BUS DRIVER WHO POINTED MIDDLE FINGER AT CAR DRIVER WAS PROVOKED – SBS TRANSIT

0

A video previously emerged online showing an SBS bus driver pointing a middle finger at another driver before driving off, following a road dispute.

Grace Wu, the Vice President of Customer Experience ad Communications, said that they have investigated the incident and that the other driver who shared the video didn’t “fully reflect what transpired at the traffic junction”.

The other driver alleged that the bus driver was driving dangerously, not giving way to an elderly pedestrian who was crossing and reacted angrily when confronted and challenged the car driver to meet him at the Hougang bus depot where he would be waiting.

Wu denied the allegations against the bus driver and said that based on CCTV footage from the bus, the bus captain had stopped at the pedestrian crossing to give way to a pedestrian.

She added that the car driver then moved in front of the bus and “for reasons not obvious to us,” repeatedly braked without warnings “although there were no traffic conditions ahead that required him to do so.”

The car driver also insulted the bus captain, resulting in an exchange between both parties.

Wu added that despite this, the bus captain should have behaved differently and they will counsel and train him to do better.

Recap

A SBS Transit driver was seen in a video having an altercation with another driver and he was heard shouting and later seen point the middle finger before driving off.

The incident took place along Hougang Avenue 4 on Aug 17 at about 0915HRS.

The driver was seen driving closed to construction workers who were doing road works.

Shortly after the bus driver was seen moving at a zebra crossing despite the two elderly pedestrians that are trying to cross. (In a driving test, this would be an immediate failure)

A road user confronted the driver, but the bus driver defended against his actions and started shouting, he even points his middle finger before driving off.

The man who submitted the video to SG Road Vigilante said: “Driver from SBS Transit showing middle finger and dangerous driving squeezing worker at the roadside and failed to give way to elderly pedestrian crossing.”

GIRL LOVES WATCHING HER BOYFRIEND BURP, FART AND DIG HIS NOSE

0

I 22(F) have a boyfriend who I just started living with, we’re almost up to a year of living together and it’s just recently that I’ve seen him drop the Boyfriend Mask and start slipping into the Husband Reality (sorry if that doesnt make sense haha), and he’s started being very gross.

Belching, farting, picking his nose, scratching his family jewels, all that nasty gross stuff everyone should cringe at.

But for some reason it makes me EXTREMELY happy. I don’t think this is that serious of a confession, but it’s something I’ve felt a little embarrassed about lol.

I’m still not there yet, but that’s from personal self esteem, and I don’t even feel great about not wearing a bra around the house, but it makes me happy that he feels that comfortable with me.

Meanwhile I still hide my stained shark week undies under all my pretty silk ones lol.

Just kind of embarrassed, but it feels really nice.

GIRL CAUGHT BY “TRADITIONAL” MUM FOR USING PREGNANCY TEST KIT, NEVER SPEAK FOR WEEKS

0

I’m 20 this year and I recently took a pregnancy test for reasons…my biggest mistake was taking the test at home.

i thought i disposed everything and made sure that i left no trace behind. the next morning, i woke up to my mother shouting because she found a small, tiny blue plastic from my test kit.

she asked if i was pregnant, (i wasnt) and i pretended not to know what the plastic was.

its been weeks and we havent spoken to each other. what should i do?

context: my parents are super strict and very traditional. even the thought of taking a pregnancy test, birth control or the idea of having partners is downright sinful to them

  • The healthy thing to do is to communicate to your mom. But realistically, most of us ignore it happened and hopefully we will move past it pretending it didn’t happen.
  • You will always be their child to them, and under most circumstances, parents do sincerely want the best for their children even if it is limited to what they think “best” is. At some point you have to start putting your foot down and let them know you have grown up and can be responsible for your own choices.
  • the fact that your mom made such a loud noise shown what era her mindset is at. best to not bother about it at all… you’re 20, not 12. This is the digital age, not in the 70’s

WORKING GF PAYS MORE ON DATES BECAUSE BF STILL STUDENT, WHO SITS & WAITS FOR HER TO PAY

0

Working girlfriend, studying boyfriend. Any other couples like this? Who pays on dates?

I don’t earn much (fresh grad’s pay) and my studying boyfriend has some side income (not much either). I prefer eating cheaper food and am satisfied with it.

On the other hand, he has preference for expensive, quality food. We planned to pay 50-50, although sometimes I do pay slightly more since I am a working adult and I have very high ego, don’t like to feel like I owe people .

Truth to be told, I’m a little envious of other couples where guys buy/plan something for their girlfriends. Even a Teddy bear or a cheap bouquet of flowers from the supermarket would be nice.

I might have been projecting this need on him by buying random gifts for him and helping to pay for more on dates. Just disheartened when he just sits there waiting for me to pay and doesn’t offer to pay instead.

My mother has been asking me why my boyfriend does not seem to take care of me and I always end up paying for more things. I told her that he is studying but she said we can always eat cheaper.

So just need to know what other similar couples do. Where one is studying and one is a working adult. Or any advice?

Thank you!

GUY CHARGED $400+ FOR NOT PARKING SHARED BICYCLE PROPERLY AFTER FEW DAYS

0

I owe SGBike hundreds of $ after failing to park their bike properly after only a few days.

Used SGBike first time, didn’t lock properly and now have to pay $400+ fee after 5 days of not notifying me with no other warnings in the app(not until you open app to check wallet) or email notifications.

So on the weekend I went to Vivocity with my friend to hangout and we decided that we’d cycle to have a fresh take/experience of Sentosa as we’ve been there hundreds of times by walking.

My friend used Anywheel while I used SGBike and I have never used an app rental bike before so all of this was new to me, my friend was guiding me through all this with my account registration, payment and how to unlock and whatnot.

After riding around Sentosa for about an hour, getting lost and finally reaching our destination it was already fairly dark because we stared when the sun was starting to set.

We were in a rush because we saw some fireworks near the vicinity and we wanted to catch the rest of it, parked the bike to the best of my ability following the instructions on the app,set the kickstand, scanned qr code(or so i thought i did) and left.

We were actually planning on using the same bike to get back but we were gassed out so we opted to take the tram back and I thought that was the end of that.

A few days have gone by and while I was at work I received a text message notification from SGBike stating that I did not park and scan the QR code and incurred a $5 pending fee by LTA regulations.

So I was like oh no biggie(clumsy irl), made a small mistake and pay a small amount for it. But when I opened the app, to my surprise the fee was actually $400+ after 5 days.

I made an appeal in the app and sent them an email to review my situation but I was wondering if I would actually have to pay this much money for not scanning the qr code properly( i know its my fault, first time user) or i would just get banned or blacklisted or they would reduce it to a fair amount like say $50 for this mistake bcuz im only a student and $400 is a lot of money to me.

I am not saying that SGBike is at fault here, i take partial blame for my incompetence but I felt like SGBike missed out on some crucial steps for people like me to avoid doing such mistakes like:

  1. Pop up notifications from the app an hour later showing that I did not park it properly outside of the App
  2. Send an email maybe a day later explaining the same thing
  3. Not send a text message only 5 DAYS later waiting for it to build up to that extent

I guess now I just want to know if its still possible for SGbike to remove or reduce fee/will i have to pay the $400+ fine if my appeal rejected or can i just delete app(sounds stupid).

Any advice will help, thanks for reading this long ass post.

AUNTIE TAPS HER EZLINK CARD MULTIPLE STOPS BEFORE HER ACTUAL STOP TO SAVE MONEY

The first time I noticed this I thought I was crazy, but the following has become an obsession that I just can’t not notice. And over time I’ve started to realize what the aunty in the story below is doing and I find it really odd and so now I want other peoples opinions on whether she’s a bit crazy, or I’m the judgmental a-hole…

So anyway, occasionally I find myself on the same peak-hour bus as an aunty who is always quite pushy to get onto the bus first. She’ll shove through an awaiting crowd to be at the curb and first to board. Fine. I’m in no rush. Once aboard, she always makes a beeline to sit next to the rear doors (where people disembark) and will, if possible, sit immediately adjacent the doors.

Now.. as luck would have it I always disembark before this lady. So I’ll hop up and make my way to the door prior to reaching my stop, waiting near the door (now standing next to aunty) and ready to tap-off once I’m able to.

The weird thing is… This aunty will ALWAYS lean over from her seat, still sitting, and tap-off the moment the sensor allows it.. But she isnt getting off. She remains seated. Those who are waiting disembark (myself included). The doors shut. And she continues on her bus journey to wherever she’s off to. But she tapped off.

What is going on?!

I can only assume my bus stop must be some sort of zone or slightly cheaper than hers, but surely we’re talking about a couple extra cents. It’s seems to me like such strange and brazen behavior in an effort to penny pinch.

When I say “aunty” this lady is maybe mid/late 40s. Not a retiree or someone you might otherwise ignore. She’s always dressed nice enough.

I just find this so dang strange!

I know it isnt hurting me, so I should ignore her and mind my own business- but its become something I cannot unsee!

FAMILY TOO POOR, FATHER SICK & MOTHER HAD TO WORK AS PROSTITUTE TO RAISE MONEY

0

my mom’s a prostitute. I first found out about this when i was around 6 or 7, she used to go out a lot i was always confused as to what she used to do.

i was always worried about her even after i found out about it so just to lessen her worry i used to keep the house in check, like cleaning, cooking etc while my brother roamed around god knows where, just so she would feel at ease.

Her phone was the reason i got to know about the stuff she used to do, the videos, photos, messages and stuff. Never told anyone about it and hust kept pretending as if i didn’t knew anything ( i was too young to know about that stuff anyway) also my dad knew about this all along. My mom wasn’t forced or anything she was fine w doing so but didn’t enjoyed it either the main reason why she was doing it was because of our financial condition.

And i guess when i was around 12 my brother found out about it ( he was 18 at that time) he cried a lot and asked her why she was doing something like that they had a really bad fight (my mom, dad and brother) she eventually stopped we also became quite stable financially, she was still in touch with her colleagues and clients but that was it whenever someone asked her to come back there she used to refuse and i was really happy about it

And now that I’m 16, and my dad’s both kidneys has been damaged, he’s a dialysis patient and we are in poverty you can say, my mom is considering going back to working as a prostitute again, (they all think i have no idea about it and that they’ve been “protecting” me from knowing the truth lmao) as always my dad is still supportive and all, whenever i ask her she just says she works somewhere that pays well and that she’ll be with her “friends” so she’ll be okay, and asks me to look after my dad and the house.

I really really want to tell her to stop but she probably won’t listen and if i confront her she wouldn’t take me seriously and yell at me for talking about something so vulgar, anyways i cant tell my brother about it even tho i want to (he’s 21 now) because of his angered issues if he finds out idk what he might end up doing, i really hope she stops after my dad gets better and we become financially stable again but i guess until then she will continue to do so.

MAN CHARGED IN COURT FOR PROVIDING UNLICENSED MONEY TRANSFER SERVICE

A 25-year-old man will be charged in court on 19 August 2022 for his suspected involvement in providing an unlicensed cross-border money transfer service.

Investigations revealed that sometime in May 2020, the man had allegedly aided a co-accused to provide a payment service without a valid licence, by recruiting a third party to provide a bank account for the receipt of cross-border money transfers amounting to about $94,640.

The co-accused was charged in court on 2 November 2021 with a similar offence.

Under Section 5 of the Payment Services Act 2019, anyone found guilty of carrying on a business of providing any type of payment service in Singapore without a license, unless he is exempted under the Act, is liable to be punished with imprisonment of up to three years, fined up to $125,000, or both.

The Police take a serious view of these offences and will not hesitate to take action against any individuals or entities involved in conducting unlicensed cross-order money transfer services, as they pose the risk of being conduits for money laundering and terrorist financing.
