OBESE GIRL FEELS SORRY FOR HERSELF THAT BF IS GOING OUT WITH OTHER GIRLS

0

I dated this guy at work for ±6 months and broke it off a month ago. It made me feel like I was replaying my parent’s issues in a mini version, but I wonder if I was too harsh.

So we started because colleagues were saying we look like a couple, so we decided to give the relationship a try. Both of us are in the same company unit but different teams, and we do shift work. So we have different off days, but will meet at work.

At the beginning, I told him I have insecurities and could be harsh if provoked or if I felt “challenged” to protect myself. I also need constant reminders that I am doing ok, and that using reverse psychology could have a bad effect. But I’m ok if he goes out with friends (good mix of guys and girls) and its ok for him to go out with his exes or old crushes as long as there is a third party, since I have more guy friends than girls and I tend to go with like a whole group of guys often.

At the start, it wasn’t so smooth sailing. There will be 2-3 days every month that I will be crying because he said something wrong, affected me badly and I said something nasty in return. He said this is his first serious relationship and he didn’t know how to coax a girl. He would only buy me gifts after I say sorry to him, for example.

Moreover, before we started to date, I was trying to slim down due to health issues. We do have a bit of weight difference and he is slightly slimmer than I am. So most of the time he will be telling others that I am obese and is not taking care of my health and all sorts of things. People around us could see I’m making effort and was losing weight faster although the changes weren’t big. He compared me to different colleagues and keeps thinking I am lazy.

The whole relationship truly started to go downhill and he went out with his crush (one of his ex-colleagues) alone, while lying to me that he was going out with a whole bunch of them. I told him off. But then it got worst when he was going out with her legit every week. He treated her to movies, have “dates” like other couples too. I voiced out my concerns but he kept saying that I was overthinking things – that I am just purely jealous that she has a better body and personality than I do.

What he said brought out all of my anxieties and we argued. I left him alone that night after we ended our shift. He started to tell others he wanted to coax me but I didn’t give him the “face”, so he blocked me on messaging and calls. He also said since everyone is siding me, it’s ok for him to be the bad guy. So it seems he just believes I am overthinking or oversensitive about things. It makes me feel as if I am the third party of his relationship with his ex-crush.

Looking back, is it my fault?

GIRL SCARE BF CHEAT CAUSE HE LOOKUP INFLUENCER PROFILES

0

Is it normal for a guy to look up an attractive influencer on IG immediately after watching a video with the said influencer inside, with his girlfriend?

So I was out dining with my boyfriend on our anniversary and we were watching this video on youtube on my phone. After it ended I was talking to him but he seemed so engrossed with his phone. Found out that he went to ig to look up the girl from the video through the mirror behind him. I thought it was really rude of him to do that. I have never tried to restrict him from looking up influencers on social media even though i personally do not like it (due to past trauma with my ex) but doing it when i was physically with him seems wrong to me. What do y’all think?

Here are what netizens think:

Singapore influencers? I’ll be worried about my boyfriend’s bad taste instead. That would probably be a reflection of his gf too.

what the issue is. You’re offended because you caught him? What about when he does it when you’re not around? What are you going to do then? You can’t control these things. It’s like when my partner googled Ana De Amas after watching No Time To Die. Who cares? It’s not like he’s going to leave me for her

You should ask those girls who watch Kdrama whether they google the handsome actor after watching their show, and you will get your answer whether it’s common.

I think the issue here is not that he’s searching the influencer (he certainly may do that on his own anyways) – but that he was being rude ignoring the OP in the middle of dinner on their date. Personally phone usage on dates should be kept to a minimum. When you have real time with someone why let the digital stuff preoccupy you when you can still see that later

GIRL SAYS CHEAP RESTAURANT FOR V DAY MEANS NO EFFORT

0

Valentine day is originally a Roman festival that pairs men and women together by lottery. However, modern society and marketing have changed the festival into forcing men to spend extravagant amounts of money to please a woman.

The traditional festival today is nothing but an expensive dinner and used as a new way for your partner to judge how much you are willing to spend for your significant other. If you fall in the group of thinking valentine day is very important, you are an “animal on a farm” being manipulated and herded around by nothing but marketing.

Many are using Valentine day to show off on Instagram to compare themselves with others. Superficial people indeed.

Here is a story of a girl who has been brought up marketing like a “farm animal”

Hi all! With Valentine’s Day around the corner, what do you think of your boyfriend suggesting to celebrate over dinner at Sushiro (a pretty affordable sushi chain in sg). Would it be considered as a lack of effort in planning as we are both working adults and it’s our first Valentine’s Day celebration in our 3 years of dating…

What should I do?

Here are what netizens think:

  • Free food also complain. (You don’t like I go la). Also Sushiro is slightly more expensive than other places like sushi express(I think). Maybe to you it is affordable but to him it is considered expensive? Maybe he saving up for his future with you in it? Maybe you can ask him about his rationale when choosing a place to makan for Valentine’s?Not happy say something, discuss and agree on a place you 2 will be satisfied with( if cannot agree, one of you gotta give in to the other)
  • By posting this it sounds like you are expecting your bf to do more for Valentine’s day. You could ask your other attached female friends and see what they think of it. You could consider what to counter-suggest to have dinner at some other place and see what your bf thinks. What is important is that both of you are agreeable to how you want to celebrate your first Valentine’s day celebration and it is a lovely and pleasant experience for both of you.[But I would say, it is the thought that counts and you should count yourself fortunate that you two are a couple and can celebrate Valentine’s day together after 3 years of dating. But yes, I understand this Valentine’s day is quite a milestone so do as you please.
  • Valentine Day has become so commercialized now . Any day can be Valentine day as long as there are love between the couple ! At least it is a decent sushi place , have a meal , chatting and thank you each other for the love and companion .Celebration held in posh restaurants doesn’t equal he loves you more too probably only for Ig show off etc

WOMAN ALLEGEDLY CHARGED $5 “LATE FEE” BY GRAB DRIVER DESPITE WAITING 10 MINS

0

A Facebook user, Wang Yanzhen, shared how she was charged an additional $5 for her Grab ride.

Here is the story:

This is my first time posting here but thought it is important to let more people know of potentially dishonest practice by certain grab drivers as I think a lot of people may not check their charges after completion of the ride.

I chose a fixed fare rate for my grab ride yesterday & upon completion of the ride, I realized that there’s an additional $5 charge which I understand from grab that it’s usually for the following reasons: additional waiting time if the passenger is late, or if there’s additional stop or change in stop.

In my case, we were early for the ride and waited approx more than 10-15 mins for the driver as it seems from the app he hasn’t dropped off the previous passenger when this ride was allocated to him so we shouldn’t be charged for being late.

Also, we didn’t have any additional stops or changes in location.

Upon chatting with the grab help center, I realized that the $5 is pressed by the driver & it will be refunded to me.

However I think that this should be taken note of by all because the small amounts add up, each ride earns the drivers an extra $5 for individuals who don’t check, 10 rides $50, 100 rides $500 and I think this practice should not be tolerated.

It is also a waste of time for passengers to contact the help center to get back the refund albeit small amount.

Unless it was a genuine one-off error in pressing?? (Which I don’t believe if he has been driving grab for some time, he shouldn’t be pressing wrongly??)

I regret giving a 5 stars feedback to him upon the pop up when the ride is completed (as I usually just press 5 stars and submit for all rides if no major issues, but after that, I realized the incorrect extra charge), and the grab app didn’t allow me to change feedback or rating.

Netizens’ comments

In order to be charged $5, it is either being charged for an Urban Kanga Seat for 1-3 year old child, or pax changed destination within 5 km range.

It is not possible for the driver to accidentally input a $5 charge, so this possibility is out.

It is also a bit illogical for the driver to risk getting a one-star rating plus complaint just for $5. Not to mention that the driver will also know that the money can be clawed back if it’s found to be wrongfully added.

This is a case of either a dishonest driver or a dishonest/ignorant passenger.

Some passengers are not aware that they are charged for child seats or extra distance traveled, hence they may blame the driver.

I am just looking at the matter from different perspectives and not giving my judgment of who is right or wrong.

Hopefully, Grab will investigate properly and not treat any side unfairly.
