BF LIKES GOING TO INSTAGRAM TO SEARCH FOR ‘SLIM & CURVY’ SG INFLUENCERS

0

I’ll do this in point form because it’s a long story. It’s about my (25F) boyfriend’s worsening lying habits (26M). Here are the events that have happened this year only, although we’ve been together for 4 years and it’s all really good up until this year:

  • Early this year he lied to me about drinking with 3 female colleagues, saying he’s eating at a normal restaurant with a different bunch of people instead. His reason was that he didn’t want me to overreact and the lie was to protect me.
  • Around mid year i saw TEN Singaporean influencers on his Instagram search history. They’re all super slim but curvy Chinese girls, and I’m not even Chinese. I’m half Caucasian half Malay, so it makes me think if he’s bored of me? Him and his one ex are Chinese. So, he was showing me something on Instagram and his LONG search history accidentally came up. I was shocked – how does he even remember all their usernames? Confronted him and he initially tried to cover it up but then he knew there’s no way out of it, so he apologised. He said he was “feeling it” even though we have s- twice a week. I told him it’s fine to watch p- and search up overseas influencers, but not Singaporean influencers because it hits too close to home. And some of those influencers were his seniors in university. I told him this is the last straw, if he lies to me for the third time, we are breaking up. He believed me and promised he won’t search local influencers anymore because he doesn’t want to jeopardise our relationship.
  • Today, I did what I’m not supposed to do. I had a bad feeling so I logged into his Instagram account and saw that he searched local influencers again, behind my back, despite his promise. Same type – slim and curvy Chinese girls..

What should I do? He doesn’t know that i know. If I truly follow my own word, I should break up with him. But he’s a very loving and good guy, and we were gonna get engaged next year and married the year after that. No real problems in our relationship except for his recent lying habits this year. If I tell him, he’ll know I logged into his Instagram account. And then if he cheats on me, how will i know?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

GUY WHO FINISHED NS RECENTLY UNABLE TO FIND JOB

0

I ORD-Ed 3 days ago and will be starting PT uni next year. I have been actively looking for jobs since June. Using LinkedIn, jobstreet, indeed, glints etc. No luck thus far, at this point I am desperate to the point where I am applying for random admin jobs.

And no I am not gonna apply and do banquet, warehouse or any labour based jobs as I am already 23 this year and I am looking for a proper job which can boost my CV and provide me real world experience.

I’d prefer a FT/contract position over an internship role as I need the financial stability to pay my school fees and support my family despite the latter being a good option to boost my resume :/

My highest qualification is a Polytechnic diploma.

Here are what netizens said

  • You want to boost resume, I believe it’s relatively easy to find an internship at a company. You want a full timers pay along with that, you need to first be able to contribute the way a full timer is able to, which means to say you already have experience, else why they pay you full time salary to train you for you to leave in <6months. Of course if I were you I also prefer that but reality is nobody will entertain you.
  • Havent ORD yet but i alrd have a spot for myself at a workplace. Due to me doing v well during intern, big boss recommend me to higher ups and leave a spot for me after ORD
  • I started my biz during ns lol. So negative amount of time after ORD. I recommend you do too. I’m raising my family and preparing to upgrade to our 2nd home while most of my peers are still living with mommy
  • I’ve got a good idea for you, sign on bruh.

73-year-old Madam Doreen Ong, rushed to her home while about 50 residents were evacuating, to save her blind husband, according to Lianhe Zaobao.

She was returning home from the market when she saw a crowd gathering and pointing to a HDB unit on the 11th storey that was burning.

She said that he husband who can’t see, was still at home, and she ran home to her unit on the 19th storey to look for her 73-year-old husband.

He apparently didn’t know there was a fire downstairs and thought the burning smell came from joss papers being burned for the Hungry Ghost Festival.

They grabbed their ICs, marriage certificate and some money before evacuating the HDB block.

SCDF’s statement on Facebook

NETIZEN COMPLAINS ABOUT FT NEIGHBOURS, CHILD MISBEHAVING LIKE “BARBARIAN”

0

I have a question with regards to my neighbour.

Their child is insane. He is 11 btw. He would take his bicycle and ram into our door. While my cat is sitting at the front gate, he’d run and slam my gate. Once every few hours, he’d slam his house door really loudly only to reopen it a few minutes later.

I have a small space outside my corridor (corner unit HDB with the stairs right next to it). The neighbours next door decided to park two of their bicycles just in front of my house. We placed a small chair outside and locked their bicycles to that chair. Sometimes they’d take the trolley from giant and have a mini-giant cart gathering just outside my house. They won’t return it till someone (my dad) tells them to. At one time there were three trolleys outside, two from giant and one from NTUC.

They also have pots of dead plants with sharp branches sticking out all along their corridors. Those who know will know that the branches are really sharp and on multiple occasions myself and some other neighbours were scratched by the branches. They also leave broken pots along the corridor which is a hazard especially if kids or elderlies were to walk by.

And recently my block underwent renovation which includes a total facelift, including the repainting of the corridor flooring. Less than two weeks later, there are already tyre skid marks all over the flooring. Apparently the only 11 year old kid took the bicycle and “drift in circles” infront of my corridor. And oh remember that parking space? Yea instead of carefully parking his bicycle he will drag the bicycle before locking it.

Talked to the parents but they’re just as stubborn and nonchalant.

They are PRs from I- so idk if it’s their culture back in their home country. All the neighbours are really friendly with one another but everyone can’t seem to tolerate this particular household but thing is no one is sounding out. Once they dried their wet saree and clothing on the railing outside the corridor and it stretches across 4 different houses. Oh and they rented one of their rooms to another I- work permit holder who smokes and dispose his cigarettes at the stairs next to my unit and a picture of that stairs was pasted all over the lift lobby for littering and smoking.

What do you think can be done? Or how have you confronted such neighbours?

PETITION FOR HEAVIER SENTENCE FOR DEE KOSH GOES LIVE ON CHANGE.ORG

0

Dee Kosh who is due for sentencing on Friday (August 5) will be back in court to face the music.

According to CNA, the prosecutor sought a jail sentence of 5 to 8 months for Dee Kosh’s offences, but the defence counsel is seeking a jail term of 2.5 months.

Shortly, after the news of Dee Kosh’s possible sentencing, a petition has been posted on Change.org and it calls for a heavier sentence for Dee Kosh’s case.

The petition titled: “DEE KOSH SENTENCE IS TOO LIGHT, PETITION FOR HIM TO JAIL FOR 3 YEARS MINIMUM”

The Petition can be found here.

Background:

Former radio deejay, Darryl Ian Koshy, or Dee Kosh, pleaded guilty to three criminal charges.

The three victims were between the ages of 15 to 23 at the time of his offence.

The 33-year-old YouTuber pleaded guilty to offering cash to an underaged boy for explicit services, as well as the attempted exploitation of a young person.

He had offered between $400 to $2,000 for explicit acts with the victims after reaching out to them on social media.

None of the underaged boys accepted his offer, but he also secretly filmed a man who had accepted his offer of explicit activity.

Dee Kosh pleaded guilty to one charge of communicating with an underaged person to obtain explicit services, one charge of attempting to exploit a minor, and one charge of making an obscene video.

Four more similar charges will be taken into consideration for his sentencing, including making an obscene video.

Dee Kosh was also examined at the Institute of Mental Health after his lawyer obtained a psychiatrist report on whether Dee Kosh is a paedophile and what are the risks of him reoffending.

NETIZEN ALLEGEDLY INCUR $6 CHARGE BECAUSE GRAB DRIVER NEVER PRESS ‘PICK UP’

0

A netizen shared online that he or she booked a Grab ride and boarded the Grab on time.

However, halfway through the ride the netizen got a notification from Grab saying that he or she had incurred an additional $6 charge.

The netizen then told the Grab uncle about it and the uncle admitted that he forgot to press ‘pick up’ and then proceeded to press ‘pick up’ in front of the netizen.

The Grab uncle then told the netizen that he will pay him or her $3 and asked the netizen to pay for the other $3.

Here is the story

‘I boarded the grab on time, didn’t not incur any added charges but halfway through the ride i got a notification stating that i had incurred an additional $6 even though i was already on the grab. Told the uncle about it and he said he forgot to press, and pressed it infront of me. He said to split it and he’ll give me $3 cash but I said i’ll just contact grab instead. He didn’t want to involve grab but i’m thinking to do so anyway cause i don’t want to pay an additional $3 for something that isn’t my mistake(?).

Any thoughts? I’m still on the grab rn help’

Here are what netizens think

Most of the comments seen online urged the netizen to file a complaint with Grab.

  • Record your conversation now. Tell the uncle you will report to grab if he doesn’t pay you $6
  • Why would you want to split if it’s not your fault though? I don’t get the rationale. I would say report to grab.
  • Oh gosh.. I guess it’s true, this is a new scam tactic done by some notorious grab drivers. They simply pretend that they forget to press the pick up button as the fee you incur will be directly transferred to them. 😐

MAN WITH ONLY $100 IN HIS BANK BUT $1M IN INVESTMENTS, LOST ALMOST ALL OF IT

0

During this market downturn,  I lost 1million+ US dollars due to the UST depeg and other tokens going down 80-90%. And I’m back to my net worth 2 years+ ago. I took a really long time building that portfolio, from farming defi governance utility/tokens, meme coins, your blue chip stocks. I thought I was smart, but I was merely early in the mania phase.

It felt…. Nothing. I know it can’t be compared to people who are worst off than me.

I feel so desensitized until I blew it all away. I was arrogant at the point to not have diversified properly especially with super high risk on assets like crypto.

I thought anchor protocol has a yield that was unsustainable but still decided to go for it and held it all the way down because ultimately there’s so many smart/VC people backing it. Nothing can go wrong right? And here I’m selling it at 10cents on the dollar.

I’m a really frugal person and even when I had that million + dollars I scrimped like someone who only had 100 bucks in the bank. Because I don’t cash it out at all. No one even knew I was worth that much. When I reached a million, I aimed higher with the same risk taking strategies but I didn’t know that it would be way harder. I would definitely work on my allocation strategies next time.

Anyone who had lost majority of their wealth >90%? How did you guys pick yourself up again?

I probably am able to make it through this phase and 2 more years of uni but I’m not sure if I’m ever going back to my peak net worth again. On the bright side, I still have my family, lifelong friends that see me for who I am and a healthy life. And that to me is more important than numbers on a screen.
