WOMAN KICKS AND BITE OWN FATHER AFTER SLAPPING MAID

A 46-year-old woman who visited her two parents at her parents’ house was accused of slapping a maid and pushing her against the door. She took the maid’s cell phone and threw it into the washing machine. Her 88-year-old father who tried to stop her from fighting with the maid ended up getting attacked as well, she was accused of kicking and biting at her father, leaving bite marks on her father

The incident occurred at 8 pm on February 28, 2018, at her parents’ home. Defendant Lin Baoxuan was charged with four charges, including causing hurt, mischief, and reckless behaviour for allegedly attacking the maid and father, throwing the maid’s mobile phone into the washing machine and drove the car directly to her brother who blocked the car. She pleaded not guilty but was convicted on the 5th of December 2019.

The Filipino maid worked as a maid for the defendant’s brother’s home for over six years since 2005. She was arranged to take care of her 80-year-old parent two weeks before the incident.

Maid’s hearing affected after getting slapped

According to the prosecution’s closing statement, the defendant suddenly ran to the kitchen in anger, slapping the maid at least twice and pushed her against the door. Causing the maid to be slightly deaf afterwards, she also suffered bruises at her knees.

The father who was in the bedroom heard the noise and hurried out to persuade his daughter to stop. Instead of stopping, the defendant was angry with her father and started biting his arm and kicking his belly.

Her mother who was also present, witnessed the defendant attacking her father and throwing the maid’s cell phone into the washing machine.

The parent of the defendant and her brother went to court to testify against her. Chen Qiyu, the defendant’s lawyer, said that the defendant had scolded her maid for not doing her job well.

The lawyer also stated that the maid had deliberately smashed the cell phone in order to frame the defendant. However, the defendant admitted that she was dissatisfied that her father stepped in to protect the maid but did not deny that she had bitten and kicked the father and stated that she had no intention of hurting her father. It was the father who tried to throw a chair at her at that time. She immediately pointed out that the bite marks were only caused by her father’s “sensitive skin.”

Driving the car into her brother

The prosecution’s closing statement showed that the defendant then rushed out of the house to leave. Her brother chased her to the parking lot and found the defendant hiding in the car. He knocked on the window and asked her to open the door but she refuses, he then stepped in front of the car in an attempt to prevent her from leaving.

However, the defendant ignored it and stepped on the accelerator. The brother jumped on the hood to save his own life and then rolled off the car. When the defendant saw her brother falling off, he pulled down the window and laughed at him “you can’t catch me”. The brother’s knee was injured after falling off from the vehicle.

The defendant denied that his brother was standing in front of the car, and even pointed out that his confession was a complete “movie plot”, and he was not a stuntman. In the face of a high-speed car, it was impossible for a 100 kg person to jump on the hood and land on both feet.

SCAMMERS POSING AS SINGTEL STAFF THREATENS WOMAN

PSA. I literally just received a call from this number, claiming they are from Singtel Technical Dept.

They wanted to have my home details because for the past few days they received disruption signals of my home wifi network.
So firstly, they wouldn’t have my details, cos my home network is under my husband’s account.

So like many scam callers, I knew this was one of it. Because when I started asking him questions, he was very rude and threatened me. And he hanged up on me when I said, So can I have my home address details since you are the service provider. He said I will pull out the details and hanged up on me.

I called him back at the very same number and the number wasn’t in use.
So guys, these scammers are around, alive, and kicking. Please make sure you’re not taken in. Especially your parents and children.

While some netizens said that people are overreacting and said the following

“I love chickens and I see people eating them everyday, what’s so special about a rabbit. Can an animals life can be valued on how it looks?”

Petition message by Bunny Wonderland

SAY “NO” TO RABBIT HOTPOT!

We are happy to annouce that we are the first and only one to release rabbit hot pot in Singapore.” – Tong Xin Ru Yi Traditional Hotpot

NO! Rabbit owners are NOT happy about this! Did you not know that after dogs and cats, rabbits are the 3rd MOST common household pets in Singapore? In fact, there are millions of companion rabbits all around the world being treasured by their owners as families. We do NOT want to eat our family!

On behalf of the rabbit owners in Singapore, Bunny Wonderland and House Rabbit Society Singapore (HRSS) will like to request for Tong Xin Ru Yi Traditional Hotpot to remove this item from their menu. Both organizations have been tirelesly rescuing abandoned rabbits in Singapore and working with rabbit lovers to improve their welfare. For this restaurant to encourage the consumption of our pets, it’s totally against all that we have worked hard to achieve. If this dish is allow, does that means there will be cat stews and dog barbeque soon? This cannot happen!

We truly hope that the public can make an informed decision about supporting such businesses. Singapore do not farmed rabbits for food and instead, we import them into our country as domesticated pets. As pets, they should be viewed in the same light as other companion animals and given the same respect as a cat and dog would. So please do not support business that undermine our pets as food items!

Through this petition, we hope that Tong Xin Ru Yi Traditional Hotpot can realized that rabbit owners in Singapore are ANGRY with the slaughter of our beloved pets as food. While we understand rabbit is an approved consumable meat, we are not ready to eat our pets, our best friends, our family. Please remove this unwelcomed dish from the menu and do not encourage the consumption of our pets in any shape or form in the future!
