My GF and I have been dating for a little more than 3 years We are both in our early 30s.
We never have had any fights and if we are ever in an argument, we try to talk through it by listening to each others’ side of story and always figure things out.
I know that she loves me a lot and I love her as well, and I completely trust her. But today she told me something that I have trouble understanding.
She went out to lunch with her work colleague today, and when she told me about it, I was a bit taken back. This isn’t the first time this has happened though, she has been having coffee/lunch alone with her boss as well but I thought it was something she couldn’t avoid.
What I don’t understand is that she does not see this as a bad thing. She is from Italy and apparently, it is socially unacceptable and frowned upon to turn down an invitation.
But going out to lunch alone with the opposite gender when you’re in a committed relationship is something I cannot comprehend. I tried explaining it to her that this is not normal from my understanding, but she insists that it is normal.
I am a bit upset and trying to figure out if I am incorrect for thinking this is wrong?

I married my husband (46m) when he was overweight, but still athletic, very mobile, employed and a fully functioning man. We tried to have a baby pretty early into our marriage but we had no luck and then Covid hit.
He was WFH as was I, and while he was chained to his desk for 9-10 hours, I would take my meetings on a walk, and spend very little time sitting at a desk. When I did need to be at my computer, I invested in a standing desk and small treadmill. I have always been on the chubby side of a normal weight, but took this opportunity to get fitter. My husband did the opposite.
We switched off cooking, I made healthier stuff but he didn’t. It got to the point where we made separate meals. Our S life died completely. He switched from the desk to our bed when his chair broke.
He weighs at least 200kg now. He’s diabetic, has ulcers on his body, can’t wipe himself clean, and showers twice a week now. He’s not bed bound yet but he certainly acts like it. In the past six months I’ve been doing all the cooking and can’t understand why he’s getting bigger. I found out he’s been call Grab Food hundreds of dollars of food when I’m out.
I told him enough. Our marriage is dead right now, it’s all about taking care of him, coddling him, making sure he’s okay. I am exhausted. I’m also not doing it anymore.
I told him that there will be no more outside food in the house. I cook three times a day, enough for two people, and that’s it. I keep limited food in the house. He and I eat 1200 to 1600 calories a day.
He is accusing me of starvation. I told him he can either lose the weight with me, check himself into a care facility, or we can get divorced and he can eat himself to death. Those are his choices. We are barely speaking unless he decides to scream at me. I’m at the point where I’m ready to be done entirely. He’s this emotional and physical blob of a man who brings nothing to the table.
We have separate finances and the house is his, I have been slowly packing all my stuff and putting it in storage. I am interviewing for international jobs and once I land one, I am out.

He then asks the other officer, “so how?”
The NEA officer then tried to explain to him what he did wrong, to which the man replied: “No no no, my question is, why we cannot smoke under the block. Please *unintelligible*
The officer then tried to tell him that it’s the law, to which the man then replied: “I’m not Singaporean but of- law is law lah but, before you give the law there is a reason behind right? Am I right (SIC)?”
The officer then tried to explain again but to no avail, as the stubborn man then retorted: “Excuse me sir, my reason is because this is for everybody. (SIC)”
The racist man then turned his camera towards the other officer, saying:
“Ah neh! India right? Malaysian ah? Okay, you Malaysian right, okay NEA officer right? Now tell me, you Malaysia right? You go one side. You Malaysian you come to Malaysian- you want to catch Singaporeans to smoke under the block, so what is the reason. Why we cannot smoke under the block. (SIC)”

A man shared his story of how his girlfriend made use of her position in her relationship and forces him to buy car insurance from her “friend”.

I have been with my girlfriend for 6 months and it has been a rough journey as sometimes she spends to too much and expects me to pay for her.
So it was time to renew my car insurance and my girlfriend was with me. She stated that she knows of a company that has the cheapest easy-to-claim car insurance.
So I did not think much of it and listened to her as she was quite persistent.
So she gave me a number on Whatsapp and said that this 3rd party agent will help me find the best insurance in town. I drive a BMW 4 420i.
So I texted the number gave my details and it came back with a car insurance quote of about $1800 and said that to secure the promo I would need to pay by today.
I could not make payment as my bank dongle needs to replace as it is not working and I can’t add new payees nor can I paynow as my limit was set to $1000.
So I transferred the money to my girlfriend’s account and told her to pay the insurance salesman.
However, after transferring the money to her she went MIA on me.
She replied a day later stating that she did not look at her phone and thought that her pay day came early and she has already used the money to pay for her bills and cosmetics.
I accused her of lying as I knew she had money issues, it was mid month and her payday is end of the month.
She insisted that she was not lying and I think back, She doesn’t have a driving license and should not know about stuff relating to car insurance. (She doesn’t know the difference between an Audi and a Honda, She thinks all from Japan) why was she so persistent for me to get the insurance from her.
Abit of background, she knew that my dongle is not working and the other person on Whatsapp is probably her friend and the whole thing was a plot for me to transfer the money to her.
We eventually broke off and I had to pay my “car insurance” again.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has been alerted that a one-and-a-half-year-old male Singaporean who had a COVID-19 infection has passed away on 27 June 2022.
The cause of death was Encephalitis due to COVID-19, Respiratory Syncytial Virus and Enterovirus infections.
First death under 12 years old
This is Singapore’s first death caused by COVID in a patient aged below 12 years old.
The patient had no other past medical history and was previously well. He presented at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) Children’s Emergency Department on the night of 21 June 2022 with a high fever and recurrent seizures, with a subsequent drop in consciousness.
He was admitted to the Children’s Intensive Care Unit in critical condition on 22 June 2022, and was diagnosed with severe Meningoencephalitis. The polymerase chain reaction test for the patient was positive for COVID-19 as well as two other viruses – Rhinovirus/Enterovirus and Respiratory Syncytial Virus.

COVID-19 can result in severe disease, even in children and those without pre-existing medical conditions. Vaccination substantially reduces the likelihood of severe disease when one is infected. All children aged 5 to 11 years are recommended to be vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccine, especially children with underlying chronic medical conditions. A Facebook user, Celeste Azure Tan, shared how she ordered a wedding cake from Carousell for her wedding and on her wedding day, the baker told her that he can’t deliver the cake.
She also added that the baker allegedly kept delaying to provide a receipt or invoice for her order after pushing for payment from her.
Tan also added that after the delivery failure, the baker allegedly only partially refunded her the money after 2 weeks of pressing him for the refund.
She also added that she found out form other Carousell users that they also experienced similar situations with the baker.

Since young, my dream has always been to have a real wedding cake at my own wedding. So when I got hitched, I was excited and went to search for wedding cakes. We wanted to support home-based businesses that were halal and also reasonable pricing. I saw beautiful ones in this carousell listing under crisp.crumb.
Though it had 1 negative review, the rest were positive. I also searched online that it was a registered business. The seller was friendly and when asked about the negative review, he said there will be back up bakers if anything happened. We got a wedding cake with macarons.
He kept pushing for payment and after payment, he was much less responsive. He kept delaying giving me a receipt/invoice for my order.
A few days before the wedding, I texted him again to finalize the details, no reply. I texted him again the day before, no reply. Finally, on my actual wedding day at 5am, he texted me he could not deliver. There were no back up bakers. And no proof he had Covid. I was very sad and my husband was very angry.
My family had to scramble to get macarons as they were to be used as wedding favours. And we had to pay much more because of the last-minute order.
After that, he only gave back a partial refund and after 2 weeks of constant chasing and him constantly delaying, he proceed to refund the rest.
Honestly, this was a very terrible experience for my husband and I. There was no explanation for why there were no back up bakers, no proof of having covid. I do think as a business, this was not done ethically and had poor service recovery. We could have asked for greater compensation regarding the psychological stress faced on the day itself, the stress that my family had to go through to find replacement macarons and the overall negative emotions faced on the day itself. I do hope this news gets out there so consumers like me will not face similar situations

1. 1 ordered a wedding earl grey milk chocolate cake with macarons and only a burnt butter cake came (Wrong cake, missing macarons, no refund)
2. Another individual’s gender reveal cake was ruined and the design looked vastly different from the picture
3. 1 person ordered macarons for a special and important work event but was cancelled a day before
4. Another person’s cake was late and the cake was badly burnt inside
I found out from one of them that the person is probably a finalist in a baking competition previously.
Many people’s cakes were ruined for their special days and it is important that others are warned of this unethical baker.

Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said that there is no need to tighten safe management measures at the moment, however as more Covid infections are being reported, it cannot be ruled out.
Wong was speaking to the media following a tour of a mobile vaccination centre at Nee Soon Central, and he announced that all households will be receiving 10 ART test kits, with the distribution set to start in July.
