MUM SHAMES DAUGHTER FOR BEING SKINNY, DAUGHTER HITS BACK & CALLS MUM “FAT”

0

mother body shammed me then i did it back.

so me and my mother were arguing in the car, my mother is overly jealous, and tends to always have negative to say about my relationship with my boyfriend

it has been going on for months and it really upsets me. especially if it’s not true.

during that argument my mom slides in the argument talking about how skinny i am, when the argument wasn’t even about my weight nor my body. it should’ve never been said, by her. i then said it back on how fat she was as well. and now she’s upset lol.

i don’t know if i’m in the wrong here. but my dad is now forcing me to apologize to my mother when she was the one who started it with me.

my dad never holds anything she does accountable. he thinks it’s okay for a parent to disrespect a child, but they want the child to not stand up for themselves. they just want to walk all over us.

Netizens’ comments

Body shaming in general is wrong and two wrongs don’t make a right… with that said your parents are highly hypocritical and need a rude awakening. It’s not right for her(your mother, a grown adult) to needlessly pick fights and shame you and your dad needs to hold her accountable for what she said. He should be trying to coerce you both into apologizing and treat each other with respect not reinforcing her bad behavior.

GF CAUGHT BF SLEEPING WITH HER FRIEND BECAUSE OF HIS GRAB RECEIPTS

0

I celebrated my birthday with my boyfriend last week, and to be honest it was a really lovely celebration. He bought me a purse of my favourite brand and I really love the design, although I didn’t give him any hint or show him that my purse is no longer in good condition.

Also, he treated me to a fancy hotel buffet dinner and we spent one romantic night together in that hotel too. Everything went pretty well, and I felt so grateful to have such a lovely boyfriend until yesterday I went into rage mode.

It pissed me off to the point that I really considered breaking up with him and unfriending my bestie.

I found out that one night during the CB period, he actually went over to my female bestie’s room. Let’s call her A.

This is pretty much our dialogue when I confronted him:

Me: Why did you go over to A’s room?

Bf: I went there just to get more information from her so that I know what to get you for your birthday.

Me: Ok but why did you go at night? Why not during the day? (yes I know, S doesn’t happen only at night).

Bf: It’s risky to go over to her room during the day cos the residential staff were working, and I can only go over when you’re asleep, if not I wouldn’t be able to talk or text you if I was at her place during the day.

Me: Why can’t you just text her? Why must you go over to her place to talk? Why can’t talk over the phone?

Bf: Stunned for a few seconds …… bcos it’s difficult to talk over the phone and it’s better if she can show me what you like on the spot.

Me: There is such a thing called the internet, and she can clearly send you the link to show you right?

Bf: Ya I know, but there will be a lot of communication interruption if we don’t meet face to face and talk about it.

Me: So how long did you need to discuss about my birthday pressie?

Bf: I’m not sure, but not that long la, about 1-2 hours.

Me: So you went to A’s place after our goodnight text for just 1-2 hours?

Bf: Ya.

Me: Can you explain to me why your Grab receipt stated that your ride back home was at 10:30 am? That’s like more than 1-2 hours.

Bf: I mean ya it was a short discussion, but we also got to eat some food, she cooked for me, and since it was too late and I was tired, so she said why not just stayover for another few more hours and go home in the morning instead.

Me: But why did you tell me that you were only there for 1-2 hours in the first place? You didn’t tell me that you slept at her place!

Bf: I thought you were asking me how long we took to discuss your pressie, not how long I was there.

Speaking of the Grab receipt, I have a habit of recording my expenses, so I just wanted to record down our cab fares, so he let me open his email to check our Grab receipts, and just so coincident I found out that this trip doesn’t look familiar to me.

I highly doubted that nothing happened between him and A. My bestie A is single and she does ONS and has fwb every now and then. As a bestie, I also shared with her my S life with my boyfriend and how good his ability is compared to my exes and how many rounds he can deliver in a single night.

A was quite surprised and she seemed to admire me at some point. Since both of them have high drive, don’t you think they might have S that night?

Please drop some helpful comments and advice. I really need to know if I should break up with him.

AUNTIE CASUALLY CUTS GIRL’S QUEUE AT S’PORE POOLS BY GOING STRAIGHT TO COUNTER

0

I was queuing up to buy toto when I notice 1 aunty walk to the counter, and just purchase her ticket.

The person behind her said nothing. While observing her, another aunty stood infront of me and just casually say she was infront of me.

Me being dumb, I told her I was in front and the queue is at the back. She insisted that she was in front of me. I stood my ground and told her I was here all along.

However the old uncle behind me allow her to stand infront of him without making any noise.

Is it norm to cut queue and is it taboo to make any noise. Nobody seem to say anything when their queue was cut.

Ps: The queue wasn’t long at all.

Netizens’ comments

  • When they make you believe all old people deserve your respect, this happens
  • You need to hit the aunty where it hurts. Just tell her, you buy faster also doesn’t mean you are gonna win. She confirm butt hurt by your comment.
  • Typical boomer mindset, “I am older than you, therefore I am always right and I can do whatever I want. And if you call me out for it, you’re the problem”.
  • Why even queue up to buy TOTO when there’s SingaporePool’s online website and app? You seriously believe in the whole “go to an auspicious SingaporePools outlet to buy TOTO sure strike” folklore?

FRESH GRAD LOST AFTER TAKING TOO MUCH ADVICE & DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO WORK AS

0

I am graduating soon and I am lost. Every person I ask tells me not to do whatever they are doing.

A doctor tells me not to be a doctor because of the working hours and residency slavery.

A police officer tells me not to be one because of the long and super elastic working hours, the politics in government offices and the mountains of government paperwork.

A teacher tells me not to be a teacher because of the never-ending paperwork, marking, planning, promotion politics, parent complaints and behavioural issues.

An engineer tells me not to be an engineer because of the long and super elastic working hours, the supervisor problems, the on-site problems, communication problems with foreign workers and terrible pay.

A cook tells me not to join the kitchen because of the long working hours, the heat, the rough environment and peanuts pay.

An admin executive tells me not to join the desk-bound force because of the boring paperwork, the endless calls and emails, the endless customer service and the need to consistently doll up to impress or be prepared to have people talk behind your back on your “terrible” dress sense. Not to mention the “har?? you are only an admin ah. Aiya poly also can do. Nothing one lah. No skill also can do. The degree is just for show. Whatever you are doing can learn on the job. Pay now and bad increment.”

A lawyer tells me not to enter the legal scene because of the super high stress, endless paperwork and dark trade secrets.

A musician tells me not to go on stage because of the peanuts pay, lack of respect because…you are just a musician right?! What do you do ?! That’s what they said.

An analyst tells me not to be an analyst because of the endless data search, data sorting, data analysis report writing, presentation..”the amount of data analysis reports expected of you will make you cry. Be prepared to burn both Sat and Sun.”

It seems to me that every job is bad. Every job has long hours, mountains of paperwork and high stress which their wages HARDLY and POORLY justify. Even for lawyers and doctors, for the amount of work and skyhigh god-like morale they are expected to uphold.

So why do we think that other people’s jobs are easier than ours???

Which path should I persue? Every path seems to have naysayers. For me, I want to be a chef and I can already hear what others will say about it.

Maybe I should just cook at home, for my friends and family. But even so, I plan to persue a culinary diploma and degree. Not because I need the certs to be a chef…even if I dont become a chef, I wanna make my cooking serious. I wanna learn the best practices. If I dont become a chef, what career is good

MAN CAN’T FIND EMPLOYMENT 6 MONTHS AFTER RELEASE FROM PRISON, LEFT $20 IN BANK

0

A netizen shared how he was released from prison about half a year ago, and has been struggling to find full time employment ever since.

here is what he said

“I’m not ashamed of my past: every saint got a past, every sinner got a future.

I did time in prison for assault, I whacked this guy until he ended up in the hospital because he slept with my girlfriend at the time.

I am ashamed of my actions and have served my punishment, I’m trying to move on with my life now and doing my best to raise my 2 year old daughter as a single father.

But it hasn’t been easy to secure employment due to my conviction, I can’t get a decent full time job, even with my aviation engineering diploma.

The last time I held proper employment was before I was jailed, and I have been doing Grabfood these few months to get by.

Our expenses have been eating most of my salary from Grab, and much as I want to chiong Grab delivery, I really can’t because I still have to take care of my daughter.

I make about $1.5k every month, and after paying for the bills, food, diapers, nursery fees, babysitter (there’s no one to care for my daughter) toys, and etc, I’m left with practically nothing.

I work in the day time and at night I keep sending out dozens and dozens of my resume, hoping to secure employment.

in all of my employment applications, I am honest about my conviction because they are gonna check anyway, so might as well be honest.

Maybe it is one of the reasons why my employment keep getting rejected, meanwhile i am down to my last dollars – i have about $23 left in my bank account.

I don’t know how to get by and I have a daughter to feed, and my parents are out of the picture, they passed away a few years ago.

My ex-girlfriend is also out of the picture, god knows where the f she disappeared to with that other man…”

GRAB DRIVER DROVE OFF WITHOUT PASSENGER AND MARKS TRIIP AS COMPLETED

0

One day I decided to sleep in a while more and take grab to the workplace at Tuas instead of MRT cos why not? Once a month thing not everyday oso so treat yourself.

So i booked a grab and went down to wait for the driver. So the driver came but he went past me. I tot he was making a u-turn at the roundabout so I waited for him to turn. And then to my horror, he just zoom past me and my ride is gone.

Turns out he cancelled my trip and grab reconnected me to a new driver like 5 min away. I thot still okay maybe can make it in time bcos it was like 840 already and my internship starts at 9!

After a considerable amount of waiting time, the second Grab driver came and he reversed into the parking lot 10 meters away from where I was standing. So I walked over to his car. Just when I was literately standing beside his car he drove off. Again! The second grab driver just drove off without me in like the last 5 mins. The worst thing is he didn’t cancel the ride and it is counted as I was in his car.

So I couldn’t rebook a new grab ride!?!?! Wtf my money and time all fly away alr

In the end, i gave up and decided to take the MRT again (while i was apprently still in the grab car??). Needless to say i was late, i reached pioneer mrt at 9am.

So ofc I contacted grab to complain and get my money back. The “excuse” that grab gave me was that the (second) driver picked up the wrong rider that’s why he counted it as a trip and never cancel even tho I wasn’t inside.

What bs is that sia

1) no one entered his car at all lo. I have the full view of his car when i was walking over and when he drive off got no one inside.

2) im really concerned abt the supposed “rider” that they kidnapped and send to tuas by accident? Like how traumatising must it be to find urself in the middle of tuas. It is v difficult to get a ride out of tuas unless u know the way out.

Welp thats all folks. Jus sharing my story for fun and laughter bcos sharing is caring. Stay safe and stay healthy everyone”

GUY’S SIAMBU GF DUMPS HIM FOR ANOTHER MAN WHO HANG $2K FLOWER FOR HER

0

A netizen shared how his siambu girlfriend that he met at a siamdiu, dumped him for another man who hanged $2,000 flowers for her and bought her many gifts.

Here is what he said

“I really regret all the times I kept proclaiming to my friends “siam diu for life, siam bu for wife”, I’m done with them, those gold diggers.

I met Sarai at a Siam Diu in Golden Mile a while back while drinking and we got on really well, before I mustered up the courage to ask her to be my girlfriend.

Everything was going really well, we went out for meals, movies, even bought a puppy together which we keep at my home.

I really thought she was the one and we were already planning a future together, until she revealed her true colours and I saw her for what she really is, a gold digger.

She was working one night at the disc, and I was there with my friends, when she went up on stage to perform and I hung her $200 flower to support her.

This yao siu kia sitting 3 tables across from me go and hang her $2,000, and the whole night Sarai sat with him and entertained him.

She started ghosting me and stopped replying my texts, answering my calls, over the next few days. Then last night she texted me saying she doesn’t love me anymore and wants to break up.

I went on her Instagram and saw her kissing that other guy with 3 heart emojis, I was like smlj, WE JUST BROKE UP 4 HOURS AGO.

Really, I’m done. Don’t expect to see me at Golden Mile anymore, or any Siam Dius for that matter. I quit, I’m done.”

Editor’s notes: Come lah, we go library read book instead

MAN OFFERED $150K JOB OVERSEAS, WIFE UNSUPPORTIVE DESPITE NEEDING THE MONEY

0

Incredibly long story here. I recieved a job offer from an investment company which is going to be incredibly lucrative financially.

But it would mean I would have to be away from my wife for 6 months to a year for training as I have to fly to New York.

I could stay here in Singapore to look for a job that will never pay me anything close to this kind of salary.

My wife and I lived in one regular HDB 4 room but we do not have any kids. This job is offering up to a 150k a year and wonderful retirement. I could finally have the financial security I’ve looked for so long. My wife doesn’t think our marriage could last that long and she doesn’t want to do long distance again.

Am I in the wrong for still wanting to take the job?

I ensured her that there will be a lot of open communication and I will be in regular contact with her. But she is not taking this positively. The second reason I need this job is because I needed money to repay a debt and if we were to have children we will need even more money.

We did a calculation, after paying off debts we will still be struggling 10 years from today.

What is the most helpful thing to sustain a long-distance relationship?

WOMAN THOUGHT SHE WAS MOLESTED BY GHOST TURNS OUT IT’S HER LANDLORD

0

Renting a home is not just for foreigners but also youngsters who wished to move out. It is going to be a more and more common practice as many people prefer ‘freedom’.

However, those who legitimately rent a place in Singapore as they are working here often have all sorts of stories about crazy landlords.

In this story a perverted one.

Landlord Charged

According to Shin Min Daily News, The girl and her boyfriend rented a place together. One night in June last year, she was touched while sleeping in the house.

When she woke up, she found a “shadow” standing beside the bed. Because of her boyfriend’s bald head, “Black Shadow” has hair, which makes the girl puzzled.

The boyfriend returned to the room after showering. After learning about the incident, he asked whether his girlfriend had encountered a “little ghost”, pointing out that he suspected that the landlord and his wife had the habit of raising “little ghosts”.

The two later secretly installed a CCTV. The girl was touched again in August, and the person who entered the room happened to be the landlord.

Yesterday(Aug 30), the landlord has been charged in court, but he has pleaded not guilty and the trial is still ongoing.

What is a ‘little ghost’?

According to folklore, there are primarily known as ‘Kum Mantong’, ‘little ghost’ or sometimes known as ‘toyol’.

Various cultures believed that they are able to attend wealth and success by giving the ‘ghost’ an offering.

SCAMMERS “HIRING” VICTIMS TO RATE APPS, MORE THAN $780K LOST SINCE APRIL

0

The Police would like to alert the public to a variant of job scam where victims participated in jobs requiring prepayments to rate applications. Subsequently, victims were unable to withdraw their commissions. Since April 2022, there have been at least 43 victims, with losses amounting to at least $781,000.

In these cases, scammers would reach out to victims via online messaging applications such as Whatsapp. Scammers would inform victims that they could earn commission by rating applications.

Once victims agree to the job offer, they would be provided with a website link to register an account and instructed to top it up by transferring cash into bank accounts maintained by persons unknown to them.

After the cash transfer, the equivalent USDT would be reflected in victims’ accounts, and they could then start rating the applications.

Rating an application would cost victims some USDT, and once the account of the victims depletes, they would be instructed to top up their account again by transferring cash to another unknown person.

Initially, victims would be able to withdraw their commissions, which convinced them that the work was legitimate.

However, victims would later discover that they were unable to withdraw their commission and realise they had been scammed.

The Police would like to advise members of the public to adopt the following precautionary measures:

• Do not accept dubious job offers that offer lucrative returns for minimal effort;

• Never download applications from unverified sources; and

• Never send money to anyone whom you do not know or have not met in person before.

If you have information related to such crimes or if you are in doubt, please call the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000, or submit it online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness. Please dial ‘999’ if you require urgent Police assistance.

For more information on scams, members of the public can visit www.scamalert.sg or call the Anti-Scam Hotline at 1800-722-6688. Join the ‘Spot the Signs. Stop the Crimes’ campaign at www.scamalert.sg/fight by signing up as an advocate to receive up-to-date messages and share them with your family and friends. Together, we can help stop scams and prevent our loved ones from becoming the next victim.
