The defendant was unemployed at the time of the incident, and the 15-year-old girl lived in a shelter at the time of the incident.

The accused and the girl developed their relationship in August 2018. During their relationship, the accused always wanted to have an intimate relationship with her.

In November 2018, he tried to persuade the 15-year-old girl for sex but he was rejected constantly. This lead to a quarrel between the young couple.

After the couple calms down, the 15-year-old finally gave in and had sex with him,  the two continued to have sex until March last year. In mid-March, the staff of the shelter found the girl unhappy and asked her what happened. The girl spoke about her relationship with the defendant. The girl was a little drunk after drinking a can of beer from the defendant. At about 3 AM the next morning, the two kissed intimately and had sex.

This is the first time for the girl and it caused bleeding in her private parts and pain when urinating.

Her father took her to the hospital. She told the doctor about sexual intercourse with the defendant. The hospital called the police on May 1.

SINGAPOREANS RAISE FUNDS FOR FAMILY OF THE MIGRANT WORKER WHO DIED DUE TO COVID-19

On 23 Apr 2020, a migrant worker who was tested positive for COVID-19 was found dead at a stairway of Khoo Teck Puah Hospital. He has left behind his wife and 3 young children back home.

Upon learning the news, MP Mr. Louis Ng Kok Kwang started a fundraising campaign on 03 May 2020 for the family of the migrant worker via Give.Asia. The fund raised will be used to his family to get through the difficult time.

Below was what Mr. Louis mentioned in his FB Post:

[ Pls help Alagu’s wife and children survive without their father 🙏 ]

They helped to build Singapore and it’s time for us to help their familes 👍

Dipa Swaminathan from Itsrainingraincoats and I are raising funds for families of our migrants friends who passed away last month 😢

Alagu was just 46 years old. He was found motionless at a staircase landing at the hospital where he had been hospitalised for Covid-19 💔

Suppaiah and Subbiah sadly lost their lives due to heart attacks. Suppaiah had also tested positive for COVID-19.

As a father to 3 young ones myself, I can’t imagine my children growing up without a father.

Alagu also has 3 daughters. For them, he made a huge sacrifice- moving to Singapore 11 years ago to labour for long, tiring hours as a construction worker, to earn enough money to give them a brighter future. He was the sole breadwinner.

Alagu had been desperately missing his family and was planning to visit them as soon as he could. Sadly, that day will never come.

Let us honour Alagu’s love for and selfless devotion to his family, as well as his valuable contribution to Singapore 🇸🇬, by ensuring they have the secure future that he dreamed of for them, that he worked so hard for.

Please make a donation to his family to ensure Alagu’s daughters will be able to continue with their education, and his wife will not have to worry about having enough money to pay for the essential supplies needed by the family.

Your donation will also help the families of the late Suppaiah and Subbiah.
