WOMAN SIT ON 10TH FLOOR HDB WINDOW LEDGE, RESCUED THEN ARRESTED

A 34-year-old woman was seen sitting dangerously on a window ledge at Block 469B Admiralty Drive.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon and the SCDF and police received a call for help at around 12.30pm.

They found the woman sitting dangerously on the 10th floor window ledge.

The police said that officers from the Crisis Negotiation Unit were also deployed after assessing that the woman was a danger to herself.

A life air pack was also deployed at the foot of the block by the SCDF just in case the woman jumped.

Officers from the DART team rappelled down from the unit above the woman and rescued her.

She was then arrested under Section 7(1) of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act.

Yishun North Neighbourhood Police Centre shared a funny post on their Facebook.

They shared that their graphic designer, who is also an officer, was on leave.

So they had to improvise and use Microsoft Paint for their edits.

A video emerged online showing a car suddenly cutting into the camcar’s lane while at a traffic light.

The car then braked abruptly on the road after moving off, causing the camcar to almost collide with it.

The incident happened along Woodlands Avenue 4 and Woodlands Drive 50.

2236 CASES ON 28 SEPT, 5 MORE PASSED AWAY

As of 28 September 2021, 12pm, the Ministry of Health has detected a total of 2,236 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore, with 1,711 in the community, 515 in the migrant worker dormitories and 10 imported cases. 

5 more passed away

5 more cases have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection. Of these:

  • 74-years-old
  • 73-years-old
  • 69-years-old
  • 79-years-old
  • 77-years-old

Amongst them, 2 had been unvaccinated against COVID-19, 1 had been partially vaccinated and 2 had been vaccinated. All of them had various underlying medical conditions.

In total, 85 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.

UK IN CRISIS – FUEL SHORTAGE AND PANIC BUYING, UK ARMY ON STANDBY

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that their army has been put on standby following the panic buying of fuel, according to The Guardian.

150 military tankers are being prepared to delivery fuel to petrol stations that are out of the petrol, according to the BBC.

The UK is facing a shortage of truck drivers (about 100,000) to deliver the fuel to petrol stations, leading to a huge supply problem, according to Reuters.

Oil firm British Petroleum (BP) announced on 25 September that they had to temporarily close some of their petrol stations because of the shortage of drivers, and people started to panic buy.

Fights were also breaking out at petrol stations.

The shortage of truck drivers in the UK is because of the departure of many non-British drivers, who left the country after Brexit.

It was made worse by the pandemic.

Older drivers who have retired were also not replaced, because prospective drivers waiting to pass their driving test for Heavy Goods Vehicles were pushed back due to the pandemic.

A video emerged online showing the French president Emmanuel Macron being pelted in the face (or neck to be exact) with what appears to be an egg.

The incident happened in Lyon on Monday, with the president seen being escorted through a large crowd.

An egg was then seen being hurled towards him, hitting him in the neck.

A man was then seen being escorted away.

Macron was reported by ABC News to have been heard saying: “If he has something to tell me, then he can come.”
