A 14-year-old schoolboy, Adriel Choo, died on Wednesday, 3 weeks after being hit by a car along Sumang Walk in Punggol, while he was crossing the road.

His mother, Madam Yong, fondly remembers her late-son as being a hardworking boy who was well behaved and devoted.

She said that he studied hard and was super hardworking despite his dyslexia.

She was appealing for prayers for her son from family and friends, sharing that Choo was brain dead but they still believed in miracles, that he would wake up, before he ultimately passed away.

DJ Jade Rasif shared in her Instagram story that she recently went house hunting and the prices of homes in Singapore are just “astronomical”.

She said that Singapore has tons of houses but they aren’t homes, they’re just sitting blocks of investors’ money.

Earlier today, the Police were seen at Block 190A, Rivervale Drive, Sengkang for a case of homicide.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the incident took place in a four-room flat earlier today (4th November 2022). Police officers were seen sealing off the scene and preventing people from entering or leaving the area.

The daughter is suspected of killing her father.

A female resident told Shin Min Daily News that she heard noises from late last night to earlier today.

The Police arrived at around 7 AM today morning to investigate.

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested.

The offence of murder carries the death penalty. Police investigations are ongoing.

Nee Soon GRC MP K Shanmugam shared how one of his fellow MPs, Derrick Goh, came across an unruly resident during a meet the people session.

Here is what he said

Our experience at Meet-the-People Sessions (MPS) is generally positive – people see us when they need assistance. Sometimes they are upset, but when we explain the policies, they understand, even if not completely happy. But every once in a while we will come across someone who is quite unreasonable.

Recently, one of my fellow GRC MPs, Derrick Goh Soon Hee, came across such a person in his area, Nee Soon Link.

His residents have generally given positive feedback on Nee Soon. They have noted the steady and continued improvements at Nee Soon Link. I have been monitoring the progress of our newest division and I know Derrick as the new MP there, has been working hard for our residents.

But on Oct 10, there was an unfortunate incident.

A resident, Paul, was recently allocated a new flat nearby. He came to MPS and angrily shouted out two demands:

1. That a covered walkway, about 1km long, be built from his new Melody Spring BTO to N4 mall using a specific route along XCL Academy. He wants this because he claims that it is too inconvenient to walk through the existing estate, with covered walkway (which will take an additional 5 minutes) to reach N4 mall. Covered walkways are often built by Town Councils, using residents’ monies. We need to be careful about how we use the monies. Paul’s request that we build another walkway, (because that will shorten his walk by 5 mins) is unreasonable. To build another walkway is not proper use of residents’ monies, and if we took this approach, eventually the amounts that residents have to pay will increase.

2. Insisted that a bus service to Khatib MRT and Chong Pang to start by Dec 2022 this year even though a new bus service 801 was added recently. He refused to listen to volunteers who tried to tell him how MyTransport.SG app could be used to reduce waiting time.

At the MPS, Paul made his demands in a threatening manner, in the full view of other residents and volunteers there. He loudly threatened to shame and harass the MP on social media if his demands were not met by year end.

This behaviour is quite unacceptable. Unfortunately, some are resorting to such behaviour.

More Than 4Kg of Cannabis Seized; Two Arrested for Suspected Drug Trafficking Offences

      Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers arrested two Singaporean men, aged 32 and 40, for suspected drug trafficking activities on 2 November 2022. A total of about 4,440g of cannabis, two Erimin-5 tablets, 237 LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) stamps, sweets believed to contain cannabis, psilocybin mushrooms and 7g of substances believed to be controlled drugs, with an estimated street value of $145,000, were seized during the operation. The seizure of 4,440g of cannabis can feed the addiction of about 630 abusers for a week.

2.    In the afternoon of 2 November, CNB officers arrested the 32-year-old Singaporean man in the vicinity of Jurong West Street 81, and about 3,383g of cannabis was recovered from him. A residential unit in the same vicinity was also raided by CNB officers, and the 40-year-old Singaporean man was arrested in the unit. A total of about 86g of cannabis and two Erimin-5 tablets were seized from the unit. About 7g of substances believed to be controlled drugs were also recovered from a riser located on the same floor of the residential unit.

3.     The 32-year-old man was also escorted to his residence located in the vicinity of Tampines Ave 9 in the evening, and a total of about 971g of cannabis, 237 LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) stamps, sweets believed to contain cannabis and psilocybin mushrooms were recovered.

4.    Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. If a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 500g of cannabis, he or she may face the mandatory death penalty.

5.    Investigations into the drug activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing.
