MAN TALKED HIMSELF INTO GETTING A ONLINE MARKETING JOB, BUT OUTSOURCE IT TO INDIA

0

And at this point, I’m almost willing to use my salary to outsource my online marketing job to India.

It would take too long to provide background but I have no real experience in marketing and am entirely self-taught through online classes and certifications.

I would say I know basic to professional levels of the following topics:

  • -Marketing theory
  • -Brand positioning
  • -SEO
  • -Copywriting
  • -Social Media engagement
  • -Graphic design
  • -Email marketing

But have never really applied these skills in anything outside of non-revenue generating insignificant startups.

I am extremely charismatic and decided I wanted to be in marketing and talked my way into a marketing manager position. There is no one directly above me to watch or below me to assist.

I am running every aspect of our marketing, every bullet point I listed I am switching between. And I run campaigns for 4 sales channels involving B2B, B2C, and B2Government.

While I have received accolades for my initiative I worry I have no real idea of how to increase leads to our site. I don’t know how to structure an ad campaign or do email marketing outside of our HubSpot contact lists.

I have used so many books, courses, and podcasts over the past 3 years, and I feel like none of them tell you WHAT TO ACTUALLY DO DAY TO DAY. I learn exceptionally fast, I’m very dedicated, and I need a resource to just tell me exactly what a marketing manager is supposed to do each day.

Do I just download lead lists from Zoominfo and email marketing to them? Create blogs every day? I don’t think PPC is going to be helpful for our very niche awareness stage company.

Idk folks. I wish someone could have sat in my seat for a week and assessed it. Sorry if this is too specific, but I’ve seen a lot of young marketers seem just as confused and every time I jump into a blog or podcast it seems either way too entry-level (This is what a keyword map is) or way too advanced (how to utilize your network of 50k subscribers to increases followers)

Should I just outsource it and get a 2nd job? This way I have double the income and 50% the work.

PRC WOMAN SHOUTING IN PARKING LOT TO LET THE WHOLE WORLD HEAR HER VOICE

A woman was seen arguing with a man in a parking lot, and she decided to air her dirty laundry for the whole neighbourhood to see.

There is this saying about not airing your dirty laundry in public but it seems to be the least of her concerns.

The furious woman heard shouting in the video at a high pitch as if she is singing opera.

A group of people were seen trying to separate the two from escalating further but the PRC woman seems like she wants to escalate it further by continuing to raise her voice and shouting her displeasure.

An elderly man was seen trying to push the man further away and the woman who was seen shouting took a few steps back as the man was seen trying to get closer to her.

A person who screams a lot often has very little to offer.

The offence of public nuisance under Section 290(b) of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term of up to three months, or with a fine of up to $2,000, or both.

SELF-RIGHTEOUS DAUGHTER CAUSE FATHER TO LOSE HIS JOB BY EXPOSING HIM

0

I (F 18), reported my dad (M 58) to his boss for breaching confidentially. My father’s job is a social media marketing job. His job is to travel to certain offices in Singapore and help companies that are in need of product marketing.

Here’s where the story begins: for the last few months, he’s been coming home and sharing details about his clients, which goes against all confidential contracts. He was telling my mom and me the names of his clients, their financial situations, how some had dirty little secrets.

My mom and I would tell him not to share this information as we knew the importance of it. While I know it’s mentally a lot for him to hold, I felt like it was very inappropriate to share with me.

Last week, my dad came home and started talking about his female client and how she felt broken and insecure after living her whole life with a failing business and was in need of a product marketing manager.

I repeatedly told him to stop telling me and even made an effort to leave the room so he would say more. I had enough. The next day, I talked to my mom and we found the personal phone number of his boss on my dad’s phone.

I called the boss and told her how uncomfortable I felt and how long my father had been oversharing. She was shocked and pissed. That day, my father went to her office to drop off client papers. She fired him on the spot and told him about my phone call.

About 20 minutes later, I’m getting calls, voicemails, and texts from my dad, calling me a liar, selfish, worthless, and anything else you want to consider an insult.

He told me I was a bad daughter and that I was trying to “destroy” his life. Since I live with my parents, my mom thought it would be best if I went to stay with a friend. So now I’m staying with my best friend. I’m afraid to go home even though it’s been a week. But maybe it’s a lesson?

I feel conflicted.

RED LION PARACHUTIST CRASHES INTO THE GROUND DURING NDP, RUSHED TO HOSPITAL

This National Day Parade kicked off at about 5.30 pm earlier this evening at The Float @ Marina Bay, as the country celebrates its 57th birthday.

Audible gasps could be heard amongst the horrified audience, as the live stream of the NDP immediately cut to another shot of the parade.

3WO Heng was seen drifting into the parade on his parachute, as he inexplicably crashed and bounced off the ground.

He was immediately attended to by on-site medics before being carried away in a stretcher and rushed to the hospital.

At about 7.15 pm, the host and emcee of the parade, Joakim Gomez, provided an update on 3WO Heng’s condition, telling the viewers that he is currently stable and receiving medical attention at the hospital.

PLUS-SIZED GIRL TAKES OFFENCE WHEN FIT BOSS SAYS SHE IS ON A DIET

0

I’ve got a new job 3 months ago. It’s a small family company. My boss and all the other employees are women, and so am I. Everyone is much older than me, but i felt really comfortable around them. After a few weeks, I started noticing something I found weird.

The only time when we have space to talk with each other is on the lunch break because shifts are usually very busy.

I’m supposed to go on break with the boss most of the time because we have the same work time.

She is a very charismatic 50-year-old woman. She looks very fit and healthy and has two daughters in my age. I think I’m quite a communicative person and can have a conversation bout anything, but she almost always starts talking about her lunch. She usually has some healthy goodies from home, steamed vegetables or salad or something like that.

I’ve been a vegetarian for over 3 years now, so cooking like that is also a topic we can share, except for one thing.

I’m a big girl, I’ve always been overweight and I’m in the process of trying to accept it because it causes me several mental issues.

And I don’t mind conversation about healthy nutrition and staff its actually my hobby and most of the time i eat like that but she always says something like “ oh i like this light diet very much i feel so good after, and im able to zip all my old trousers” “ I”ve been hiking on the weekend and i lost like 2kg i feel so good” i known its not a big deal but i rlly dont know what to say, when i lose 2kg nothing really change so its ussually awkward silence after that on I say something like “ im happy for u “ and try to sneak out of that conversation really quick.

But the last one was rlly kind of offensive, I’ve been home for 2 days sick, stomach problems cant really eat and stuff and when I got back to work she says to me that i must lost some weight when i didnt eat in two days and how would she welcome some episode like that.

Idk, i started to feel really anxious about that, trying to eat alone at break , eat just salat at work, i used to have ED problems mostly vomiting and now im noticing it coming back sometimes, the urges.

I would like to say to her how toxic is to saying everyday to plus size person (or any person) how she love to starve herself or whatever, but she is my boss and i think it wouldnt be good fo me and she would taken it offensively.

PM LEE – GOVT DOING EVERYTHING IT CAN TO HELP S’POREANS WITH RISING PRICES

0

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong addressed the country in his National Day Message 2022 yesterday (8 August), acknowledging that the cost of living is at the top of everyone’s minds.

He said that the government is doing everything necessary to help Singaporeans with the rising cost of living, as he listed out some of the measures that the government has done/is doing to help the people:

  1. Multiple support packages have been released, targeting the neediest, with more packages to be introduced in the coming months to complement the support programmes.
  2. The government is also trying to alleviate skyrocketing food prices by securing supplies from diversified sources, as well as stockpiling supplies.
  3. Exchange rate policies have been tightened and our currency has been strengthened to dampen the imported inflation.

PM Lee added that should the situation worsen, the government is ready to do more to help Singaporeans.

“Around us, a storm is gathering”

He also warned that the world is unlikely to return to low inflation and interest rates anytime soon because of the shifting in international economic conditions.

He added that although Singapore’s economy has emerged strongly from the pandemic, the outlook has clouded considerably due to overseas conflicts worsening the existing inflation, as well as the supply chain being disrupted by Covid.

He also pointed to other overseas tensions and said that “around us, a storm is gathering”, and Singapore will be buffeted by intense rivalry and tensions in the region around us.

He also urged Singaporeans to stay united, and keep our armed forces strong and credible, while also preparing ourselves for a less peaceful and stable region in the decades to come.

30 Y.O MAN SAYS HE HAS NOTHING TO SHOW FOR – NO GF, NO HOUSE, NO MONEY, NO EDUCATION

0

I need to get this off my chest, I’m having a tough day guys. I’m 30 years old and I’ve got nothing to show for it. I still live with my emotionally toxic family, have no romantic partners, no children, no house, hardly any money, no education. On most days, I don’t think about these things and I just put my head down and move on with my life. today was a difficult day.

I ran into one of my friends from secondary school. We spent some time catching up and by the end of it, I wanted to cry. See, I was okay at one point in my life. I was doing well at school and was at the top of many of my classes before my mental struggles hit its peak and crushed me completely.

Today, my former classmates are doctors, lawyers, IT professionals, teachers, and investment bankers. Some are even married with children. I was from a SAP school, nearly all my schoolmates are successful.

Whereas I dropped out of school, have a dead-end job that barely pays, and don’t seem to have much of a future. My highest education level is O levels. I’ve tried going back to school many times but would drop out each time due to the mental health issues that were unfortunately debilitating for me.

I’ve not stopped though, I will be doing my A levels in 2023 once I’ve saved enough money to enrol somewhere. Yet it all feels utterly pathetic and it feels like my life has been a massive failure. I will be a 32 year old doing A levels.

Comparison is the thief of joy, one of the first few things I did almost a decade ago was actually deleting all my social media . I lost touch with most of my friends from school and didn’t know how any of them were doing.

Every now and then I would receive updates from the few people I was in touch with but I would try to keep my head up and not let it bring me down. I’m happy for all these people, they are good people.

It’s not their success that is bringing me down, it’s my own failure, and the magnitude of my failure which becomes so clear once I compare myself to my peers, that’s crushing me. I don’t know how my life ended up here.

For years, I believed that things would work out for me. I believed that it’s not my timeline but God’s timeline, I would tell myself that I can’t follow the timeline of the world. There are so much uncertainty in the world, someone could have all the success in the world and die tomorrow. I had this almost delusional optimism that things would be okay, I believed that God had a plan.

Today, I find myself in tears, thinking that there is probably no God. There is no plan. I’m alone. By telling myself that it was going to be okay, I was just consoling myself. The reality is that I got left behind in life, my life will never be the same as my peers’. I have to make peace with that. There is also a chance that I may never be okay.

Every year, it’s the same questions from my relatives. Everyone is disappointed and ashamed of me. My life has been a failure to them. I don’t blame them for seeing it that way. I used to tell myself that it’ll be okay someday. I don’t believe that anymore. I don’t see myself recovering, leaving my family, having a family of my own, successfully get into uni, having a better job. I don’t see any of it happening.

I just needed to tell someone this, thank you for reading. Tomorrow will be a better day, but today, I just need to lick my wounds.

PARKROYAL STAFF ENTERED GUEST’S ROOM WITHOUT PERMISSION, THROWS THEIR STUFF AWAY

0

A Singapore resident, Maria, shared how she booked a hotel room at ParkRoyal on Beach Road to celebrate her mother’s birthday.

Speaking to MustShareNews, Maria said that they arrived at the hotel and checked in early into their room at 1 pm, before going off to have lunch at bout 1.40 pm.

Items laid out were gone

However, when they returned to their room at about 7 pm, her mother then noticed that the soaps that she laid out in the toilet were gone.

The mother and daughter didn’t ask for any housekeeping service and wondered where the soaps could have been.

They then checked with the hotel manager, who looked through the CCTV and saw that a hotel staff member had gone into their room and taken their items to dispose of, including Maria’s mother’s soaps.

The staff member then left the room after seeing their luggage.

Maria told MS News that they were horrified that someone was in their room and threw their things away, and she added that the soaps that were thrown away were not easily replaceable because they had to either be prescribed by a doctor or bought online.

Maria’s mother needed the soap to use the toilet, and this inconvenienced them.

Hotel manager agreed to full refund but changed his mind

It was later revealed that their room was marked as a check-out room by the hotel by mistake, and Maria said that it was worrying how a staff member could enter their room without permission.

The hotel manager then agreed to process a full refund but later changed his mind and gave them a late check-out instead as he didn’t want the incident to be brought up to the senior management of the hotel.

Maria then lodged a police report because she no longer felt safe in the hotel room.

The police then arrived and spoke to the hotel manager while Maria waited in the lobby with her mother, and eventually managed to convince the manager to give them a full refund.

The mother and daughter then eventually finished their checking out of the hotel by 10.45 pm.

ParkRoyal responds

ParkRoyal on Beach Road responded to the incident and told MS News that they regret that the guests had to go through this “unpleasant experience”.

They said that this was an isolated incident and that the items were “accidentally” disposed of during housekeeping.

They added that the safety and security of their guests are paramount to them.
