GRABFOOD RIDER BEATEN UP AFTER LOAN SHARK ORDERED BAK KUT TEH TO MALAY FAMILY

0

A Grabfood delivery rider received a prank order allegedly from a loan shark, who ordered bak kut teh to a Malay family, according to 8World news.

The delivery rider, Wang, told 8World that she received a Cash-On Delivery order on 16 December in the afternoon for the pork ribs soup.

She then delivered the order to a unit at Bukit Batok West Avenue 5, and a teenage boy opened and door and told her that he didn’t order the food, refusing to pay for it.

He said that it was impossible for his family to order bak kut teh as they are Malay.

Wang then left the unit and called the customer who placed the order, who told her that there was someone home and urged her to faster deliver the food.

Attacked by mother and son

So Wang went back to the unit again, and this time she saw two people attacking an uncle outside the unit.

The duo who were attacking the man consisted of the teenage boy who had earlier opened the door to the delivery rider, and a woman who appeared to be his mother.

They turned their focus to Wang and cornered her, before attacking her – the mum hit her on the head and mouth several times as they kicked her, thinking that she had taken a photo of them and trying to grab her phone.

The teenage boy also told the neighbours who were passing by to mind their own business as he chased them away.

Another innocent man attacked

After the attack, Wang tried to call the customer who had ordered the bak kut teh but couldn’t get through.

She said that she heard the father of the family had owed loansharks about $400, and the loansharks then placed a fake food delivery order as a form of warning for him to return the money.

Wang added that the uncle who was attacked by the teenage boy and his mother was actually a real estate agent who was tricked by the loansharks to check on the debtors.

Wang’s son then filed a police report about the incident.

The Singapore Police Force confirmed that they received a call for help at about 3.15pm, and a 62-year-old man was sent to the hospital conscious.

They also added that a 45-year-old woman had suffered minor injuries and refused to be sent to the hospital, and that aa 32-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy are assisting with police investigations.

MAN EAT RAW COCKLES AND HAVE EXPLOSIVE DIARRHOEA

I’m sure we’ve all been there before. You go out to a fancy restaurant with your friends or family, thinking you’re in for a night of luxurious dining and relaxation.

Little do you know that you’re about to embark on a night of explosive diarrhoea.

It all started when I decided to order the raw cockles from the menu. I had heard that they were a delicacy and figured I should give it a try. Little did I know that it would be the biggest mistake of my life.

At first, the cockles tasted fine and I was enjoying my meal. However later that night, I started to feel a strange sensation in my stomach. I thought it was just hunger pangs, so I kept eating. But then, a few moments later, my stomach began to churn and I had to rush to the restroom.

That’s when things got really bad. I had explosive diarrhoea that went on for hours.

It was so bad that I had to go home and sleep it off. I was so embarrassed and ashamed of myself that I refused to go back to the restaurant.

The next day, I went to my doctor and they did some tests. It turns out that I had contracted a bacterial infection from the raw cockles. Apparently, the bacteria had caused my stomach to become inflamed, leading to explosive diarrhoea.

Since then, I’ve learned to never eat raw cockles again. I’ve also learned to be more careful when eating out and to always ask about the preparation of my food. I’m sure that if I had done that, I would have avoided this embarrassing and painful experience.

It’s been a few months since my trip to the restaurant and I’m happy to report that I’m feeling much better. I’m still a bit wary of eating out, but I’m learning to trust myself and my ability to make smart food choices.

Two-year-old Paul Iga had a miraculous escape when he was playing near his home in Uganda and was grabbed by a hippopotamus, which then swallowed half of his body before spitting it out.

The incident took place at Queen Elizabeth National Park at around noon on 12 December 2022.

A local resident, Chrismas Bagonza, witnessed the incident and threw stones at the hippo in an attempt to save the child.

The strategy appeared to work as the hippo spat out the toddler before returning to the water.

Paul was taken to the hospital for treatment and given a rabies vaccine before being released.

This is the first reported incident of a hippo straying out of Lake Edward and attacking a child in Uganda. Hippopotamuses are the deadliest large land mammal in the world, causing hundreds of deaths in Africa each year.

According to the police, the hippopotamus was frightened back into the lake, and they cautioned residents to be cautious when near animal sanctuaries and habitats.

MAN BUYS HARD DISK FROM SHOPEE BUT RECEIVES BOX WITH TRASH

Online shopping can be an incredibly convenient way to purchase goods, but it also has its fair share of dangers. It is important to be aware of the risks before making any purchases online.

A man who bought a 2TB Seagate Hard disk on the online shopping platform Shopee receives a fake hard disk that is filled with trash.

Fake Harddisk

One of the most common dangers of online shopping is the risk of buying counterfeit or defective goods. Some online vendors may try to pass off fake or damaged goods as genuine.

This is a risk that you don’t face when shopping in person. Be sure to research any online vendor before making a purchase and to only buy goods from trusted vendors.

But the vendor was filled with 5 star ratings

The man wrote:

Shopee Ah, now everything really exists. Before I buy check that they really have 5 star positive reviews but you still have to be very careful. Even this kind of thing that appeared in China a few years ago will be encountered in Shopee. I really give up. When applying for a refund, I took a video to show the Shopee team. I also told the seller that the shape of the things sent was correct.

Hardly, No wonder Shopee loses so much, bye Shopee

Following the virality of a video showing a 10-year-old boy killing a community cat by throwing the animal down from the 22nd storey of a HDB unit at Boon Lay, the boy’s motives for doing so have since been revealed.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, a resident living in the same block named Cai Meimei (Chinese transliteration), said that the cat was named Panther.

Cai, a 47-year-old bus driver, told the Chinese daily that she was very sad about the cat’s death, and added that there had been at least 5 cats dying after falling from height in the neighbourhood.

The boy had initially denied doing so but eventually admitted to his actions after Cai showed him the CCTV footage.
