to the offence, but she didn’t want to face the consequences because she didn’t want her license to be revoked.

After discussing, Koh then offered to find another driver to take the blame for her, and Lim had to pay him (Koh) $10,000.

Koh then pinned the blame on his wife after being unable to find drivers willing to take the blame, and his wife then received a summons letter.

Koh paid the fine of $200 and his wife then got the 6 demerit points on her license, without his wife or Lim knowing about it.

Wettest October in Four Decades with Wet Weather Expected to Continue in the First Half of November 2022

Inter-monsoon conditions have prevailed over Singapore in the second half of October 2022 and will likely persist into November 2022. The current wet weather is expected to continue, with thundery showers expected on most days in the first fortnight of November 2022.

2 With the monsoon rain band forecast to remain over the Southeast Asia region, Singapore can expect a continuation of wet days in the coming fortnight. During the period, thundery showers are forecast on most days. In the first week of November 2022, Sumatra squalls developing in the Strait of Malacca may bring widespread thundery showers with occasional gusty winds as they pass Singapore between the pre-dawn hours and morning on some days. In the latter half of the fortnight, afternoon thundery showers can be expected on most days, with the showers extending into the evening on a few days. The total rainfall for the first fortnight of November 2022 is forecast to be above average over most parts of the island.

3 During the fortnight, the daily temperature on most days is forecast to range between 24 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius. The wetter weather may bring relatively lower temperatures on a few days, with daily minimum temperatures below 23 degrees Celsius and daily maximum temperatures below 32 degrees Celsius.

5 In the second half of October 2022, Singapore and the surrounding region experienced inter-monsoon conditions. The low-level winds that blew predominantly from the southeast or southwest since June 2022 gradually weakened and became mostly light and variable in direction. The monsoon rain band remained close to the equatorial Southeast Asia region, and brought thundery showers over Singapore on most days in the second half of the month.

6 In October 2022, the influence of several tropical storms over the South China Sea and Western Pacific Ocean resulted in large-scale convergence of winds over Singapore and the surrounding vicinity. This led to the development of several Sumatra squalls that brought widespread showers and gusty winds over Singapore between the pre-dawn hours and morning on most days. Thundery showers also fell over the island on several afternoons and nights. The Sumatra squall which brought heavy thundery showers over many parts of Singapore in the morning of 5 October 2022 resulted in a daily total rainfall of 138.1mm recorded at Pasir Panjang. This was the highest daily total rainfall for October 2022.

7 Based on the rainfall averaged across the island-wide stations with long-term records since 1980, October 2022 is the wettest October in four decades, with a monthly total rainfall of 412.0mm. This exceeded the previous highest October rainfall of 389.3mm, which was recorded in October 2011. The Changi climate station experienced a total of 27 rain days in October 2022. This is the highest number of rain days occurring in October at the Changi climate station since the 1980s, and surpasses the previous record of 21 days observed in 1985 and 2003.

8 In October 2022, the daily maximum temperature was below 33 degrees Celsius on most days due to the rainy weather. The wet weather brought several days with cool night time temperatures. There were 23 days with daily minimum temperatures of 24 degrees Celsius or less. The temperature at Jurong Island dropped to 21.9 degrees Celsius during the showers on 12 October 2022. That was the lowest daily minimum temperature for October 2022.

9 Well above-average rainfall was received across the island in October 2022. The highest anomaly of 232 per cent above-average was recorded around the Kent Ridge area. The anomaly was lowest at Paya Lebar at 29 per cent above-average.
