I’m wondering whether is it normal for couples to sleep separately?

My friends all have no problems with sleeping with their partner on the same bed, but my bf isn’t able to fall sleep together with me.

We’ve been together for 2 years but until now he still has trouble trying to fall sleep whenever we’re sharing the same bed.

He claimed that he’s a very light sleeper that gets disrupted easily by movement, light, and sound, so if he sleeps with me, he can’t go into sleep whenever I move or turn around.

So whenever we stay over at each other’s place, he would either sleep on the couch or on a mattress on the floor.

Even when we go for staycations, we have to get 2 separate beds, or else he wouldn’t be able to sleep.

He also tried to sleep with me several times, but he just simply can’t have a proper sleep, and would wake up several times throughout the night.

I feel bad for making him sleep next to me, but I just feel that it’s something that couples should do together. What if we are married and he still insists to sleep separately?

Is this a normal situation for couples? My exes never experience such issue with me too.

I’m F32, married for 4 years to “Andy” (M37).

Andy’s mother passed away in a car accident last year. It was totally unexpected. He was super close to her, and it hit him hard.

I tried my best to stay strong for him and offer comfort whenever he needed it, but it has been so hard being his emotional crutch. Andy stayed at home all day, quit his job and barely paid attention to me. I had to pay all the bills.

Yesterday, Andy and I had an argument. I came home from a really bad day at work and found him surrounded by rubbish on the couch. I tiredly asked him to please clean it up, but he refused. Something just snapped in me, and I yelled “I think it’s time you get over your mom!”

Andy looked at me like I was crazy, and said “How could you say such a thing? My mother is not like some crappy ex, it’s my mother! And she’s dead.” I apologised, but told him to look at himself – no job, throwing away his life and relationship with his wife.

He said “It’s already so hard, don’t make it harder. I don’t need you scolding me at the hardest point of my life!” I tried to get my point across but he abruptly got mad then left.

I’ll admit – what I said was horrible. It was unfair to him. But I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel burnt out and I desperately need someone too, just like him. I feel so alone every minute of the day.

Sore throat, my mom wants me to go to camp. Really ticked off with NS. Nv took a single day of sick leave in unit other than attending hospital appointments.

Yesterday, waking up I got a really bad sore throat with cough. Today it has gotten worse overall. I told her it hurts whenever I swallow anything or when drinking water. I told my mom that I want to go and see a doctor tomorrow.

She’s like no no don’t need. Then I told her if I go with sore throat to camp, I’ll face questions from ppl. I told her I’ll go see MO for that matter if she doesnt let me go to polyclinic.

She said don’t need. Dun mention it to ppl. Just hide it and do your work.

Im like really fed up wif what she says. I love her a lot, but I dont understand her fierce insistence on doing NS.

All the time she says men takes responsibility for everything. She says this is your duty & obligation. You must do it. Men dun stay at home. Says u r man, bear with it and do work.

Really need advise. She’s turning out to be as toxic as my superiors.

I had just moved into that place after leaving my shabby, leaky student dorm so I sadly couldn’t risk it. Let alone after a first date. I calmly rejected his offer and said I was not ready for that just yet. Nothing personal.

And his attitude changed. His smile was gone. His jaw was clenched. Called me a time-waster and said I probably assumed he just wanted to sleep with me.

And you know what? I could’ve argued with him for hours but nope. I was not gonna deal with tantrums.

Thanked him for the cake, said I was gonna take the bus indeed and that I would not be seeing him again.

Everything else was a blur. I don’t know what he yelled at me, but I do know that a few seconds later I had my head to the side, skin stinging and hot to the touch.

He left in his car and I called my friend in tears.

She didn’t believe me. Said I probably provoked him. “He’s so sweet with me, I’m not gonna cut him off!”

I lost a friend over a man that hits girls on the first date.

Hope her internalized misogyny doesn’t ever get her hurt. She doesn’t deserve to be in my position.

I’ve been dating A(46) for 3.5 years. I’m 34 (yes there is an age gap, I never thought it was an issue). I own my own home, I have a high paying job, multiple degrees, I’m not stupid. At least I thought I wasn’t.

Eventually meeting her was an issue as she would cite that she busy with school project or too tired to meet. I mean come on i work on rotating shift i still try my best to fit my schedule around her.

This is when i decided to cross the line as i got ways to access her phone remotely without her knowing and all my suspicions was confirmed!

One of the night shift that we supposed to meet for breakfast after that, she was actually out partying with the guy she met from tinder!

I can’t imagine what had happened that night? The time she was busy with school project she was actually out to JB with him no wonder she couldn’t reply prompt. I saw the photos folders.

I don’t want to open it cause i don’t want see things that I could broke my heart. I felt betray 4 years of relationship down the drain.

I thought of blasting her, but i decided to do another approach which was to just quietly end the relationship cause our feelings have faded.

That b*ch she actually broke down and cry in front of me asking why am I so heartless after 4 years together. I was burning but I kept a straight face cause I know the truth who the really the heartless one!
