RAINS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TILL JAN 2020. PLAN YOUR OFF DAYS AHEAD.

Rain expected to continue until the end of the year, weather reports from AccuWeather predicts that there will be rainfall almost every day. Bring an umbrella along if you’re going to be out of the house.

Parts of Johor is experiencing flooding and an area in Johor, Jalan Kota Tinggi-Mersing experience serious flooding. 4000 people have been evacuated.

An average rainfall per month in Singapore is approximately at 195mm, but for the month of December 2019 and January 2020, the rainfall is much higher.

The amount of rainfall in mm is higher than the upcoming months at 318.6 in December 2019, 234.6 in January 2020.

MAN ARRESTED FOR SETTING RUBBISH BIN ON FIRE, ONE AFTER ANOTHER

According to a Police media release, two separate fire incidents occurred along Fajar Road and Saujana Road on the 10 December 2019.

The Police were alerted at around 3.55 am that a fire had occurred at foot of Blk 408 Fajar Road. A rubbish bin had been set on fire, about 15 minutes later another report of a rubbish bin catching fire was reported at Blk 412 Saujana Road.

Both locations that were reported is only 3 mins walk away from each other.

Officers from the Jurong Police Division were able to identify the suspect within three hours and arrested a 51-year-old man for his suspected involvement in two cases of mischief by fire.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is also believed to be involved in other similar cases of mischief by fire.

If the man is convicted for committing mischief by fire, he will be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 7 years, and shall also be liable to fine.

MOTHER STOLE 28 PRODUCTS FROM NTUC INCLUDING LUNCHEON MEAT AT JUNCTION 8

The incident occurred at 9:30 pm on December 9 2018, at a supermarket in Junction 8 shopping centre. The mother pleaded guilty in court for and she was fined S$2,500.

The court revealed that the defendant was pushing a baby stroller and taking her 18-month and 6-month baby to the supermarket. Investigations revealed that she had stolen 28 daily necessities, including chocolate, snacks, drinks, instant noodles, face cream, laundry detergent, toothpaste, bananas and luncheon meat.

She stuffed all these items into three eco-friendly bags and use the baby stroller to cover her spoils from the crime before leaving.

However, supermarket security became suspicious of her nervous behaviour, so she followed and observed her before she entered the MRT station. She also reported the incident to her manager.

When the manager arrived, the defendant claimed that she was only feeding milk to her babies outside the supermarket, and stated that she had informed the supermarket staff before stepping out of the supermarket. However, the manager verified with the staffs and found that none of the staff had spoken to her, and she was obviously lying.

The manager then recovered all the items she stole for a total of $291.80.

NTU ASSAULT CASE WAS FALSE. 19 YEAR OLD UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR FALSE INFO

Last night, a series of media reported that an assault case happened at NTU.

But according to the Police, no assault case occurred.

Twitter, Facebook and all other social media reported that an assault happened, some netizens even speculated some info after photos of what appears to be Gurkhas troops was circulating.

But according to the latest media release, a 19-year-old female student from NTU has got herself in trouble after providing false information to the Police.

According to Strait Time,, the police released a statement that “The police are investigating her for providing false information,”

Budget airline Jetstar is facing a crisis after pilots and ground staff goes on strike. The staff are unhappy with the current working conditions as some of them claimed that they do not have adequate rest between shifts.

The staff that went on strike demanded the following from the airline

  • Salary increase.
  • Jetstar to meet higher safety standards
  • More rest breaks during the shift.
  • A guaranteed 12-hour break before shifts.
  • 30-hour workweeks.

According to Australian media, the amount of staff that went on strike is more than 250 mostly consisting of baggage handlers.

Jetstar has refused to meet the demands of the staff that went on strike as the demand is equivalent to a 12% increase in operating cost.

MOTORCYCLIST DIES AFTER TAXI DRIVER ON MEDICATION DRIVES

The taxi driver had a severe headache and drank some cough medicine and took pills prescribed by his doctor to his girlfriend. Little did he know that an accident would have been caused by the medications.

He drove after taking the medicine. The car ran out of control and hit into a road divider and also knocked down a motorist and a lorry, causing the motorcycle rider to be thrown off and ran over by the lorry.

The fatal accident occurred at 3:52 pm on September 19, 2018, along Sungei Kadut Avenue

The defendant, a 34-year-old taxi driver, Chen De Xiong, pleaded guilty yesterday (12th) to a charge of causing death by a rash act.

The court case revealed that the defendant felt a severe headache after eating lunch at 3 pm on the day of the accident. He decided to drive to his girlfriend’s house to sleep and drink cough syrup along with two Anarex pills prescribed by his doctor to his girlfriend.

4 MAN ARRESTED AFTER GAMBLING IN PUBLIC AT BUKIT BATOK

According to a Police media release, an enforcement operation against illegal gambling was conducted at Bukit Batok Street 31 on the 3rd of December 2019.

Four males, age ranging from 59 and 75 were arrested by the Jurong Police Division

The officers seized gambling paraphernalia and cash from the suspects and investigations are ongoing.

Under the Common Gaming House Act, any person convicted of gaming in public shall be liable to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or a jail term not exceeding 6 months or both.

The Police take a serious view on all forms of illegal gaming activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those who are involved in such activities.

LOVE, BONITO HACKED CREDIT CARD DETAILS EXPOSED

A homegrown clothing line Love, Bonito was hacked and reports of customer’s information were exposed, such as full credit card details, names, addresses and contact numbers.

This came to a shock to many of their customers as they received an email from about the data breach, stating that a malicious code has been added to the website. A spokesman told the media that about 3% of their customer’s data had been exposed.

If you are a customer of Love, Bonito and had used the online store for transactions, please look out of unauthorised transactions on your credit/debit cards.

We reached out to a certified hacker on how something like this can happen and he stated the following: “Most companies around the world are not very concerned about cybersecurity only till something happens”

“Generally, there are three ways that this might have happened”

  • The website itself is not built securely or not updated regularly
  • Employee pc’s are in the same network as the server hosting the website
  • The server is not protected
