According to a media release, PUB has lodged a police report after a video of youths were who trespassed MacRitchie Reservoir was found and circulating on Instagram, they rode a bicycle into the river and swim in it.
The incident happened on the 8 May 2020.
In the 10 second video, a teen was seen posing on the camera before diving into the water with while riding a bicycle.
At least 3-4 teens are involved in MacRitchie.
PUB responded and said:
“Based on the footage retrieved from our CCTVs, a few boys were seen trespassing the gated pontoon area at MacRitchie Reservoir on May 8 and swimming in the waters.
“We have filed a police report and provided the CCTV footage to the police for investigation.
“Swimming is prohibited in all reservoirs as local catchment water is a source of our water drinking supply, and it is dangerous to swim in these open waters as it is easy to misjudge the depth of the water. Swimming at night is even more dangerous due to limited visibility.”
A video is currently circulating of two young boys who were caught fishing illegally.
The boy who caught a fish even took a photo and posed with the fish, it is unclear if the boy released the fish back into the waters.
A man caught the pair of young punks fishing and warned them, the pair ignored him and continue posing with their ‘trophy’.
For flouting circuit measures the boys can be slapped with $300 fine each and for fishing illegally the fine is much heftier
Offenders can be fined up to S$3,000 if they are caught fishing at no-fishing areas and/ or using live bait at reservoirs.
According to PUB: “To report any illegal fishing activities, or if anyone has information on the two youths, please call 1800-CALL-PUB so that we can take this opportunity to educate them on responsible fishing and the circuit breaker safety measures,”
In Singapore, the coronavirus has hit everyone hard, an estimated of 8,663 business has closed down, these numbers represent company declaring cessation of business(de-register business).
The figure could be higher as companies might not be in operation but the business owner has not deregistered the business.

According to a media release, Qatar Airways are giving away free return tickets to healthcare workers including those in Singapore. Total 100,000 tickets will be given out till 18 May 2020.
14,000 tickets are released daily from 5 am Singapore time, however, the numbers of tickets allocated depends on the population of the country. Each person is eligible to apply for 2 tickets to a country of their choice where Qatar files to.
Almost 1 million applicants had already applied for the tickets. It will be based on first come first serve basis. A promo code will be sent to the successful applicants which can be used to claim 2 economy tickets.
According to a media release, 6 Malaysian men were charged for stealing. The incident happens between 08 May – 11 May 2020. The theft happened at a dormitory located at PPT Lodge 1B, Block 4 Seletar North Link.
The 6 men were caught stealing common household items such as a pillow, hanger, soft drinks, mobile phone and laptop. it was unsure if the men committed the crime as a group or individually.
The 6 will return to court on the 20 May 2020 for further hearing. If convicted they will face a jail term of 7 years and fine.
