GF USED BF LIKE PERSONAL CHAUFFEUR & “MONEY TREE”, THROWS HIM AWAY AFTER USE

A netizen shared how he was made used of by his so-called “gf” who sounds obviously more like a gold digger or a “honey bee” going from flower to flower.

Here is the story:

My ex-GF and I have been together for a year. Met online on a dating portal. I felt that everything was great about the relationship – I loved her and she loved me. We never quarrelled even once. I pay for food and experiences 95% of the time (except for times she insisted really hard), I drive her home after dates at my place, I order grab food to her house for everyone in her family and I even offered to help her with her work when I saw that she was really stressed out. That’s not to say we didn’t have disagreements.

She would say that she disagreed with some of the things that I’ve done and some of the choices that I made. Although she disagreed, she did mention that she can see how I’ve arrived at those decisions. She cited a few incidents:

1) While we were out walking, we saw a man lying on his side on the ground. Beside him stood 3 to 4 people, most likely his friends and family. My ex wanted to go over and give that person CPR but I thought it was too risky (cos it was COVID season right now) and the guy already looked like he has the necessary help (rolled to his side and the people around him called an ambulance already). She disagreed with my choice of action to not help.

2) While crossing the road outside a petrol kiosk, a car nearly drove into my knee because the driver was on his phone. I thumped the car hood (natural reflex) and jumped away. Didn’t leave a dent in the car. Ex thought I was being aggressive. I don’t want to generalise, but wouldn’t the emotions of someone who loves you worry instead of judging you?

3) At the cafe ordering food, the cashier skipped my ex and me in the queue to serve someone behind us. When it finally came to our turn, I asked the cashier why did she skip us? The cashier gave us a generic answer and I told her that she wasn’t being fair to us. I let it go at that. My ex thought that I was being too confrontational when I was just letting the cashier know that people who are queuing do not appreciate being glossed over.

Recently, she went out with her male colleague for Friday dinner 1 on 1 at a posh cafe. When she mentioned this to me, I did highlight my disapproval but I did not want to make her decisions for her. I questioned whether this dinner was necessary. She replied that it was with a colleague. On the way to the dinner, she texted me that she was wearing a new dress to the dinner and she thought it looked cute. I asked for a photo and she gave me a photo taken in the reflection of the MRT glass window after a few hours and late into the night. I couldn’t even see anything clearly in that photo. Fast forward 1 week, she decided to break up with me and stated that I was not what she wanted. She wanted a ready-made man and I was not it. She confessed that there were 30-year-olds who had an interest in dating her (including that colleague she met for dinner).

Questions and comments: 1) What does a ready-made man mean? I’m in the financial industry with pretty good career options going ahead. I am a responsible and loyal guy who just wants to provide the best for my family. To that end, I am starting some side hustles for extra income too. I am earning lesser than my ex currently but this was because of NS and I spent more time studying (I have an overseas masters degree that was self-funded).

2) She said she loved me but she would have to break up with me. I disagree with this. I think she merely liked me for my utility and not as a person. Life need not be a Korean heartwrenching drama.

3) I felt really disgusted that the reason she told me for breaking up was all the disagreements that were brought up multiple times. This is clearly a big deal for her whereas I thought these were immaterial to the relationship because I’ve explained the context and thought she understood it.

It felt like the whole relationship was a pretence and her love for me was fake. Oh well, sometimes in life you win some, sometimes you lose some. I got my closure and I deserve someone better. I just hope that she wouldn’t live to regret this. She might prefer a ready-made man, but what could she offer a ready-made man that will make him keep her? Obviously not emotional connection because she doesn’t value that in our relationship. My two cents. Rant over.

ST PUBLISH AXE BRAND OIL SAME PAGE AS RIVER VALLEY “AXE MURDER”

A man pointed out that Straits Times publish the River Valley murder incident together with the AXE oil brand advertisements. Many netizens have called it a bit of insensitivity for Straits Times to publish the advertisement it on the same page as the murder.

On his Facebook he said:

AXE AD THAT SHOULD BE AXED

AS poor coincidences and unfortunate timings go, the Axe brand universal oil ad ought not have appeared on the same front page of today’s The Straits Times (ST), as the top story about a Secondary 4 boy allegedly using an axe to kill a Secondary 1 kid at River Valley High School (RVHS) – see attached.

NOW ST will be the laughing stock and crying sample for Mass Comm students and newsrooms all over the world about how sub-editors and Duty Editor ought to be more alert in knowing the exact advertiser when designing layouts on the dummy pages, especially a tragic news on Page 1.YEARS ago, I stopped an airline advert on the same page that an air crash was reported.

The most unforgettable mistake was one about a suitcase murder in Malaysia where the ad was, you guessed it, about a luggage discount fair!THAT’S one axe ad that ought to be axed out of respect for the families and students of RVHS.FEEL FREE TO SHARE”

AXE Brand is aware of the altercation

Axe brand posted on Facebook calling the advertisement appearing on the same page as the murder as an “a unfortunate coincidence”

“It has come to our company’s attention that our Axe Brand advertisement has been placed below an article on the Straits Times today concerning the recent alleged killing at the River Valley High School.

The advertisement placement was not intentional by our company but a very unfortunate coincidence. The advertisement was arranged and booked in December 2020 with Straits Times.

Our company is in deep sympathy and grief with the victim’s family.”

GUY REVEALS KTV WHERE H*RNY AUNTIES GO & GUYS ARE THE HOSTESSES INSTEAD

A netizen shared his experience about how he was asked to perform at a “gig” during his uni days.

He was asked to play the violin on stage as backup to a singer, and was offered $200 for a 10 mins performance.

However, when he reached the place, it wasn’t as he expected.

Here is the story:

“The KTV cluster showed many people about the KTV night life here. Men paying for female hostesses, to drink, to sing, to entertain…

But do you know there are KTVs who does the same, but with gender roles flip around?

Yes. Men entertain ladies, ladies throw money on men hostesses, to drink, to entertain.

I also don’t know until I took up a violin accompaniment gig during my uni days.

Back then, I was teaching and performing violin to earn own pocket money while in uni.

Then someone told me her friend is looking for a violinist to play accompaniment for a singer for a party, who will be singing a Jacky Cheung Canto song. $200 for about 10min.

Of cos I say yes. $200 for just 10min. I didn’t ask perform where or who and as it’s good money, I just take. $200 is good enough for a few weeks of school canteen expenses.

As it’s a canto song, it doesn’t have violin score. So I go write out violin parts myself, practice at home make sure I put up a good performance.

So I was given the date and timing of performance. I remember is Friday night 12am at Cuppage. And no need rehearsal. I just need to wear nice, and bring my violin will do.

So on that day, I turn up with my violin and waited at lobby of Cuppage. A lady come and introduce herself, with the singer. A Chinese National. Smart looking, well dressed young guy.

So I followed them up to their ‘party’. I’m ready to perform!

I then went up Cuppage and entered a club.

I thought, wa.. Must be some rich guy. Can hold party here.

When I enter, he told me performance haven’t start. So I sat down with them and chat. He ordered drinks for me also. And then things start to get interesting.

A middle age lady come over to our table, and wave to the lady who brought me up. She pointed at me, “Wow, you got new boy today ah?”

She reply, “no la. He just here to play violin for my boy (the PRC) tonight.

“I’m like.. What boy what boy.. I’m getting confused. Anyway, got free drinks, just drink and wait for party to start, so I perform, take $$ and go. Don’t care what boy.

But after a while more, another middle age lady come and sit beside me, and chat with me. Ask my name, hobby, whatever…I’m getting uncomfortable, so I just say I come here to play violin. I’m just quiet and trying not to talk to anyone.

But one lady after another.. keep coming to me and try to open conversation. I try to talk a bit, but I’m like… When can the party start. I want to play, take money and go home. 12.45am liao leh…

So 1am! Finally, I’m called up to perform. I’m damn happy. I took out violin, set up all things, mentally prep myself to give the best performance. Just like playing in orchestra all that.

So I started playing the opening tune, and that young guy start singing. And he can really sing.

But after about 30s into the song, I keep hearing popping and whistling sound. And then the money ribbon keep hanging on him. $1000 ribbons, $5000 ribbon. 💰💰💰💰🤑🤑🤑🤑

And throughtout the rest of the song. It’s just popping, whistling, and hang robes, aka hang flower. He can’t even sing properly, I can’t even hear my own violin.

The song ended, and the PRC guy is like a Christmas tree. Whole body of ribbon. I mentally counted, probably about $100k worth of ribbons.

I’m thinking…you have so many ribbon, give me just 1 or 2? I can pay off my uni fees already.

So the performance over, he thanked me for such a wonderful performance. (as if he manage to hear me play anything).

And he paid me $300. So it’s extra $100 for me. Not bad, he still give me bonus. But I prefer to have 1 of his ribbon.

I’m sharing this to let you know that the KTV night life is not just about old uncles paying young ladies, but there are also old aunties paying for young men.

So husbands and boyfriends… Watch out too!”

ANG MOH LADY AMAZED BY S’PORE BUSES, STUNNED TO SEE AIRCON INSIDE

An Ang Moh lady took to TikTok to share her amazement with Singapore’s roads and buses and even the people.

She listed down the things that she could do in Singapore that she couldn’t do back home.

She said out buses look like they are from a Sci-fi movie or something.

She was amazed to see aircon on the bus, as well as the “push to stop” buttons.

She said that back home she didn’t even have bus stations (bus stops), and that our roads are so smooth as compared to her country’s which is full of potholes.

She then said that if she was wearing a dress like she was in the video back home, she would be killed on the way home.

She also added that there were 2 men in the bus with her and she doesn’t feel like she is going to die, which is insane.

She also highlighted being able to use her phone safely in Singapore, which if she did so in her country, it would be snatched away from her and she would get stabbed.

She also liked feeling safe in the bus when she’s alone with the driver, adding that the last time she was alone in a bus with the bus driver in her home country, the driver took her to a motel without her consent.

And then she saved the best for last, she was amazed to be able to use an ezlink card.
