The duty-unpaid cigarettes were uncovered when officers conducted checks on the lorry carrying a consignment of “empty bottles and bottle caps”. The case was referred to Singapore Customs for further investigation.

The cigarettes were stored in carton boxes and entered Singapore via Tuas Checkpoint.

Penalties

Buying, selling, conveying, delivering, storing, keeping, having in possession or dealing with duty-unpaid goods are serious offences under the Customs Act and the GST Act.

Offenders can be fined up to 40 times the amount of duty and GST evaded and/or jailed for up to six years. Vehicles used in the commission of such offences are also liable to be forfeited.

GUY’S GF STILL MEETING HER SUGAR DADDY, TELLS HIM “IT’S JUST S- WHAT”

0

I’m not sure where or who to turn to. I’m in my early 30s and I’m dating a really young girl and shes still in uni, early 20s. Im earning around 5k-ish and whenever we go out, I’ll always pay for her. We hardly visit kopitiams and its always like cafes or restaurants. We didnt really have any official title but she got mad when she see that i still have dating apps in my phone and when my previous fwb sent me nudes.

We started off hooking up but slowly we met up more frequently cause i guess we enjoyed each other’s company? It became close to 5 or 6 months now and i have never been so ready and decisive when it comes to a relationship/girl.

Some context, before me she was hooking up and had sugar daddies. When i wanted exclusivity or i thought we were, we had a conversation and she confessed that earlier on she went to meet her ex fwb for a last f**k cause she liked him and thought that he would come back for her; nope. Then shortly later she popped the question to me to ask if i was okay with her having a sugar daddy and it was all for money. I asked her, did i ever say no when you want to go places? Nope. You want i can buy you branded bags and stuff every quarterly. She say she didnt want my money.

Fast forward now, she is still in contact with that sugar daddy who pays her close to my amount. Despite not feeling remorse of what she did to me, she even had the cheek to ask me to allow her to continue and she will love me wholeheartedly when she cheated behind my back with 2 different guys.

She told me, “its just s– what. Plus its protected. I wont love that guy and i will never be tgt with him.”

Im conflicted, i know its easy money, am i not open minded enough? Is it me thats obstructing this relationship here. Throughout the recent convo we had, she didnt mention anything about my feelings, it was guy A, guy B etc what about him, how poor thing he is etc. What about me? Am i not a human at all? Do i not have feelings?

So much when i say okay meet him lesser times and when that guy gave up he wanted to give in to us. She was upset and made it seem like its my fault. “See la, money gone like that”

What am i suppose to do? I am really at wits end. I really love her alot. So much so i told her lets start afresh. I will close two eyes and forget what youve done.

I am the kind of guy that will help her tie her laces whenever it was loose, i am the guy that looked after her when she felt giddy and couldnt walk, i am the guy that will massage for her when she complains neck or back pain, i am the guy that would rather inconvenient myself or sleep lesser hours, just so i could make things convenient for her. I am the guy that is foolishly in love with this girl.

WIFE DRIVES AND SWEAR OK, HUSBAND DRIVES AND SWEAR GETS SCOLDED

0

My son is 13 years old, and I can tell he’s going through that age where things are changing and he’s insecure about everything. He’s confided in me in a few things and I try to be supportive and reassure him that these feelings will come to pass. I’be also been watching what I say to make sure nothing will make him feel any worse.

I’ve been keeping certain things away from my wife as my son wanted his father to know exclusively, but I have been trying to make sure my wife also watches what she says.

My wife has a bit of road rage and says some things when he drives. A thing she’s said constantly since I started dating her was that inconsiderate drivers are that way because they have small D… It’s just been a dumb harmless joke that I honestly don’t really even notice her saying.

We took a trip last weekend to see family in Malaysia and she was driving one leg of it. We got cut off by someone and she said that he only did it because of their small D. I immediately clocked this as something not okay to say so I told my wife that she shouldn’t just say that and it’s not nice. She kinda brushed it off and did it twice more in the three hours she drove.

The last time I saw that the driver was a female, so I told my wife, “no that’s a woman, her lady parts must be really loose then right?”

She immediately snapped at me and said that what I said was incredibly vulgar and borderline misogynistic. When we got to our location she pulled me aside and said that what I said was disgusting and I cannot teach our son that it’s okay to talk about women like this. I said that she did the same thing about the men.

She said it was different as we all know she does that and she’s not serious. When I say that about a woman, it’s incredibly misogynistic and our son may speak that way about women.

So now I’m thinking maybe she’s right? There is a difference in what she said and what I said and there’s a different dynamic as I’m a man talking about a woman’s privates, and it is teaching my son badly. So I could see why I would be the one at fault, but I don’t think I am.

GIRL STRUGGLING AS BF’S FAMILY IS TOO “HOLY” UNABLE TO JOIN IN

0

I have been with my partner for around 3 years. He was never majorly into his religion when we were friends but after a few months of dating, he started going back to church with his family.

In the last couple of months, I’ve been getting pressured off of them all to come to church with them. At first I considered it but I felt the more I was asked to go the less I wanted to. I have never been a religious person, I believe in “stuff” but not God.

My partner and his family think anything outside of their branch of Christianity is inherently evil, think tarot cards, communicate with spirits that aren’t “the holy spirit” etc. the more things they speak about the more it genuinely sounds too over.

They say that God speaks directly to them them and they have personally healed people through the power of God.

I respect their beliefs and I’m glad it brings them comfort but it’s not for me. The weekend brought uncomfortable discussions about abortion and homo people, I was mentally drained by the end of it trying to bite my tongue to avoid arguments as I know their mindset will not be changed.

I love my partner immensely but Im struggling to deal with this new heavy religious involvement and the pressure they put on me to join in. I am worried this would end our relationship if I was to flat out tell him I don’t believe in God and don’t want any part in it.

How do you breach that discussion?

WOMAN ANGRY AFTER SEEING MEN DRINKING AT HER CONDO SWIMMING POOL

0

My condo has a pool. It’s a very nice pool. There’s a lap pool, a deep pool, a kiddie pool, a hot tub and a splash pad.

There are no lifeguards on duty, although the office window looks out onto the pool and the condo manager president likes to hang around and keep an eye on things.

The condo manager is really strict about glass, but they’re “don’t ask; don’t tell” about alcohol in plastic containers. And my three coworkers were in the deep pool, chilling, drinking frozen margaritas out of plastic cups with lids and straws. We were talking about work.

A lady showed up with her kids, who all went to play at the splash pad. She was watching her kids for ten minutes and then walked over to us. “Are you drinking?”

I was taken aback and answered, “does it matter?”

She said “it makes me uncomfortable. I don’t want my kids to see anything crazy.”

My friend, who also lives in the community said “crazy like what?”

“Like a fight or a drowning.” One of my friends started giggling, which she does when she’s uncomfortable. The lady pointed at her and said “See, she’s drunk. Does she live here?”

I said “no, but she’s my guest and that’s allowed. Go watch your kids. We aren’t being loud or disruptive.”

She said, “I could hear you from where I was standing.”

My friend that also lives here called her a nosy b**** and said to go watch her kids by the water if she’s worried about someone drowning. She got really mad, stormed off and made her kids dry off and they all left.

I feel bad about the kids, but were we really the bad guys?

WIFE’S SAVINGS DEPLETING, BUT HUSBAND STILL WANTS HER TO QUIT $2K/MTH JOB

0

I need opinions here and don’t mind harsh ones. It is a long post so thank you for reading this and giving your opinion.

I have growing resentment for my husband.

Everytime when I tried to say something serious, he would either laugh it off or pretend to forget if I did not bring it up. I would always, and I mean ALWAYS need to use divorce as a means for him to take me seriously.

For example, I had told him I do not want to stay with in laws after first child is born. He continued to brush off my concerns and pretend to forget until one day I could not take it anymore and just decided to pack my stuff and go back to my mother’s house with kid. Then he took it seriously.

Another example, I told him that we should open a savings account ever since first child is born. A few years later, after the 2nd child is born, the account has not been opened. And yes, we have ZERO savings for the kids. He didn’t think it was a problem. I mentioned if he does not want to have a saving account, then might as well divorce because it makes no difference to me. Yes we finally went to open one. But he is not willing to credit his earnings into the account and pretends to forget until I remind him.

I had no choice but to put my 2nd born into infantcare and look for a job because my savings are depleting. I have PND and with two kids would not be able to commit to my previous job scope. The first job I found was somewhat like tuition. Everyday I would need to travel and teach for 1 hour for $50. He ask me to reject the job citing there is nobody to take care of kids if they are sick. I found a second job, 8.30am to 3pm with salary 2k+ negotiable. He told me to reject citing I need to be off house at 7am, who is going to take kids to childcare.

He told me to help out with his business as cashier everyday for 3 hours, earning $12/hr. I am not willing, but he kind of force me into it. I started since last week and it was so mentally draining. Many ask me why I put my baby in school at such a young age and implied how lucky I was to marry my husband. And worse of it all, my mil was working at the same place too.

I am fuming inside me. I cannot stand the sight of my husband now. He has NO MONEY, no people management skills, just wants to look good in front of other people. Just want to create a ‘Mr Nice Guy’ image. Fyi, he has failed businesses several times and yet failed to see he is not boss material and REFUSES to get a proper job. Money is VERY important especially with 2 kids. I will only ask him for money to buy kids and household stuff and seldom ask him any to buy my own stuff.

Everytime I brought up divorce, I am ready to leave. The sight of him alone makes my blood boil. I went over to stay with my family for a few days with the kids and I was so happy. When I come back home and see him, I get agitated when I see his nonchalant and pretentious attitude towards our problems.

The latest stunt was that he is going to open a business at Woodlands with his cousin and he needs to be away from 6am to 8pm. And surprise! He is going to hitch/grab to and fro everyday because ‘woodlands is too far’ and ‘It takes 1hr+ to travel’. I told him straight don’t come home. I am happier without you.

Please do not tell me to communicate with him nicely. I have tried both face to face and via text. He just pretends the problem is not there until I threaten divorce. There are many other problems. He says I am sick and need to see the doctor. I told my counsellor about our issues and she said we were a mismatch and now need to work on sorting out our mismatch.

I just feel my mental health will worsen if I continue to stay with him. I am starting to believe he is the one with the problem. I really resent him alot. To me, he is just an extremely weak person who has an ego issue. And no this is not my post natal depression speaking because our issues date back to many years ago.

Thanks for reading.

GF ANGRY AFTER SWEET TOOTH BF STEALS ALL HER HONEY AND PEANUT BUTTER

0

My boyfriend) and I live in on the opposite ends of Singapore for work and we visit each other on the weekends. Together about 2 years.

He is really fit, works out all the time but he is also a big eater and loves sweet food. He doesn’t really put on weight and when he goes grocery shopping he is really strict with himself and buys mostly healthy food and basic ingredients.

I on the other hand love cooking and will make different things every week. So for example, I have lots of ingredients that i don’t use very often and they typically last me MONTHS (like honey, jam or peanut butter).

Also, for example I buy really expensive organic peanut butter which costs $10. I don’t have a sweet tooth and a jar of jam can easily last me 3 weeks, but he will eat a jar all in one go (no judgement). He does not buy things like peanut butter, jam or honey for himself because he says to me, “I will eat the whole jar in one sitting if I get peanut butter”, and then laugh it off.

This doesn’t bother me at all that he will eat sweet food quickly, but this is what bothers me: often times when he comes to my house he will literally eat all of my peanut butter (or jam, or honey) when i am out of the kitchen.

Like if i am out for a walk he will eat a few bites of peanut butter, and before he goes to bed he will eat some peanut butter. He will squeeze honey into his mouth every time he walks by the kitchen cupboard. At first I thought it was funny, and didn’t care bc what’s mine is his.

Then I started asking him to stop doing that because it runs out quicker. But then it happened a few times where I went to make myself jam and toast and it was all gone and he hadn’t told me or replaced it.

Once that started happening I asked him to stop doing it because it really bothers me when I just buy something and then it’s gone. It has now happened over 8 times at least, and I shouted at him a month ago for doing this with honey because I went to make a recipe and I had no honey (even though i had JUST bought some).

And what i find the MOST infuriating is I go grocery shopping once a week, so if he told me he ate it all, he could say it that I should get some more and also revolut me (so he isn’t wasting my time and my money).

I said to him 2 months ago- the next time he does this I will not speak to him for a week because nothing is getting through to him that I can’t have this keep happening to me. I actually hid my peanut butter this last weekend and he told me that his mom has to do the same thing in her house.

But just now- I went to use honey in my cup of tea and there was only a tiny bit left and I am fuming. It has transitioned from something that was funny to something I have to be really serious about. It makes me think he will be a bad live-in partner.

Talking to him kindly and recently shouting didn’t get through bc he’s done it again. How do I get him to stop eating my honey etc? Is it a compulsion?
