The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has today (6 Nov) recalled food products imported and sold by Feng He Garden.
Three products which are cooking pastes and sauces namely the Gan Xiang paste, Moo-Mite sauce and Salted Egg Yolk paste were found to have levels of preservatives higher than the maximum allowed amount.
The food packaging labels on the products were found to have no declaration of the amount of preservatives which under the Singapore Food Regulations, is a requirement.
These products originated from Malaysia and SFA has directed Feng He Garden Pte Ltd, who is the importer, to recall all the affected products.
SFA added that only food preservatives which are allowed are able to be used in products that are imported or manufactured for sale in Singapore.
However, they must not exceed the maximum allowed amount.
Consumers who have any enquiries should look for their point of purchase.
