PRC BARBER REFUSE TO CUT SG MAN’S HAIR AS HE CAN’T SPEAK MANDARIN

Imagine being treated like a foreigner in your own country, there is just nothing worse than this. A man had an unfortunate encounter with a barber who refused to cut his hair as he could not speak Mandarin.

The PRC hair barber wanted the customer to speak Mandarin or he will not cut the Singaporean man’s hair.

Here is what the Singaporean man posted on Facebook:

SORRY TO SAY. This is my first time that I felt like i’m a foreigner in my own country. Went to have a simple hair cut at this shop today.

Hair dresser is a Chinese national man. Insisted that he didn’t want to cut my hair if I couldn’t speak chinese with him. So had an argument with him for a few minute.

Die die keep telling me to speak chinese with him if not he didn’t want to cut my hair. Told him nicely in a basic english ‘just cut short okay already’ and even show him basic hair cut photo from my phone, still ask me to leave the shop. I stand firm with him that I’m not leaving until he get my hair done. End up cut my hair with a black face. Thank you for the 5 star service.

Here are what netizens think:

  • I stop going to the shop oready bro…used to go there, wat u say is true, nid to speak chinese to the square top hair guy…once my wife wanted to get a haircut there, juz trim the hair only…he dun wanna do it coz neva understand wat she say…ask a chinese guy to translate to him, still he dun wanna do it…in the end we walk away.
  • i would have left if i were u
  • If i were you i just leave and go to other barber
  • For me I will just leave.. it’s his lost not ours…
  • Yes if i were you i will just go off nvr bow down to them…who they think they are….

MAN FIND IT’S TOO EXPENSIVE TO DATE WOMAN, “WOMEN SHOULD PAY FOR IT”

0

Just got into the dating world for the first time (I have been in relationships but never been in a “dating lifestyle.”)

It’s super duper expensive in the dating lifestyle.

I have got 3 dates this week (I know, humble brag, but that’s not the point). It makes me realise how low investment it is for the girls.

I’m not blaming women at all, I realise this is just how it works and none of us got to decide how society is set up. But seriously, I have got to pick the place and pay. These girls just get to show up for free and decide if they like me.

If none of these girls works out, or if they just realise they don’t like me, it’s like oh well at least they had a good time.

For me, it’s like just a waste of money that I just spent $300 on people I will never going to see again. Women always asked for equal rights, they might as well pay equally.

Has anybody got some advice on low-cost dates that are fun but a little cheaper for a first date? I was thinking of like rock climbing or something.

NUMBERS OF VISITORS TO HOSPITALS & RESIDENTIAL CARE HOMES TO BE EXTENDED TILL 31 AUGUST

0

The current restrictions on the number of visitors to hospitals and residential care homes are set to be extended.

According to The Ministry of Health, the restrictions on the number of visitors to hospitals and residential care homes are to be extended till 31 August 2022.

While the daily number of local COVID-19 cases has fallen gradually over the past week, hospitals continue to face a high volume of both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients.

Homes have had to manage an increased number of COVID-positive residents on-site.

As such, the adjusted visitor safe management measures which have been in place since 7 July 2022 will remain in effect until 31 August 2022.

Up to Two

Admitted patients in the hospital will be allowed up to two pre-designated visitors for the duration of their admission, at all times only one visitor is allowed at the bedside and no more than 30 minutes per visit.

Critically ill patients will be allowed up to five pre-designated visitors.

Reminder to all visitors not to eat or drink in the hospital wards or use the toilets designed for the patients. All visitors are to ensure they are well and encouraged to do an antigen rapid test (ART) before visiting the patients.

All care homes will be allowed up to four pre-designated visitors to visit their loved ones and no more than 30 minutes per visit.

The Ministry Of Health (MOH) seek the understanding of cooperation of the residents, their family members and loved ones as they work to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in our hospitals and care homes.

WOMAN GOT PREGANT AFTER GETTING DRUNK, APPRECIATES THE HEALTHCARE IN SG

0

I have followed this page for a while and looked through the various articles of abortion but deicded to kept it.

With that in mind I find myself in a strange situation where I have a new sense of love for the medical system in my country. It should definitely be like this worldwide.

I’ll admit that it’s not gonna be my first abortion and I know I should be more careful, but I appreciate the fact that I don’t have to ruin my life because I got drunk and said “F it” to rubbers.

I think women should have the right to be a bit careless sometimes. It’s only human to let your emotions get the best of you sometimes. Why should that only apply to men?

So today I called the  hospital and ordered a discreet appointment. I wi show up as if I’m just going to a normal doctors appointment. I will be offered a std test, some forms of who to talk to if you feel like you need it, birth control.

I will be taken care of by sympathetic professional healthcare workers who are really good at their job and they walk me through the journey of single parent hood and I am a mother now.

Good health care should be the reality for all women worldwide.

GRANDMA LEFT BEHIND $1.6M, GRANDCHILD CHARGED FAMILY $300K AS EXECUTOR OF WILL

0

To be very upfront, before I get into the explanation I follow the rules that were laid out to me when my grandma gave me the job as executor of her estate. There was some Grey area which I guess is where the question lies.

My grandma unalived at 81 last year. I am probably the most responsible of her heirs so before she moved to hospice she changed executor from my aunt (who agreed, in the middle of a nasty divorce and didn’t want her ex to get anything or the stress) to me.

My grandma left assets totalling about $1,600,000. A house had to be sold, cash, so many paperwork and meetings. It was basically a 20-hour-a-week part-time job for a year. One of the stipulations of her trust was that the executor would be paid an amount basically of their choosing but had to be fair and “market level.”

I asked a guy I was dating who was in law school and he said the market level for a job like that is about $300 an hour. I kept meticulous records and 50 weeks* 20 hours* $300 is about $300k. That left about. $300k to be split amongst the 11. So each person’s share was $28000. To me, that was a lot of money and everyone should be very grateful but everyone is so angry with me and say I took advantage of the situation.

People are talking about suing me. I did meet with a real lawyer after that threat and he said that while he wished I would have talked to him before I set my payment amount, in terms of the Will there’s not much to sue me over.

I guess the only thing is, is it worth losing my family over it?

HDB OWNER SEEKS ADVICE ON NEIGHBOURS PLAYING MAHJONG AFTER 11PM

0

A post was seen online by a netizen who stays in a HDB and has to deal with the neighbours mahjong playing after 10pm and sometimes all the way till the wee hours of the morning.

It also seems like their neighbours have been doing it for quite some time judging from the way the netizen has posted.

Here is what the netizen said

Just wondering, my neighbour has been playing mahjong, like after 11pm and they carry on way throughout the night and they are super loud and stuff (a bunch of aunties) and was wondering what can we do about it?

This has been affecting my family’s sleep and they have been doing it for quite some time, with no regard for noise pollution.

I know the law now legalises social gambling at home, which would probably make them continue further.

Here are what netizens have to say

  • Go confront them? But legally, nothing.
  • After 11pm, not 10. Call the neighborhood police, not 999 and ask them to make a visit.
  • Legally, the police. Anything else? If you cant win them… join them… lol just kidding, but really your options are either these:
  1. call the police hotline of your district’s NPC(please don’t call 999, it’s meant for emergency usage) and hope police intervention is useful
  2. Mediation between both parties by FSC
  3. win them at their own game
  4. last resort, move out.

Frankly speaking, there’s nothing much you can do to force your neighbour to become normal neighbours. You can play the game and see who’s the worst neighbour and see who relent first.

  • Buy them an auto table lah since you don’t want them to be so noisy. With an auto table the noise pollution sure go down by a lot, you can even buy those ball like thingy to throw inside the table then when the table auto washes the tile the noise won’t be that much also.

GUY WANTS TO BUY INSURANCE TO SUPPORT FRIEND, NETIZENS DISCOURAGE HIM

0

Had a friend who became a insurance agent and contacted me. They’ve had trouble in the past finding jobs, so I’m quite happy for them for managing to find one now. That being said, I’m not exactly sure how many plans am I supposed to be signing with them without falling into some money-leaking pit.

I have a full-time job plus a savings plan and an investment plan with an existing insurance agent. What else is normal to get? Is it normal to have plans with different insurance agents from different companies? I usually get very skeptic of things that are hard sold to me but I also kinda want to support my friend. Not sure what to do here.

Netizens’ comments

  • Investment plans aren’t worth it. Also, I’d say to lookout for yourself first and not buy more plans just because you want to help your friend.
  • If you want to support your insurance agent friend its better to pay him/her a fixed rate for example $100 per hour for his/her advice. If you want to grow your wealth its better to invest in stocks/properties/ETFs.
  • You help one of your so called insurance agent friend only when the others know they all will flock to you because you love to help.
  • Can give me your number? I also insurance agent need people to help me also.
  • Actually don’t know you happy for your friend for what. Insurance and Property agents any Tom Dick Harry Mary Lisa Jane also can be one. Those insurance agencies always say need to interview but end of the day is all bs, they just want the numbers and headcount because more those insurance bosses, the more the merrier. One more person means one more potential deal can be close then they can underwrite ma.

GIRL’S PARENTS SPEND $14,000 EVERY MONTH, THEN EXPECTS AN ALLOWANCE

0

A girl shared a story online asking if it is wrong for her to give her parents little to no allowance when they her parents are earning a total combined income of $14,000.

She added that she paid for her University fees herself without any help from her parents and as soon as she graduated, her parents passed her bills and insurance for her to pay which amounts up to $2,000 a month.

She is currently earning $5,000 and still has to set aside money to save up or her upcoming BTO and also for future retirement needs.

Here is her story

“Is it wrong if I do not give my parents any allowance/ if I give very little (~200)?

I am from a slightly upper mid-income family, (my parents have a combined monthly income of around 14k++). I have recently graduated from Uni and landed myself in a job that pays 5k monthly.

As soon as I graduated, my parents passed bills and insurance for me to pay which sums up to about 2k monthly).

On top of that, I will have to save up for the down payment of my upcoming BTO (~40k) and uni tuition fee loan which cost around 24k++ in total, since I did not get a scholarship and they did not set aside a sum for my university.

Additionally, I am planning to save some money for their retirement/ put the money into their CPF as they do not have any savings besides CPF from work.

My dad will be retiring soon and he contributes a huge part of the income. Hence, they will have to rely on me to provide for them.

Currently, their income is mostly spent on luxury items for my mom and eating expensive food.

I understand I have no say in how they spend their money but my mom demands 20% of my income.”

S.H.E HEBE ACCUSED BY PRC NATIONALISTS THAT SHE IS PRO-TAIWAN INDEPENDENCE FOR EATING PASTA

0

Looks like the netizens in China have taken it too far this time, they accused a Taiwanese celebrity of being pro-Taiwanese independence and a supporter of the USA just because she posted a photo of herself eating pasta.

This sensitive times comes after U.S.A House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who is a Italian descent landed in Taiwan on the of 2nd August 2022.

They are linking that “Italian Food = Pelosi = USA”

This is a bit far-fetched.

S.H.E girl group’s HEBE posted a photo of herself eating pasta on the same day Pelosi landed in Taiwan. Previously, China responded strongly against Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

China Social Media Going Nuts

Her post on the Chinese Social media platform Weibo went viral and PRC netizens attacked her personally leaving insults on her social media account.

The post was viewed over 2.3 million times in under 24 hours and it was later deleted due to the backlashed she face.

However, netizens already saved the photo and use that photo to comment on her other post intimidating her.

Sensitive

A netizen pointed out that, if posting a photo of her eating pasta equates to being a supporter of Taiwanese independence and pro-U.S. Then the PRC netizens should also stop using toilet paper since it is invented by an American.

Joseph Gayetty is an American inventor which invented commercial toilet paper.
