I’m 18f have a gf who is also 18, (don’t judge) and we’ve been officially together for two years so far (even though we’ve had relations since school) and we both live in restrictive households.

My parents simply can’t love and support me in the way I need it and I’ve come to peace with that even though it’s hard dealing with them when big milestones come up. An example would be I’m trying to get a car before my new school year starts up which is in two months. They have used every excuse under the sun for not signing off even though they are not going to help me with payments and I’m responsible with money seeing as I have over $13k saved. 

I have a plan of moving out during my second half of year 2 with my gf (we’d know each other for 4 years at that point and we’d both be 20) and Ik that seems rocky but I have multiple back up plans if things go left so I’m good. I’ve been looking just to get a list of yes and no apartments and if nothing changes in the next year and a half I know the best apartments to go to.

I don’t plan on telling my parents until last minute because my mom has a history of telling me I can’t work and messing with my money whenever she doesn’t agree with me and wants to pull a power move.

And if I want to move out and be stable I don’t need anyone messing with my money. Also, I know big arguments and anger will ensue and they’ll tell me to “not come back” “don’t call us if you ever need help” “your ungrateful for what we’ve done for you” etc. and I simply don’t want to hear that in the months leading up to the move for my sanity.

I might be the ungrateful daughter because I wouldn’t be giving them time to process it and because they would feel I am being sneaky about it.

Do you guys think what I’m doing is alright?

A netizen shared a story online about her landlord who had a few beers and started harassing her.

She then said that she is trying to save money up so she can move away.

Translated:

I am from Malaysia, now work sg. I rent a room in Tampines a hdb with 2 other girls and a guy (landlord).

It was great fun at first. We all got along great and sometimes eat together. Then one night I was sitting on the couch watching TV with the landlord and he started poking me with his lower body and told me to “eat” it or I wasn’t welcome to live there anymore.

He was drinking beer and I’m not sure if its the beer talking.

I went and hide in my room, I didn’t want to have to tell my parents I needed to move, as they were paying my rent and had just spent a bunch of money moving me in there.

We have not talked since the incident which means he remembers it even after drinking.

What should I do? I don’t want to make matters big as I just started working here not too long and I don’t want to be absent from work due to investigations.

Now I always tried to go home late, so that I will not bump into the landlord, My other roommates don’t know about it. This is too embarrassing to tell or discuss with them.

I need to save up for about 2 months more so I can quickly find a new place.

I hope someone can give me advice.

A couple was seen arguing at the airport, the man was seen holding a woman’s hand as they exit the customs area of the airport.

The woman was later seen scolding the man and scolding the woman “This is my husband, who are you”.

The woman who is the “girlfriend” left the scene quickly.

“I saw my own husband holding another woman’s hand, I have to come airport to catch you.” said the woman wearing black.

The woman even stated that the man is a Malaysian who can’t find a job in Singapore, she then confronts him asking why is he not taking care of his father and she have to answer to his father while he goes MIA.

The worse part of the incident was that the woman brought her son out and said that “his father missing for 6 months”.

She then keeps reiterating they are still legally married and has not signed the paper yet.

M’SIAN MAN POSSESSED AT KTV, FRIENDS EXORCISE HIM WITH CHANT

Three videos of a man who appeared to be possessed and howling like a ghost were uploaded on Facebook.

The incident occurred in a nightlife establishment in Malaysia, the man appeared to be wearing a waiter’s uniform and club music could be heard in the background.

Several men could be seen holding the “possessed” man on the ground who is howling, the few men holding him down could be heard saying “get out of him”.

As weird as the few videos seen, most netizens were sceptical of it and said that it is more likely the man was on certain substances.

The man could be heard howling non-stop as 3 men were seen holding him on the ground. With a few men saying “get out!” in dialect.

Man performing exorcism

He was later brought to the sofa, with many people watching the show. The same three were still seen holding him down and the waiter appears to be suffering while one of the men performs the ritual.

Man recovers

After several minutes, the man was seen recovered but looking very tired for the “ordeal” he went through.

A netizen, De Long Ang, shared his experience ordering a birthday cake for his father via GrabFood.

He said that he ordered a five-inch Yam Orh-Nee cake from a bakery called eCreative at Jurong Point via the GrabFood app on 18 June.

The birthday cake was then delivered by a GrabFood rider by bicycle, and when the cake arrived, it looked a little worse for wear.

Ang described the cake and looking like it was going to break on the side, lamenting how he felt the rider was not careful enough with the delivery despite being told the cake was fragile and to be careful.

He then asked why did the rider accept the order if he couldn’t do a good job delivering the cake, and he expressed his disappointment.

In a update on his Facebook post, Ang shared that Grab has since issued him with a full refund for the incident.

He was last seen in the vicinity of Block 250 Bukit Batok East Avenue 5, on 13 June 2022.

A group of youths in Singapore were out ghost hunting when one of their friends, played an allegedly “cursed” song from their phone.

They then spotted some shadows around the bushes and on top of the trees, and they said that the shadows were apparently Jinns (a type of powerful spirit that is capable of taking up the form of humans).

One of the youths in the group then started shivering because he apparently felt a presence nearby, but another friend then started shouting at the Jinn and making fun of it, laughing it off.

He then went home later that night and felt a sharp scratch on his back, describing the feeling as like he was being “sliced slowly”.

He then asked his friends to take a look and they then found claw marks on his back, with 4 lines of scratches being visible on the right side of his upper back.

“Hi everyone, first time posting here and am hoping to have a discussion on the topic of job-hopping.

Background about myself:

– Graduated in 2020 with a mech. engine degree

– 1st career: consulting services sales (~4.1k/mth) at MNC, stayed for 5 months and left because I didn’t enjoy sales and it was extremely stressful. Wanted to be more analytical.

– 2nd career: Senior Business Analyst at MNC(~4.8k/mth excluding AWS, and 1-3 months performance bonus), stayed for 8 months and left because I felt I wasn’t learning much and did not have the opportunity to learn proper BA techniques.

– Current role: Business Analyst at government stat board (~6.2k/mth, excluding 1-5 months performance bonus), close to 7 months in.

Issue with current employment:

For those that work in the public service, you might share the same sentiments that things move EXTREMELY slowly due to approval processes and because we are using tax payer’s money etc.

My project is in the early stages and am currently getting approval for funding. In the meantime, I’m drafting proposals and preparing tender documents. The project is to begin implementation by middle of FY23.

The job is quite cushy (too cushy at times). Others might think it’s a good thing, but being too comfortable is a discomfort for me. I’ve tried to take on more challenges but there are none available for me to get my hands dirty.

To occupy myself, I’m picking up new skills during my free time to ensure I remain employable.

Dilemma:

I was approached by an MNC for the role of a Data Analyst. I am currently interviewing with them and at the final stages. The estimated remuneration would be ~8k/mth, no AWS and no perf bonus. Salary increment 10-15%/year.

I understand that job-hopping does not look good on the resume. But so far, all my ‘hops’ have been for more senior roles and never a downgrade.

Question for others: what would you do if you were me? My career goal would be to become more analytical and groom my skills in data analyses. Salary package is another factor as well.

However, how would this impact my career in the long run? Will recruiters see me as a job hopper? This shouldn’t be a concern if the recruiter is the one who reached out and not the other way around – me applying for a new job. How would this affect my changes getting into the big tech firms (MANGA)?

Being approached by a stranger in public AND misinterpreting social cues…

Hi all…I kind of suffer from social anxiety, I feel like everyone who sees me in public can see how awkward I’m feeling inside. While it is not true and I know it, that is really what ever “look” or “glance” feels like.

Recently an incident occurred where someone approached me that is making me scared to go out by myself.

Last week, I went to the mall to get some things from NTUC, and after that, I walked around the mall by myself for a while. I don’t have many friends to hang out with and I just wanted to walk around a bit and see some things.

This guy then came to me and talked to me. He said I look quite good and I said thanks awkwardly, it is the first time a stranger approached me before.

He then asked me for my Instagram and number, to which I gave my IG and I said maybe we can talk on ig first.

And then we chatted a bit and he asked me where I am going, I said I am going home.

So he asked me if he can walk me home I said sure. I thought that he was bored and had time to kill so he wanted to walk with me a bit.

So when we reached my place, my condo gate, he asked me if I am down for fwb, and I was like “…” I said no, retreated and frowned and walked away.

He never added me on ig thankfully (or not, because now he knows my IG and may stalk), but that incident kind of traumatised me.

And I am scared to go out by myself again. I wonder who is watching me and wonder what intentions they may have.

Also, my ability to misinterpret social cues scares me. I did not know that’s what is implied by a statement like “can I walk you home”, or whether he changed his mind because of something I said, like my passive tone.

RIVERDALE ACTOR SHOT HIS OWN MOTHER DEAD, TURNS HIMSELF IN TO POLICE

Actor Ryan Grantham, who plays the character Jeffrey Augustine in the Netflix series Riverdale, shot his own mother from the back while she was playing the piano, killing her.

He later turned himself in, and at his sentencing hearing on 13 June, the 24-year-old was revealed to have planned on killing the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau after killing his mother.

PM Trudeau is of course alive and well and Grantham’s assassination plans didn’t come to fruition, with the actor now awaiting his sentencing for his crimes.

He is possibly facing life imprisonment for the murder of his mother.

Murdered own mother

Grantham shot his mother in the back of her head on 31 March 2020, while she was playing the piano at home.

Videos of the actor rehearsing the shooting were played in court, with the actor walking up from behind his mother and pointing a rifle at her, but not pulling the trigger, yet, according to TODAY.

CBC reported that Grantham was on a “downward spiral” in the months leading up to the murder, and had homicidal urges, as well as wanting to end his life.

He also spent long periods smoking marijuana.

On the way to kill the prime minister

The following day after killing his mother, Grantham drove towards Ottawa in his car with Molotov cocktails, guns and ammunition, according to CBC.

He was planning to allegedly murder Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada.

However, while on the way, he then turned around after changing his mind and started thinking about committing mass violence instead, at an iconic bridie in Vancouver, or at his former school, Simon Fraser University.

He eventually turned himself in to the police later that night, approaching a police car and telling the officer “I killed my mother”.

Apologised

Grantham apologised for his actions, saying: “In the face of something so horrible, saying sorry seems so pointless. But from every fiber of my being, I am sorry.”

He described his mother as a caring and compassionate person who didn’t deserve what he did to her.

The judge presiding over his case had adjourned the hearing and reserved his sentencing for a later date.

Riverdale actor

Grantham is more famously known for playing the role of Jeffrey Augustine in the Netflix series Riverdale, where his character murdered Fred Andrews, the father of Archie Andrew in the show.
