TikTok user @raysonallen posted a video sharing about a neighbourhood cat that had its makeshift bed taken away by the town council.

He captioned his video “our neighbourhood cat just lost its home”.

In his TikTok video, we see a notice from the Aljunied-Hougang Town Council that is pasted at Block 237 Hougang Street 21, informing the residents about the removal of a cardboard box that contained a few stuffed toys and a cushion that was left on a seat at the void deck.

The notice asked for the owner of the items to cooperate and remove the items, or to get in touch with the Town Council to “with together to resolve” the issue.

The notice, which was dated 6 January 2023, stated that the owner had 7 days from the date of notice to remove the items, after which the Town Council will be removing the items without further notice.

The items on the seat were part of a makeshift bed that was meant for the neighbourhood cat, who sleeps in it with all the cushions inside.

There was also a sign stating “do not throw the boxes/towels”.

Following the removal of the makeshift bed, the netizen took a video of the grumpy-looking cat on the seat without its bed, and he was heard in the video telling the cat to “don’t be so angry eh.”

The Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said in a statement on Facebook posted on 3 February that they foiled a smuggling attempt.

ICA officers foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,452 e-vaporisers into Singapore at the Woodlands Checkpoint on the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, on 24 January.

Officers suspected that the vehicle had contraband hidden inside and directed the car for an x-ray scan, where they found anomalies and discovered the concealed vape products.

The case has since been referred to the Health Sciences Authority for further investigations.

On 24 Jan 2023, the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, ICA officers at Woodlands Checkpoint foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,452 e-vaporisers into Singapore.

Notwithstanding the heavy traffic during the holiday season, ICA officers conducted initial checks on a Singapore-registered car and found an e-vaporiser in the vehicle.

Upon further inspection, our vigilant officers suspected that contrabands could be hidden in the vehicle and directed for a thorough X-ray scan. Anomalies were detected in the scanned images and 1,452 e-vaporisers were found concealed in-between various compartments of the car.

The case was referred to the Health Sciences Authority for further investigations.

48-year-old Seung Jun Chin, died in November 2021 after a game of golf at Sentosa and his wife raised questions about whether his death was caused by the Covid booster shot that he took about 3 weeks before.

State Coroner Adam Nakhoda said in his report on Wednesday that Seung’s death was caused by coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease, and there was no evidence to suggest that his death was caused by the vaccination, according to The Straits Times.

Seung took his Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty booster shot on 6 November 2021 and complained to his wife about chest paints a few times, but didn’t seek medical attention.

He then went to Sentosa Golf Club on 27 November with three of his friends and played 18 holes of golf, and his friends reported that he didn’t exhibit any signs of illness, discomfort or fatigue during the game of golf.

However, 4 hours after the game, Seung suddenly sat down while climbing the stairs to the clubhouse, saying that he was tired and wanted to rest.

The assistant golf executive of the club was then informed and Seung declined for an ambulance to be called or to be moved into an aircon room.

But when Seung collapsed on the staircase, an ambulance was then called.

An SCDF operator instructed the assistant golf executive to check Seung’s breathing and pulse, which had stopped and the executive then took Seung to the ground level and performed CPR on him.

The CPR commenced about 7 minutes after Seung’s collapse, and he regained a weak pulse after being defibrillated.

But as he was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital, he didn’t have a pulse and eventually died at the hospital despite efforts to resuscitate him.

Seung’s heart was noted to be twice the size of an adult male’s during his autopsy.

The State Coroner added that it was highly improbable that Seiung’s coronary artery disease developed in time after his booster dose, and that it would have taken time to manifest.

Seung’s wife said that he was on medication after being diagnosed with high blood pressure 4 years before his death, but State Coroner Nakhoda said that he was either taken off his medication or had stopped his medication after seeing improvements in his condition.

He said that “unfortunately, it was likely that Mr Seung continued to have high blood pressure that was not controlled by medication.”

Seung’s wife also questioned the staff members at the golf course for taking so long to take Seung to a flat surface and commence CPR on him.

State Coroner Nakhoda said that in such situations, the casualty should’ve been moved to a flat surface as soon as possible after breathing has stopped.

He added that the CPR should’ve been commenced straight away if there were trained people available, or if they are instructed on how to perform it by the SCDF operator.

For Seung’s case, he said that the golf staff should’ve immediately retrieved the nearest AED after Seung’s collapse, but added that “whether there would have been a different outcome had CPR been started on Mr Seung earlier or had he been administered with shocks from the AED sooner is highly speculative.”

MAN ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED OUTRAGE OF MODESTY WITHIN AN HOUR
The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.

On 1 February 2023 at about 4.30pm, the Police were alerted to a case where a 38-year-old woman was purportedly molested by a man inside the lift in the vicinity of Serangoon Central.

With the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within an hour of the report.

The man will be charged in court on 3 February 2023 with the offence of aggravated outrage of modesty against any person in a lift in any building under Section 354A(2)(a) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of not less than three years and not more than ten years, and caning.

Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Zed Teo commended his officers for their swift action in responding to, identifying and arresting the man. AC Zed Teo said: “The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the safety of the community and will spare no effort in ensuring that offenders are swiftly apprehended and dealt with in accordance with the law.”
