26-year-old Jack Pang, shared how he had painstakingly saved the money that he made from selling used cardboard, and eventually managed to upgrade his Perodua Myvi to an Audi TT.
The Myvi was apparently a present from his dad when he was 19 years old, and he had just enrolled into the Segi University.
He worked hard to collect cardboard to sell over the next 4 years and he claimed that at the age of 23, he finally managed to save enough money to afford a secondhand Audi TT.
According to his Facebook profile, Pang is presently the marketing director, founder and CEO of JCJ Motorsport and Jack Automotive.
He added that he is still collecting and selling cardboard, and that he is saving up his earnings to upgrade his Audi further.
He also shared that he is looking to “upgrade” to a Volkswagen Golf GTI.

Facebook user Melvin Twj shared how he made an order for about $500+ worth of food from Shake Shack via Grabfood, and later found his order thrown away at a rubbish bin at Jewel Changi Airport.
Grab has since responded and said that they were aware of the incident, and following their investigations, have claimed that their delivery rider had followed Grab’s protocols in handling the situation by throwing away the order because the customer was allegedly uncontactable.
Grab said that on 11 August, the driver had picked up the order to the delivery address that was indicated, and had allegedly sent several messages to the customer through the Grab app to let him know that he was arriving soon, noting that the order was “large”.
Allegedly unreachable
The driver then reached the location but his calls were purportedly not answered by the customer, and Grab added that there was multiple attempts to reach the customer by the GrabFood support team and the driver.
The delivery location was also reportedly restricted to the public and as such, the driver was not able to enter the premises to look for the customer.
Grab further stated that there was “no safe place to leave the order and our delivery partner could not wait any longer” and that the driver was “advised to dispose of the order”.
Grab delivery drivers are advised to dispose their orders if the customer cannot be contacted at their stated location because it may affect their next food orders and earning opportunities.
Response to Grab
Tan responded to Grab saying that he didn’t receive any calls or messages from the driver, and that if he had opted for cash on delivery, the driver would have ensured the order was delivered.
Recap
Facebook user Melvin Twj shared how he made an order for about $500+ worth of food from Shake Shack via Grabfood, and later found his order thrown away at a rubbish bin at Jewel Changi Airport.
Here is what he said
On 11 Aug 2022, I made an order worth $500+ of Shake Shack through Grab but my food was not being sent and was found that the food was being disposed by the Grab driver. I contacted Grab for further enquires but Grab refused to refund me. Here is the story – On, 11 Aug 2022 I made an order worth of $500+ of Shake Shack using the Grab app at around 4pm. However, the food was not being sent at all even after waiting for about 2 hours. I decided to contact Grab and apparently I was being told that the Grab driver claimed that he had already delivered the food and has attached a picture to the Grab advisor claiming that the food has already been sent. When I saw the photo, the screenshot of the location was not at the designated area at all. Later on, we found out that the location that the rider “delivered” the food to was beside a rubbish bin at basement 2 carpark entrance Jewel, Changi Airport. 12 Aug I chatted with Grab via Chat to check on the progress on this issue. Grab mentioned that they were still checking on this and will get back to me within 24 – 48 hours. NOTE: Grab even reassured me that a full refund will be made. 15 Aug Grab called me and the Grab agent further explained that the Grab driver contacted them and told them that he was unable to find the location. But, the designated location can be easily found using Google Maps. The Grab agent then mentioned that they’ll check again and get back to me. 20 Aug But after a few days, another Grab advisor called me and told me a different story by stating that the Grab driver was WELL AWARE of the location but instead he was unable to contact me. But the strange thing was that there was no chat history found on my phone at all. Since the Grab driver did mentioned to Grab that he was able to find the location, I then checked the CCTV around the area in which the security mentioned that there was no sign of any unfamilar vehicle or driver near the designated location. I am puzzled as to why I was not being informed at all about the whereabouts of my food after waiting for more than 2 hours but the Grab agent claimed that the Grab driver actually tried to contact me. The Grab agent then advised the Grab driver to either disposed the food or leave it at a safe place. Even after explaining to the Grab agent about this issues, they still reiterate that NO refund will be MADE for this issue. 28 Aug The Grab duty manager contacted me and this time, he repeatedly told me that the Grab driver was instructed to either place the food at a safe place or to dispose the food. So the Grab driver has decided to DISPOSED the food instead of leaving it at a safe place which is the security guard post and also mentioned that they will not be refunding the money to me. Since the Grab driver was ABLE to find the location, why didn’t he leave the food with the security at the designated location? And if he decided to disposed the food, why would the Driver made such an effort to head back to Jewel and disposed the food??? The duty manager then mentioned that Grab is unable to refund me yet again the $500 and that he will continue to check further with the rider again. 1 Sept 2022 The Grab duty manager, Ahmad Fakhrurrazi Razi called me again, and he explained that the driver had already spoken to the Grab agent and the Grab agent actually suggested to dispose the item AT FIRST. However, driver raised a concern claiming that the food was of a high value which the Grab agent then suggested to leave the food at the security guard post. The driver then raised another concern stating that he was afraid that the food will be stolen at the security guard post. Hence, the Grab agent suggested that if there were no safe place around the location, dispose the items. The Grab driver then draw a conclusion that since there was NO safe place around the location, he decided to dispose the food which is worth an amount of $500+. So the question remains
Is the security guard post not deemed as a safe place?
Is the security guard post not considered a safe place even when there were security there?
Why would the driver made such a trip to the rubbish bin at basement 2 carpark entrance Jewel, Changi Airport just to dispose the food?
Why did the Grab driver claimed that he arrived at the designated location but chooses not to deliver the food?
Since The Grab agent told me that the Grab driver arrived at the location, why was i not informed and the CCTV did not captured anyone unfamiliar?
Why did the Grab driver did not tried to approach the security and leave the food there instead of making down to rubbish bin at basement 2 carpark entrance Jewel, Changi Airport just to dispose the food?
Since the Grab driver was well aware that the food was at a high value, what makes him think that he should dispose the food at rubbish bin at basement 2 carpark entrance Jewel, Changi Airport?
The Grab agent initially reassured me that a full refund will be made but when another Grab agent did a follow up about this issue, they told me that NO refund will be made? We have tried all ways to contact with different agents but the issue still can’t be resolved. Therefore I’m posting this on Facebook to gain more awareness on this situation. Also, I paid with grab wallet do you think will accept the fact that the driver disposed my food like that????? WTF!!!! What if i used cash on delivery instead do you think the driver will just dispose the food like that????? Just because it’s not the driver’s own money he can just simply dispose other people’s food. It’s straight up unprofessional, irresponsible and messed up!!!!
At the time of writing, there have been no official statements or reasons for temporarily suspending Singapore, yet.
It was previously announced by Taiwan on 5 September that Singapore was among a list of countries that was allowed visa-free entry.
It is unclear what sparked the u-turn in the decision.
Singapore was previously allowed to enter without a visa and stay for up to 30 days, according to the Taiwanese Central Epidemic Command Centre on 5 September.
Among the other countries that are now temporarily suspended from entering Taiwan visa-free, include:
Back story, me and my wife, both age 39 have been married for 10y, together for 14.
Now I have to be open about my failings to provide a fair picture, I have not always been the perfect husband, while I have never physically cheated, about 5-6 years ago I did allow another female friend to get far too close and that definitely caused some issues in our marriage.
My wife had mentioned numerous times that she was uncomfortable with the relationship and I didn’t respect her wishes until it was to late and damage had already been done. Now I live with that regret daily and work every day to show her she is all that matters to me. For the last 4+ years we have been working on our marriage and I honestly thought we were in a good spot and both happy.
About a month ago her phone was damaged and through the process of getting her a new phone, I came to learn that for the last year or so she has been talking to the guy she dated before we met.
What seemed to start as a once in a while how’s life going type Convo progressed to a talking everyday type situation. Now, keep in mind this is a person who up until finding this, I never knew the name, never knew he existed.
They seem to have become very close over the past year or so of talking as I saw pics indicating he knows details about our children, and she knows details about his friends and family that one would not normally know. I found pics sent between them and messages that I was not comfortable with, but nothing indicating anything physical had occurred, and in all fairness he lives a state away, they talk on social, text and phone.
However when I asked her about who the person was she lied saying just someone she talks to once in a while.
And her biggest concern was if I was going to reach out to him or his wife, supposedly he is getting divorced and that’s why he reached out to her to talk about the divorce. As a result of the discussions that occurred the next couple days, I told her that I felt she was betraying me and had blown my trust I wasn’t comfortable and wanted him removed and blocked from her life (something I have never said or asked for once in our entire relationship) she was unwillingly saying I was controlling but gave me her word that she wouldn’t talk to him anymore. I told her I was going to try my best to trust her to do that and I would move on.
Now about a month later I find out that they are still talking, although I don’t yet know how often. I haven’t told her I know they are still talking yet, but inside I’m pretty upset. Am I being unreasonable? Am I the asshole for having an issue with what she claims is just a friendship? And now being even more upset that she told me she would stop and didn’t? Or am I just a hypocrite for having done worse? So at this point I’m giving her a choice him or me and there is no option where both are in her life.
A 42-year-old man from Myanmar, Maung Maung Aung Soe Thu, was thrown off his bicycle after the front wheel of his bicycle got stuck in a drain cover, in an incident that happened last year.
He ended up being sent to the hospital after suffering multiple injuries and is now suing the Public Utilities Board (PUB) for negligence.
The incident happened on 16 January 2021 along the Changi Point Coastal Walk, where he was cycling at the time.
Knocked out cold
The front wheel of his bicycle then got stuck in a drain cover that was beside the road, and he ended up being thrown off his bicycle.
Maung lost consciousness for a while and he was then sent to Changi General Hospital for emergency treatment after that.
Shin Min Daily News reported that he suffered multiple facial fractures, trauma to his spine and a “subarachnoid haemorrhage”, as well as having weakness in both his feet and right hand.
He was also left with scars from the wounds that he sustained from the accident.
Didn’t see the drain cover
Maung said in his written statement to the court that the dried leaves on the road obscured his view of the gap in the drain cover, and that he didn’t see the drain cover as he had turned his head to check for traffic.
His lawyer also added that the gaps in the drain were parallel to the road and inconsistent, and insisted that PUB be liable for the accident.
No complaints since 2000
PUB’s lawyers argued that they had no complaints about the drain covers along that stretch of road since it was constructed in 2000, and that in the last 10 years, there were only 12 verified accidents caused by drain covers.
And of the 12 incidents, only 5 involved cyclists (including Maung) and 4 out of the 5 cyclists sustained minor injuries.
They also pointed out that Maung had neglected his own safety by cycling on the road instead of on the park connector.
Over the course of the past two months, I made several big mistakes that caused the company to lose money, and/or caused my boss unnecessary stress.
Today, I overheard from HR that I’m to be fired at the end of the week. Meaning I will be out of a job.
With this being my first and only job out of uni, I would have no references from anyone in the industry (since I’m getting fired from the only job I had). I originally got this job as a job placement through the school.
My entire uni program was specialized in this field, so I have no other experience.
Getting fired clearly is a red flag for any future potential employers, and with the current economy and the tough competition, there’s no way that I’m finding a job in the industry.
I feel that I’ve invested too much of my life in this industry to give up on it now, but I am clearly now stuck at this dead end.
How does anyone rebound from this? Does anyone have any similar experiences that they would be willing/able to share?
Your help would be much appreciated.
Here are what netizens think:
I have been fired at least six times. I’m a better employee now. It’s not the end of the world.
Life will go on. It’s just a job. If your next (potential) employer asks just tell the truth, that you’ve learned from your mistakes and he’ll benefit from the other guys misfortune.
In some cases I was simply forthright and admitted my mistakes. I was prepared to discuss what I had learned from the experience. Sometimes that meant I had to accept a 90 day probation, but I could get the job.
Anyway, my policy is to always lie about why I left the job. I think pretty much no employer is going to hire you after you were fired if they know about it. You have to be creative, but usually you can find some spin about why you left and just pray they are one of the many employers that is too lazy to check your references.
Facebook user Sathish Shiva shared how he bought something from e-commerce site Shein and when his parcel from China arrived, it came with an unwelcome hitchhiker.
He shared a photo of what he says is a stinkbug, which “doesn’t bite” but can cause rashes and reproduce very quickly and cause an infestation in the house.
He added that the bug is native to China and it is likely that it hitched a ride in one of their parcels.
Here is what he said
Please be careful when handling parcels from Shien.
I found this insect in my house but this species is native to China. It is highly likely that it hitched a ride in one of our deliveries.
This species of stinkbug doesnt bite, but can cause rashes. Worse, it can reproduce very quickly and cause an infestation in the house without knowing.
Better to put your new clothes from shien to wash just in case before you wear them. Actually just double check any deliveries from China, be it Shien/Shopee/Lazada.

Omgggggg this is soooooo scary !!!! How did u know it’s from SHEIN ? It came out from a new baju ?
(OP) I’m not 100% sure, but I only started seeing this after I and my wife ordered from shien. It is highly likely it came from one of the parcels. It is known to hitch a ride in parcels from China. Its one of the pests listed worldwide.
Facebook user Dan Yeo shared how he didn’t do a proper check when receiving his rental car from GETGO, only checking the driver’s side of the car before driving off with it.
He later found out that there were damages on the bumper on the other side that he didn’t notice, and was charged $2,187.80 for damages.
He asked if it was “fair” to be charged for the damages caused by other people despite not checking the car for damages when he received it.
Here is what he said
THE MOST MISFORTUNATE EXPERIENCE WITH GETGO.
In August, I’ve rented a car from GETGO. Prior to starting my trip, I’d only checked for damages on driver’s side of the car as I was in a hurry for my appointment.
While i was at the car petrol station for a petrol refuel, I overheard someone saying that my rented car was quite bad, I walked over to the passenger seat side and got a big shock and realised the front bumper was dislodged and there were some scratches too.
I panicked and was enraged with myself as I did not do my due diligence to check the entire car. However I immediately reported this issue with a photo through via their live chat, and informed that I only found out the damages there and then.
The person advised to report this when I end my trip. After getgo “investigations”, they have deduced that I’d caused the damages and I’ll be liable for the repair cost that amount to $2187.80.
Despite highlighting to them numerous times that the damages were not caused by me and with my request for the team to re-investigate into this matter by retrieving the car park cctv footage, they simply ignore it and kept reiterating for me to pay the fee.
If the damages were done by me I will take responsible to pay for it, but it’s not! Getgo will be getting their legal debt collectors to deal with this case.
I think it is totally unfair, as I felt I’m being pushed as a scapegoat that Getgo is not reviewing this fairly. It can be easily reviewed to prove my innocence but GetGo is reluctant to do anything for a customer.
Do you think it is fair and GetGo still deserve the trust of existing and new riders? No! Would appreciate it if anyone could share advices or steps to take on this if you were caught up in my situation.

Where got such thing ler the car so rabak how can u not see? Even if i was going to rent i will see front and back just nearby only late late lor safety first if u really want to avoid made a police report or email hdb or what .
Eh bro, u never do diligent check is your own mistake leh. It is in your interest to go retrieve cctv footage etc etc evidence leh, not the responsibility of Getgo.
Before booking the car, there would be a prompt telling you to check if the condition is OK and if it’s not, you have to take a picture of the damaged parts under “report a problem”. This ensures that the car was damaged before you drive
When using any car rental, take pics even if you’re in a rush. Late never mind, they accuse you of damaging surely GG. Expensive lesson…
I rented on daily basis before. Wont be surprised to see new dents daily. Some dents even at a rather near same spot! Always take photo to cover your backside la.. Before u start the apps already asked u upload photo of car. You can check 1 side, what’s checking another 2 sides??? Zzz
My sister is a very money-driven person. As soon as she finds out that someone is earning more than her she would like to change jobs and tell that person that she is the one who deserves more.
Funnily enough, this happened a few months ago and she is now changing from a florist to a caregiver because she earns more or so she says.
Anyway, my sister has asked me several times over the past few months what my current salary is and how much of a mortgage my girlfriend and I can get together since we’re looking for a house and want to live on our own between now and august 2023 (if everything goes well).
I find this rude. I also say every time she asks that she has nothing to do with this. Then she gets outraged and makes a fuss. Because how stupid I am not to tell her that. I often tried to say things like “Oh I don’t know” or “Haven’t checked in a while” but I feel like I’m running out of options (or rather excuses).
I am also afraid that she will be unable to take it if she knows what I work as and how much I’m actually earning. I am working as an investment banker.
How should I deal with her? Because it does feel that way to me sometimes. My parents often (not always) agree with my sister and want me just to tell her, but I don’t want to.
LinkedIn user Louie Lui shared how he and his wife wanted to place an order via GrabFood for the same stall at the same time on their respective Grab apps.
He said that he was a monthly subscriber of Grab where he gets a $4 coupon off delivery while his wife isn’t subscribed.
However, he compared their delivery charges and found out that he was charged more than his wife for the delivery fee, at $7 and $3.50 respectively.
Here is what he said
Scummy or smart move from Grab?
My wife was going to order some food, and I thought – hey I should do it instead, because I am a monthly subscriber of Grab where I get a coupon for $4 off delivery (there’s a minimum spend).
So I keyed in the exact same food from the same stall, and note this:
Same stall Same distance Same time Huge difference in delivery fee.
Me, a subscriber, is shown a delivery fee of $7 My wife, a non subscriber, is being shown a delivery fee of $3.50
Now that’s a 100% inflation in delivery fee.
I refreshed the app on both phones, did everything I could. Still the same. It wasn’t a surge pricing, it was a price catered to me, the subscriber with a $4 voucher.
I get that algorithms are useful, and that Grab is a for-profit company.
But I don’t know what to make of this situation now that it’s discovered.
What do you think? Are they smart, or just scummy?
P.S. I ordered the food anyway. Happy wife, happy life.
