RAINY DAY STILL ANY HOW CUT LANE PLAY BRAKING GAME. WANT DIE AH?

This incident took place on 11th May 2018. Driving from Tuas towards city. As it was raining, I was driving more cautiously. As seen in the video, I on the right most lane, overtaking the cars on the left.

There was a car behind me, who I was about to give way once I have overtaken the cars ahead of me.

As I switched to the left lane to give him way, he purposely cut into my lane, and braked heavily twice, assuming I didn’t gave way to him earlier.

This kind of behaviour shouldn’t be practised on the road, more so during rainy weather. Karampal Singh

NETIZEN FINDS HUGE SPIDER IN FOOD FROM ALOHA POKE

Closing update to my Amazing Spiderman incident:

First, thank you to those who inquired about our well being. Raine Toh and I are doing fine. (To you witty commenters… it does not look like we will “toh” or turn into Spiderwoman to utter a line for the next Avenger film. Sorry to disappoint. But thanks for the laughs.)

Interesting twist: Turns out that the wholesale salad supplier to Aloha Poke is my friend’s partner. He called me soon after seeing my original post and was profusely & sincerely apologetic. He cannot speak for Aloha Poke but he took time to explain that, yes, food safety is of utmost importance and that food safety inspections are conducted by his team before onward distribution. My two cents:

(1) As a consumer, I’d think to hold the F&B point-of-sale accountable — they are customer facing, the ones whom I’m paying for my food, and earning my trust. Let me eat my poke bowl and you go hash out the food safety details and workflow with your associates and business partners. (Thus, I do not think it is my responsibility or of any value to this post to mention the name of the wholesale supplier.) (Full disclosure: I received a full refund for the meal and a SG$20 credit from Aloha Poke which I do not plan to use.)

(2) This is most likely an isolated incident. We are humans who make unintentional mistakes. But since Not-So-Small Spidey found a hole in the system and made his/her way into my food, I think it warrants some attention. As I am no F&B supply chain expert, I gotta leave it to the health authorities (NEA) to look into it as they see fit.

(3) What happened, has happened. I assume all involved might wanna take a closer look at their food handling procedures and move on positively from this. I have traveled to many countries and l am always grateful for and proud of the high food safety and cleanliness standards in Singapore.

Kudos and appreciation to my friend’s partner for his prompt outreach and concern. As I am on a business trip next week and have several deadlines to meet (damn you, PPT), I am ready to move on from this thread.

Stay healthy and be safe, everyone!

Public Service Announcement: Aloha Poke restaurant.

So… last night at 930pm, I ordered a Nalu salmon poke bowl from Aloha Poke via Deliveroo. My friend Raine Toh and I were happily working our way through the bowl and to our horror, found this dead spider, limp and soaked with sauce, at the base. It wasn’t small. I raised the issue to Aloha Poke and the owner apologized and explained that their salad supplier “have received feedback with regards to the same issue”. On their part, they will be focusing on necessary training for their staff on insect monitoring and removal.

Perhaps spiders are not as bad as rats or roaches, however as Aloha Poke is handling raw food and that is susceptible to bacteria growth and contamination, their hygiene standards cannot be compromised at anytime. Having a spider in the midst of their kitchen does say a lot about their vigilance.

Since they replied that it was “inappropriate” for them to submit a report to NEA, I’ll submit a report to NEA by today.

Eat safe, everyone!

CUSTOMER COMPLAINS SINGTEL BILL SHOCK EVEN THOUGH NOT USING PHONE!

This will be a lengthy post on how Singtel tried to smoke customers like me.

On 25 Apr, I received an SMS regarding my data has exceeded. I checked the Singtel app and it was indeed 6.23GB (subscribed Combo 3 with 3GB and DataX2, so I have 6GB every month). Minimised my data usage, using only Whatsapp and iMessage the whole day till 8:30pm whereby me, my husband and some others were at Downtown East watching Infinity War till 11:30pm. Throughout the entire movie, I wasn’t even looking at my phone. At 11:30pm, I was reading my Whatsapp and sent an iMessage at 12:15am then went to sleep.

At 6:18am the next day (26 Apr), I saw a screenshot sent by my sister, of my data exceeding to 25.23GB at 12:38am. Called Singtel that very morning and apparently the customer service personnel told me that there was a video streaming captured by their system from 11pm (25 Apr) to 3am (26 Apr). Which definitely illogical when there was no video streaming on that day/night itself and screenshot of data was done at 12:38am. Tried messaging them through the app for two weeks on a daily basis and yet they keep on saying that their system captured it as video streaming and couldn’t waive off the charges, and kept trying to tell me on possibilities that maybe I did not quit an app which could still be running in the background, or maybe I am not connected to Wifi, asked me to check my Wifi Assist etc.

Today, I guess they tried to shut me off by offering a 50% waiver with one condition that I have to sign up Data X 3 which cost $9.90 monthly (on contract of 24 months) on top of a one-time activation fee of $10.70, which is a difference of $4 from what I am paying now for Data x 2 ($5.90/month). $4 x 24 months = $96, where in the end I had to pay to Singtel more that what they are offering me for the 50% waiver of 19GB excess that I did not use.

So tell me, is it ethical for a company to be charging customers for something they did not use and what their system shows does not tally with the timeframe given? The only video apps I have on my phone are Toggle and Netflix, which runs only if I am connected to Wifi (you can set it in your settings). What kind of service recovery when you give some conditions then you will be able to do a waiver?

Apparently, I am not the only customer that had encountered this problem.

GIRL CLAIMS GUY ON MRT ‘KEEP FINGER HER’ ACCUSE HIM OF MOLESTING

So i was on e train earlier on, and this guy was sitting beside me (picture as attached)….

First noticed this guy checking me out, and then his arms bumped onto me. I thought nothing of it initially, since it could be an accident. Then, this guy folded his arms and “geysiao” use his finger to touch my arms and his finger kept fiddling around! I looked at him, and shouted “What is ur hand doing?!”

He got shocked and quickly pretended to be asleep…. So while i was trying to take his pic and he realized what I was doing, the supposedly asleep man took out his sunglass and wore it right away (must be bright in the mrt).

Told my friend about the incident, and i came out with an idea! Got him to video call me right away and told him to screenshot his face while videoing….

He saw me turning my phone towards him, obviously panicked, quickly stood up and walked away and dropped quickly at Bishan after he realised….

QI JI NEX OUTLET SUSPENDED AFTER SERVING ‘UNCLEAN FOOD’

A Qi Ji outlet located at NEx Shopping mall has been suspended by NEA after selling ‘unclean food’.

The suspension will be from May 11 to May 24 and a fine of $800.

Depending on his past record, a licensee who accumulates 12 or more demerit points during a 12-month period may have his licence suspended for a period of either two or four weeks, or cancelled. All food handlers working in the suspended premises would also be required to attend and pass the Basic Food Hygiene Course again, before they can resume work as food handlers.

NEA takes a serious view of these offences and would like to remind food operators to observe good food and personal hygiene practices at all times, and to engage only registered food handlers. NEA will not hesitate to take firm action against anyone found to be in violation of the Environmental Public Health Act.

In the interest of maintaining a high standard of food hygiene at all eating establishments, we would also like to advise members of the public who come across poor hygiene practices in food establishments not to patronise such outlets but to call our 24-hour NEA Contact Centre at 1800 – CALL NEA (1800 – 2255632) with details for our follow-up investigations.

GUY VERY PROUD NEVER PAY FOR CAR RENTAL. IGNORE ALL CALLS FROM RENTAL COY

I like this guy. First so proud to say that he never pay rent for 2 weeks and asking around what will happen next. After getting “burned” by others in the comments, he says, “asking for someone”.

Either you or that “someone” deserves to be slapped right across the face till you forget when was the first time you had an erection. Basket, no shame ah you people?

Rent car to make money but have no responsibility to pay the rental. Still dare to openly post some more. How do you even enjoy the money you earn by cheating others? Bloody cheapskates!
