Indonesia navy caught a boat smuggling large quantity of old SAF No.4 uniform on Wednesday (09 November 2016) unloading goods near pulau galang, an island located 40km southeast of batam.

Tanjung pinang naval base commander, first admiral s irawan said:

“There were a total of 19 large quantity of smuggled goods ranging from used electronic equipment, such as television sets and washing machines. One among the 19 quantity carried only military attire, including combat boots, that he believed were SAF-issued items.”

“The question now is why that much military attire is being sent to Batam…we will investigate,”

The unauthorised sale of SAF uniforms or equipment is an offence under military law in Singapore. Those guilty of misappropriation or theft of SAF property can be jailed for up to three years.

Both the captain and driver of the boat are being held in tanjung pinang for questioning.

I agree with those who say cannot suka suka call police, like in the previous incident where students take upskirt video of teacher.

I think let’s stay calm and let the authorities do their checks and investigations. Let’s try to be more understanding to our youths, it’s not easy to grow up. It can be painful.

During yesterday early in the morning, two man knocked on my door and claimed that they are appointed by HDB to check  each unit for damaged building structures. They asked for permission to enter my flat to check the ceiling for both the toilets and the master bedroom.

I felt that something was off as he was not wearing a HDB pass. I found it weird that he showed me a letter from HDB and his work permit. I told him usually HDB would inform residents in advance via notices.

After he left, I called the HDB branch office and they informed me that they did not make arrangements for any contractors to check the units.

Be careful Woodlands! You never know when they are going to knock on your doors next!
