POLICE AWARE OF FIGHT AT KATONG SQUARE, POLICE REPORT LODGED

The Police said earlier today (Apr 6) that a Police report was lodged on the incident that happened at Katong Square.

In responses to media enquiries, The Police confirmed that a Police report has been lodged.

In the viral video with at least 10 involved, a man was seen retrieving a weapon from his car.

Many comments have been circulating on Facebook stating that the man was seen walking left and right with the weapon but did not take any action.

It is unclear what triggered the brawl and let’s hope that the Police can take action against such a dangerous group.

HUGE FIGHT NEAR KATONG SQUARE, MAN TAKES A WEAPON FROM CAR

According to Chapter 224 of the Penal Code, anyone who disturbs public peace by fighting in public is guilty of committing an affray.

Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to one year, a fine of up to $5,000, or both.

According to Chapter 321 of the Penal Code, anyone who performs an act that causes hurt to a person is guilty of Voluntarily Causing Hurt.

Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to 3 years and/or a fine of up to $5,000.

MAN TALKS ON PHONE IN MRT WITHOUT FACE MASK

A man was spotted not wearing a mask in the MRT and he was happily chatting away without realising that he was getting filmed.

Just a week ago, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced the relaxation of mask-wearing in outdoor settings.

From 29 March 2022, mask-wearing will only be required for indoor settings for persons who are 6 years old and above, outside of their homes. 

Mask-wearing will be optional in outdoor settings. However, people are encouraged to continue to wear their masks, especially in crowded areas.

Taking the train still requires the wearing of a face mask.

Penalties

If they are caught by the Police for not wearing a mask or not wearing a mask properly they can be charged under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020. Penalties include a fine of up to SGD$10,000 and jailed for up to six months.

SOH RUI YONG PAYS $180K OF DAMAGES, CHALLENGES LIEW TO DONATE IT

Infamous Singapore marathoner Soh Rui Yong was previously ordered to pay about $180k of damages in total to Ashley Liew in the defamation case that he lost.

Soh then took to Facebook to challenge Liew after paying the money, telling him to donate his $180k in damages to Singapore sports.

Here is what he said

A total of ~$320,000 has been paid to Ashley Liew for his “loss of reputation”, “hurt, distress and embarrassment”, and legal fees. I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has believed in me, supported my case and contributed to the crowdfunding for this sum of money.

With the full sum of ~$320,000 ($180,000 damages + $140,000 legal costs) now paid, I now issue this open challenge to Ashley Liew – prove how much sportsmanship you really have.

A lot of the money I have transferred to you are donations from the public. Give back to Singapore, and Singapore sports.

Use the entire $180,000 in damages for your “loss of reputation” and “hurt, distress and embarrassment” to set up a fund or a scholarship that benefits the athletes of Singapore.

Doing a good deed like this will provide everyone with a nice closure to move on from this unfortunate episode.

On New Year’s Eve, a video went viral filming hundreds of participants that filmed the count down the party.

Four men that were part of the gathering have been fined S$1,500 for failing to keep a 1-meter distance from others.

The four men are

  • 21-year-old Shyama Kumar Sharath
  • 22-year-old Ateesh Ashutosh Rao
  • 22-year-old Kevan Loh Wei Kang
  • 22-year-old Declan Goh

The four of them were at a bar on New years eve.

How they were caught?

Thanks to social media, there were a few people filming Youtube videos and interviewing people, Goh failed to wear a mask and acted as a referee for two other men who were wrestling.

Loh appeared in a photo without social distancing and a mask.

Penalties:

First-time offenders who breach safe distancing measures are fined $300.

For non-compliance with safe management measures under the COVID-19 rules, offenders may be jailed for up to six months, fined up to S$10,000, or both.

If they are caught by the Police for not wearing a mask or not wearing a mask properly they can be charged under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.

53-year-old veteran comedian Mark Lee, appeared as a guest on the first episode of actor Christopher Lee’s new show Dishing With Chris Lee on 4 April, alongside actor Li Nanxing.

Christopher cooked some curry chicken noodles for the two guests as they reflected on their come-up in the industry, with Christopher Lee and Li Nanxing starting out as actors, while Mark Lee came up through variety shows.

Mark Lee then touched on how many industry newbies would rather act than do comedy, saying that “not many people want to do it.

The ugly ones don’t want to as they want to become better looking so that they can go into acting. But they don’t understand that if you’re not good-looking, that’s an asset in comedy.”

On the topic of leaving a legacy, Mark added that it also required the right timing, as well as the right people.

Christopher then added that what they can do is to “pass down the right spirit” to their successors.

TRAVELERS COMING INTO S’PORE CAN NOW TAKE VIRTUALLY SUPERVISED ART TEST

The Ministry of Health (MOH) updated their website yesterday reflecting the policy change, where all travelers (from any country) who are flying into Singapore can now take a virtually supervised ART test to fulfill their pre-departure Covid test requirements.

This ruling, however, excludes short-term visitors.

Prior to the policy change, only incoming travelers from selected countries were afforded the option of virtually supervised ART.

This new ruling allows travelers coming from countries such as Thailand, which wasn’t on the list of eligible countries originally, to take up the option.

They will have to take the tests from the service providers that are listed on MOH’s website, with a total of 93 service providers offering the service.

The fees for the virtually supervised ART tests start from about $12, and those using this option will need to use ART kits that are approved for use in Singapore, or the countries that are relevant.

The tests must also be taken within 2 days prior to their departure for Singapore.

For short-term visitors, they will still be required to present their Covid-19 test results acquired from a testing center overseas.

M’SIA – WE RECEIVED 7 COMPLAINTS ON “FOREIGN CARS” PUMPING RON95 PETROL

The enforcement director of Malaysia’s Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry, Datuk Seri Azman Adam, said that they have received 7 complaints of foreign-registered vehicles pumping the subsidized RON95 petrol ever since Malaysia reopened its land borders with Singapore.

He alluded to the cases involving Singapore registered vehicles and said that all the cases happened in Johor.

He added that two Johor petrol stations are under investigation for allowing foreign cars to pump petrol from the subsidized RON95 fuel.

Datuk Sari also added the authorities are “finalizing the investigation” when he was asked about the viral videos of foreign cars pumping RON95 using the yellow pumps.

The petrol pumps with yellow nozzles in Malaysia are used to pump the subsidized RON95 petrol.

A ban on the sale of RON95 to foreign vehicles was imposed on 1 August 2010, but whether it has been enforced remains another story, although, with the rising fuel prices amidst the embargo on Russia, the scrutiny on the ruling has seen been magnified.

I’m seeing someone new and all I can think about is that he’ll think my genital is gross. He’s really kind, so I know he won’t say anything out loud, but like every other guy, he watches adult videos.

I’ve seen those videos before and I know that all those girls have perfect private parts that don’t look anything like mine. I’m devastated at the thought that the guy I’m with will always long for one prettier than mine, because that’s what he’s been exposed to…

The past few days I have spent hours on the Internet looking at pictures and reading about labiaplasty. I know this sounds obsessive, and it is, but it’s the truth. I don’t know how to escape this overwhelming anxiety and insecurity. I have a lot of actual things to do during the day and I can’t be wasting more time on this, it’s stupid.

I’m only posting this because I could never say any of it out loud. I have always been a very confident and unbothered person, but lately something has just made me go down a hole. Lol pun not intended. But seriously though any kind words or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I realized that there might be young girls reading this. If that’s the case, I want you to know that this kind of insecurity is common, but ultimately unnecessary. Recognize that all of these comments say essentially the same thing: it doesn’t matter what your lady parts look like. All that matters is who you are. Be kind, educate yourself, and spend your time doing what makes you feel fulfilled.

M’SIAN SINGER NAMEWEE’S YOUTUBE HACKED BY RUSSIANS, ALL VIDEOS GONE

Malaysian singer/rapper Namewee had his YouTube channel with about 3.27 million subscribers, hacked, and saw all his videos and music vanishing overnight.

His channel was apparently hacked by Russian hackers, who left a derogatory statement on his channel and removing all his content.

Namewee’s management team is in the midst of reaching out to YouTube for help in trying to restore his account as well as his content.

A quick browse through his YouTube channel saw his subscribers and view count still intact, but with a prominent “this channel has no videos” being displayed on it.

A visibly angry Namewee then took to Facebook to address the Russian hackers, calling them out and challenging them to find him in London.

He said that his channel has been around for about 13 years and that it has been a long journey growing it, and now everything is gone.

He also added that he supports Ukraine, as well as adding a few profanities aimed at the hacker(s)’ mother(s).

TAXI DRIVER BEATS RED LIGHT BECAUSE TIME WAITS FOR NO MAN

A video emerged online showing a red-coloured TransCab taxi beating a red light at a traffic junction with no regard for the law.

The incident happened on 2 April at about 11.12am.

The taxi was seen initially waiting at the red light, before deciding to go ahead and beat the red light and turning left.

Potential penalties

It is an offence to beat a red light in Singapore.

Drivers found guilty of failing to conform to traffic light signals face a composition fine of $400 for light vehicles and $500 for heavy vehicles.

They also face 12 demerit points and if a driver accumulates 24 or more demerit points within 24 months, their license will be suspended.
