MOTORCYCLIST DIES AT JURONG WEST ALONG JALAN BOON LAY

A 37-year-old motorist died earlier today after an accident between the rider and a trailer occurred this morning. The area of the accident is along Jalan Boon Lay outside Shell Petrol Station.

According to witness on the scene, the accident resulted in a traffic delay for over 30mins on the road.

A police tent was seen placed at the pedestrian walkway, the police and SCDF were on scene. Paramedics on the scene pronounced the man to be dead.

MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY SETTING BIKE ON FIRE AT BEDOK NORTH

According to a Police media release, a 55-year-old man has been arrested following the incidents of a motorbike that was burned to a crisp. The police arrested the man under the grounds of suspicion of mischief by fire.

The incident happened on the early morning of Christmas day, the police were alerted of the incident at around 4.30 AM .

Thankfully no one was injured.

Police from Bedok Division were able to identify the suspect through ground enquiries and Police CCTV and he was arrested yesterday (29 Dec 2019).

The man will be charged today with mischief by fire.

If convicted, he will looking at up to 7 years jail and/or fine.

JOHOR PERVERT FILMING IN TOILET CAUGHT BY S’POREAN WOMAN

Ms. Chen (42 years old, housewife) told the Xinming Daily that she and her husband took their two sons every week to go shopping and watch movies in Johor Bahru.

On the 21st of December, her trip to the movies at Johor, Paradigm Mall turns out into a disaster.

Before the movies, she went to the toilet and saw a black Samsung mobile phone on the floor. Initially, she assumed that someone had lost their phone and left it behind. A hand reached in from the next cubicle and grab the phone, she noticed that the phone screen was on camera mode.

She kept calm and came out of the toilet, she whispers to two other women in the toilet about what happened and told them to guard the door to prevent the pervert from running away. She then ran out of the toilet and shouted for help.

Security guards and cinema staff came to her aid, after the door was opened they found a 19-year-old male believed to be a staff from the cinema. The man was arrested soon after.

Latest Updates: The incident happened earlier today(29/12/2019) at around 5 pm

According to the latest updates from the Police, two pedestrians who were hit aged 29 and 35 were rushed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. But succumbed to their injuries.

Four other pedestrians were conveyed to the hospital. A 64-year-old man has been arrested following the incident for dangerous driving and causing death.

It is believed that all six pedestrians that were hit were females age ranging from 29 to 43.

Police investigations are ongoing. It is believed that the driver ram through the railing and flew down to the road landing at pedestrians

CAR CRASHED THROUGH LUCKY PLAZA RAILING, ONE TRAP UNDER CAR

According to witness on the scene, a car crashed through the railing at Lucky Plaza and a few people were injured.

A few people can be seen lying on the floor. A witness stated that one person is trapped under the car.

MAN CLAIMS HIS GANGSTER AND COLLECTS $2 PROTECTION FEE FROM KIDS AT PLAYGROUND

The unemployed man claimed to be a “gangster” and threatened the three boys with a knife. He threatened to find a “brother” to chop them and asked each of them to pay a protection fee of S$2.

The case occurred on March 26 this year. The 23-year-old defendant, Aidealhire Bin Firman, pleaded guilty to two charges of intimidation and theft on Friday. The other five charges of intimidation and theft were also brought into consideration of his sentencing.

The prosecution urged the judge to sentence him to at least 4 months in jail.

At about 3 pm on March 26, 2019, the defendant took a knife to a playground in Teck Whye and spotted a group of 13-year-old boys.

The defendants claimed to be “gangster” using a knife he threatened the boys, asking each of them to pay a protection fee of S$2, saying that if they did not pay the protection fees, he would call his “brothers” to chop them.

The boys were worried about their safety and each of them paid him S$2. The defendant took S$6 and left. He discarded the knife and spent the S$6 he collected from the kids.

At about 9:00 pm the next day, the boy and his brother saw the defendant at the playground. The boy told his brother what happened the day before. The boy’s brother questioned the defendant and the defendant denied it. However, the defendant later when to the boy’s home to apologize and returned S$6 to the boy.

After the school teacher was informed, he took the boys to report the case at a Police station on April 4 2019.

According to the features of the defendant provided by the boy, the police tracked down the defendant’s identity and finally arrested him.

He will be back in court on the 30th December for his sentencing.

PRC MAN ROB STUDENTS AFTER LOSING ALL HIS MONEY AT MARINA BAY SANDS CASINO

After losing all his money at the casino, the PRC man had an idea to steal laptops and mobile phones from students at universities and polytechnic campuses. On 9 occasions, he went in various schools to steal and 11 students became a victim of his crime. In totality, The stolen devices worth almost $20,000.

The 40-year-old defendant, Li Qichong, pleaded guilty on Friday to three charges of theft and the remaining six charges of theft were also taken into consideration by the judge for the sentencing, he was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment.

The defendant is a self-employed businessman and also a serial gambler, he often flies from China to Singapore to play at Marina Bay Sands Casino. However, luck was not on his side and he eventually lost all the money and started stealing to recover his losses.

The defendant has heard in China that Singaporeans like to leave mobile phones and computers in campus unattended, so every time he loses money through gambling, he would go to polytechnics and university campuses to steal students’ mobile phones and laptops.

In one of these cases, which occurred on October 9, 2018, the defendant went to the NUS campus at 2 pm and found a laptop on a table and he ran off with it.

The case revealed that the female student had left her laptop that was worth S$3,000 on the desk because she had lunch with her classmates.

Court documents revealed that the crimes occurred between October 9, 2018, and June 19 2019. The defendant would sell the devices in China after stealing,

The lawyer pleaded for the defendant, saying that the defendant’s mother died on 14 September 2019 and he had lost her only relative in the world. The defendant was heartbroken. The defendant was a first offender and he regretted it. But it seems like it has nothing to do with what he had done in 2018

The prosecution alleges that the defendants had a premeditated case and specifically targeting students, which not only caused them to lose money but also caused them to feel anxious and stressed because of the school work that was stolen along with the computers.

REPEAT CHILD MOLESTER BACK IN COURT AFTER MOLESTING 2 BOYS

53-year-old Seyad Sulaiman Maideen Pillai a repeat child molester is back to face the law after molesting two boys just after a year of his release.

Seyad received seven-year preventive detention (PD) sentence on 26/12/2019.

What is PD?

Preventive Detention is for repeat offenders that are over the age of 30 years old and with no chance of sentence reduction, in other word keep him lock up to prevent further crime.

His crimes against children went way back and he started his first corrective training in back in 1999. He has spent years in jail and was given the rotan punishment before. He was convicted again in 2012 but was released from prison in March last year.

How did it happen?

The incident happened in May, Seyad worked as a cleaner at Far East Plaza, he was on his way onboard a public bus at around 7.30 am. A boy boarded the bus and knew who Seyad is as he had interacted with Seyad before. Court documents did not indicate if he was friends with the boy.

Seyed signalled the boy who just boarded the bus to sit beside him and Seyad gave the boy $2 for unknown reasons.

He then begun to molest the boy’s thigh also put his hand around the shoulders of the boy. Before Seyad steps down from the bus, he gave the boy a “flying kiss”.

On June 11, a different boy boarded the same bus service, again he signaled the the boy to come over and began molesting the boy’s thighs

The child resisted and tried to leave Seyad.

The boy informed his sister and the parents found out about the incident. A police report was made by the boy’s father.
