Skytrax has also mentioned that the awards this year were given based on each individual’s airport’s effort in managing the challenges that Covid-19 has posed.
However, there are also other notable awards clinched by Changi Airport such as placing 1st for airport staff and 2nd for cleanliness, and 4th for security.
These awards were voted by travellers who decided based on their favourite pre-pandemic experience as well as Covid-19 experience in the past year.
The 16-year-old teenager charged with the murder of a 13-year-old boy in the River Valley High School ax murder, was in court again today (10 August) via video link.
He was ordered by the court to be remanded 2 more weeks at Changi Prison’s Complex Medical Centre for his psychiatric evaluation.
The court heard that the teen was assessed at IMH in 2019 following a failed suicide attempt.
He has been kept in remand since being charged.
His parents and family members were present at the court.
The teen’s lawyer, Mr Sunil asked for 5 minutes for the parents to speak with the boy to check on his well being.
The prosecution objected, reasoning that this was a capital charge and investigations were still being carried out.
District Judge Brenda Tan rejected the defence’s request, saying:
“We understand the concerns of the parents but I think this is not the time yet for the parents to speak to him.”

The man then blackmailed the girl, wanting more pictures.
The girl’s friend then pretended to be a girl and texted him to expose him, after which the man then said that he would leak everything.

Chan Foo Mun, 43-years-old, was jailed for 8 weeks earlier today (10 August) after pleading guilty to 2 counts under the Infectious Diseases Act.
5 more similar charges were taken into consideration during sentencing.
Chan was given MC by a doctor but he hid that fact from his colleagues and supervisors and returned to work.
Chan worked at J8 Hotel at 8 Townshend Road, when the hotel had a customer who tested positive for Covid-19.
He then went to Care Family Clinic along Buffalo Road, on 19 April 2020, for cough and blocked nose that lasted 2 to 3 days.
The circuit breaker was in effect at the time.
Chan was then given a 5-day MC from 19 to 23 April.
He was told by the doctor that this was a SHN and he should stay home, not even allowed to leave his home to buy food (to leave that task to someone to help him).
Chan then left the clinic without paying or collecting his MC and medication, he then went to work at his hotel.
He didn’t want his pay to be deducted.
He hid the fact that he saw a doctor and was on MC, interacting with his colleagues as well as the hotels guests (he worked as a receptionist).
Chan left his home on 20 April to buy food and interacted with colleagues.
Enforcement officers from MOH went to visit him at his home to question him about his visit to the clinic on 19 April, telling him that he needed to stay home as per the MC, under the law.
