0

A 55-year-old British man, Jonathan Neal, was charged in court earlier today (7 September) for allegedly falsely triggering the fire alarms at Duo Residences, along Fraser Street.

This incident occurred following a dispute with the security officers, all while Neal was under the influence of alcohol.

The Drunken Altercation

At approximately 1 a.m. on July 13, 2023, authorities received a distress call concerning a drunken man causing a commotion at the hotel and residential mixed development located along Fraser Street.

Upon arriving at the scene, preliminary investigations by SPF revealed that Jonathan Neal had engaged in a heated dispute with the security officers stationed at the apartment complex.

This altercation took an alarming turn when Neal allegedly damaged the fire alarm activation panels, inadvertently triggering the fire alarm system.

The repercussions of Neal’s actions were immediate and far-reaching. The false fire alarm resulted in the evacuation of at least 50 hotel guests from Duo Residences.

Panic and confusion gripped the premises as guests and residents hurriedly left the building, unaware that the fire alarm had been falsely triggered.

Jonathan Neal has since sought legal representation and is scheduled to appear in court on October 4.

The Legal Consequences

Jonathan Neal’s actions on that night have not gone without consequences. According to court records, Neal was in Singapore on an employment pass at the time of the incident.

The alleged offenses occurred between 12:56 a.m. and 1:06 a.m. at Duo Residences, 1 Fraser Street, on July 13.

Neal is being charged for allegedly breaking the glass of the emergency door release button on the 2nd floor; denting the activation button of the fire alarm manual call point on the 2nd floor and basement lift lobbies; giving a false alarm to the SCDF by pressing the fire alarm manual call point at the 2nd floor and basement lift lobbies.

INFAMOUS CYCLIST WHO JUMPED ON CAR @ EAST COAST, CHARGED WITH HARASSMENT INSTEAD

0

In a recent turn of events, the case of the Singaporean cyclist who allegedly jumped on a car bonnet during an altercation along East Coast Road has taken a surprising twist.

Nicolette Tan Shi-en, 32, initially faced charges for a rash act endangering the safety of others but now finds herself accused of causing harassment through “threatening behavior.”

Recap

The confrontation between cyclist Nicolette Tan and motorist Elaine Michele Ow occurred on a fateful afternoon, June 2, 2023, along the bustling East Coast Road.

Videos capturing the incident quickly spread across social media platforms, painting a vivid picture of the altercation. In these videos, Tan could be seen allegedly confronting Ow and then, shockingly, jumping onto the bonnet of Ow’s car.

Ow, on her part, was captured on video allegedly driving off with Tan precariously perched on her car’s bonnet. The dramatic confrontation led to both parties facing legal consequences.

Initial Charges

On June 7, 2023, both Nicolette Tan and Elaine Michele Ow were slapped with charges of committing a rash act endangering the personal safety of others, a serious offense that carries significant penalties.

Additionally, Tan faced another charge of obstructing the public way by blocking Ow’s vehicle during the altercation.

A Change in Legal Course

However, the legal landscape shifted on September 7, 2023, when court records revealed that the charge of committing a rash act against Nicolette Tan was withdrawn. Instead, Tan now faces a harassment charge.

The revised charge sheet alleges that Tan used threatening behavior toward Ow by stopping her bicycle in front of Ow’s car, aggressively confronting her, and even opening Ow’s car door.

What Lies Ahead

The next milestone in this legal saga is the pre-trial conferences scheduled for both Tan and Ow, set to commence on October 6, 2023.

For the original charge of committing a rash act endangering the safety of others, Nicolette Tan could have faced imprisonment for up to six months and a fine of up to S$2,500.

However, the revised harassment charge carries even steeper penalties. If convicted of harassment, Tan may face imprisonment for up to six months and a fine of up to S$5,000.

20 Y.O MAN RAPED FRIEND TO HELP HER “GET RID OF GHOSTS”, SAID HE WAS A MEDIUM – JAILED

0

In a chilling case that highlights the darkest depths of deception and exploitation, a 23-year-old man was recently sentenced to 18 years, 11 months, and three weeks in prison, along with 16 strokes of the cane, for a series of crimes that included raping a girl to help her “get rid of spirits” under the guise of being a “temple medium, according to a report by The Straits Times.

A Tale of Deceit and Betrayal

The man, who was 20-years-old at the time of the offences, harbored unreciprocated feelings for a female friend, a 22-year-old woman.

Instead of dealing with his emotions maturely, he took a sinister turn. He concocted a bizarre and twisted plan that involved convincing her of the presence of malevolent spirits trailing her, all while posing as a temple medium with the power to rid her of these ethereal tormentors.

Over several days from 22 July to 27 July in 2019, he executed this nefarious plan, masquerading as a spiritual savior, performing fake consecration rituals that gradually escalated from molestation to rape. To make matters worse, he even attempted to make her pregnant, hoping it would coerce her into staying with him.

The Manipulative Web

The perpetrator and the victim had a history that traced back to their time in secondary school, with the victim addressing him as “kor” (elder brother), despite him being younger.

In mid-2019, they rekindled their friendship when he reached out to her on Facebook. He played the role of a concerned friend, driving her to work, sharing meals with her and another friend, all while nursing romantic feelings that she did not reciprocate.

His descent into deceit deepened as he spun a fantastical tale of his involvement with a temple and his status as a medium for the Chinese mythological character Chang Er.

He further cemented his deception by taking her to the temple, setting the stage for his sinister plot.

The Twisted Rituals

The climax of his manipulation revolved around the claim that malevolent spirits were haunting the victim and her sister, with ghosts lurking within their home.

He assured them that he possessed the ability to perform consecration rituals to banish these spirits, offering amulets and talismans as supposed protection.

During these so-called “rituals,” the man would chant prayers and draw talisman markings on the victim’s body with his finger. Initially, she was fully clothed, but he gradually convinced her to disrobe, deceiving her into believing that these explicit acts were an integral part of the rituals.

On July 25, 2019, he went a step further, coercing her into believing that intercourse was a necessary component of the consecration ritual, exploiting her trust and vulnerability.

It was only after the second rape on July 27, 2019, that the victim confided in her friends about the horrors she had endured. Encouraged by her friends, she then proceeded to lodge a police report, leading to the arrest and prosecution of the man.

TAN KIN LIAN SELLING HIS PE2023 POSTERS, DONATING THE PROCEEDS TO CHARITY

0

Presidential candidate Tan Kin Lian, who finished behind eventual President-elect Tharman Shanmugaratnam and 2nd placed Ng Kok Song with 13.88% of the votes, will be putting his presidential campaign posters up for sale on 9 September.

He said in a Facebook post on 4 September that he will be stationed with a friend between Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre and Bedok MRT station on 9 September from 9am to 11am.

They will be selling about 30 of the posters on a first come first served basis for $10 each.

In a Facebook post yesterday morning (6 September), he said that he was told by his campaign manager that he might need to apply for a temporary permit for the sale of the posters.

However, he “searched the Police website and could not find any form to apply for this permit.”

Someone then suggested to him that he had to apply for the permit from NEA but he didn’t think that it was applicable since “I was not selling food”.

He will be proceeding with the sale on Saturday anyway “and see if the police of other(s) harass(ed) me”, as he highlighted how he “cannot understand why it should take so much trouble just to sell the used poster to my supporters.

He also said in his Facebook post that he will be donating the proceeds to a Muslim charity “because the Malay community probably need help more than the other communities” before he removed that part of his statement from his Facebook post. (See screenshot below.)

Tan Kin Lian’s Facebook post

I announced a sale of my used posters at the concourse next to Bedok MRT station.

My campaign manager said that I may have to apply for a “temporary permit” for the sale. I searched the Police website and could not find any form to apply for this permit. I could not even find a form to make an enquiry and ask if the permit was necessary.

Someone suggested that I had to apply for a permit from the National Environment Agency (NEA). But as I was not selling food, I did not think that this was applicable.

I wrote to the Election Department to ask if I needed a permit to sell the election posters. They have not replied to me yet.

My friend told me that the political parties go around to sell their party newspapers. They did not apply for a permit.

I also sell my books from my online bookstore. I did not need a permit either.

A malicious person asked the public to call the NEA hotline and report me for “illegal hawking”. I looked at the definition of hawking. It included the sale of goods, but the peddler had to move from place to place or door to door. I would be staying at a fixed place.

I had earlier announced that the proceeds would go to my friend, who helped me to put up and take down the posters. I have now decided to donate the proceeds to a Muslim charity that takes care of the poor and destitute. This is a small sum anyway.

I chose the Muslim charity because the Malay community probably need help more than the other communities.

I will proceed with the sale on Saturday, and see if the Police or other harassed me. I cannot understand why it should take so much trouble just to sell the used posters to my supporters who wish to keep them as a souvenir.

WOMAN ROBBED IN SHOPPING MALL TOILET AT NIGHT, KENA WHACK UNTIL NEED PLASTIC SURGERY

0

In a shocking incident that unfolded in Kuching, Sarawak, a Malaysian woman became the victim of a violent robbery within the confines of a shopping mall restroom. The harrowing incident occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on a fateful Saturday, September 2nd.

The assailants, two individuals aged 19, subjected the unsuspecting woman to a terrifying ordeal. They not only robbed her of her valuables but also subjected her to brutal violence, leaving her with injuries so severe that they necessitated plastic surgery.

Despite the horrific nature of the incident, the local police acted swiftly, apprehending the two suspects within a mere 24 hours of the robbery taking place, according to The Borneo Post.

The Details

As reported by The Borneo Post, the incident unfolded at approximately 3:53 a.m. on September 2nd. The victim, a young woman, entered the restroom facilities of a shopping mall in Kuching. It was here that she fell prey to the two assailants who forcibly took her gold jewelry and mobile phone.

But their criminal acts did not stop at theft. Shockingly, they subjected the 24-year-old woman to a merciless beating and ended up breaking her nose, rendering her unconscious. It was her boyfriend who later discovered her grievously injured in the restroom.

Upon finding her in such a dire state, they immediately contacted the authorities at 3:53 a.m., as reported by The Borneo Post.

The Disturbing Message

As news of the incident spread, a message allegedly from the victim’s friend started circulating on local WhatsApp groups. This message provided distressing details of the attack, stating that the victim’s face had been terribly disfigured, and her nose had been broken in the assault, and she had to get plastic surgery to fix her face.

However, it’s worth noting that the English translation of the message mistakenly used described the female victim as a male instead, according to China Press. Nonetheless, the message issued a stark warning to the public, emphasizing the need for caution when dining in the local area.

It specifically urged individuals not to venture to the bathroom or car park alone, highlighting the importance of personal safety.

Swift Justice

Remarkably, the local authorities managed to apprehend the two robbers within a mere 24 hours of the incident. During their arrest, law enforcement also seized a gold ring, two gold chains, and a luxury handbag that were traced back to the suspects.

It is worth noting that both suspects had no prior criminal records and tested negative for drugs. However, given the gravity of their actions, they are now facing serious charges.

Legal Consequences

For their involvement in this brutal crime, the police have initiated an investigation under Section 394 of the Penal Code. This section pertains to voluntarily causing harm while committing a robbery.

If found guilty, the two suspects could potentially face up to 20 years’ imprisonment, in addition to a possible fine or caning.

WIFE DISCOVERS HUSBAND’S PANTIES COLLECTION OF EX-GFS

0

A woman shared her story on how her husband is having a ‘sick’ hobby, she found out he has a collection of woman’s underwear tucked hidden behind the backboard of the bed while doing spring cleaning.

Here is the story:

I’m married to my husband for 4 years and I found out that he has been keeping a collection of woman’s underwear at the backboard of the bed we sleep in.

He had each of his underwear wrapped in a zip-lock bag and labelled each of the bags with many different woman’s names. I saw my name was on one of the bags as well. I suddenly realised it was one of my old pairs of panties that went missing.

I confronted him and he said:

“Some people collect Pokemon cards some collect stamps, your husband collects memories”.

I asked him what kind of memories was he keeping, he said that it is the collection of his ex-gf’s panties and when I ask him why was it stored in a zip-lock bag.

He said: “IT WAS TO SEALLLLLLLLLLLL IN THE FLAVOUR“.

I am lost for words, This is one of the most disgusting things I have seen in my life. and yes, he did emphasise the word ‘seal”.

I told him to throw it away, he agreed too quickly and he went to the rubbish chute to throw it. But he took too long and I realised his car keys were missing!!!

I went down to the carpark to look for him and the car was gone!!! I thought he did not want to throw it away and hide it in his car.

I called him and he said that he is buying some Macdonald as an apology. But I still doubt if he has really thrown it away.

A month went by to CNY eve and I got suspicious of him after he started to have the habit of buying Mcdonald or cakes for me. I checked on his credit card statement while he was sleeping and found out that he has paid for a self-storage $58 a month.

I choose to turn a blind eye as long as I am not sleeping with the underwear of 11 other women near my bed.

This is the worse Chinese New Year ever.

PRISON OFFICER SURPRISED INMATE WITH PIZZA ON HIS B’DAY, PRISONER MOVED TO TEARS

0

In the digital age of viral content, heartwarming stories often take center stage, reminding us that even in the most unexpected places, kindness can shine through.

Such is the case of Ferdinand Malambae, a prison officer in Indonesia, who became an internet sensation for an act of kindness that captured the hearts of millions.

The Viral Video

It all began when Ferdinand decided to surprise an inmate named Boyok on his birthday. The heartwarming event was captured on video and uploaded to TikTok, where it quickly gained immense popularity.

As of now, the video has garnered a staggering 23.9 million views, leaving viewers touched by this unexpected act of compassion.

The Prank that Started it All

The video opens with Ferdinand walking into a room with several prison cells. He greets the inmates, setting the stage for what was about to unfold. Ferdinand then stands in front of Boyok’s cell, the inmate whose birthday was being celebrated, and announces a playful prank.

The video was captioned: “We are going to prank the guy who is celebrating his birthday.”

With a mischievous grin, Ferdinand accuses Boyok of badmouthing him in the past days, trying to add an element of suspense to the surprise.

“You’re the one who saying bad things about me right?” Ferdinand questions.

Boyok denies the accusations and suggests Ferdinand check with the other inmates. Unbeknownst to Boyok, Ferdinand had orchestrated the prank with the cooperation of the other prisoners, who falsely claimed that Boyok had indeed badmouthed the officer.

“He is crying, guys,” the text in the video says, as the emotional tension rises.

Despite Boyok’s stoic demeanor, Ferdinand continues with the charade. He teases Boyok about underestimating him and then, perhaps sensing a turning point, asks him about his age.

“How old are you?” Ferdinand inquires, to which Boyok then answers “20, commander”.

Ferdinand, now aware that it is indeed Boyok’s birthday, seizes the moment. The prisoners from the neighboring cells join in to sing Boyok a heartfelt birthday song, bringing tears to his eyes.

“He is crying” the text in the video underscores the emotional impact of the moment.

Making a Birthday Wish

The surprise takes an even more heartwarming turn when Ferdinand turns to another man holding several pizza boxes, each adorned with a candle on top. Ferdinand encourages Boyok to make a wish before blowing out the candle.

Boyok, in a moment of sincerity, shares that he hopes to repent from his mistakes.

As the candle is extinguished, Ferdinand announces the grand finale of the celebration: the other prisoners in the adjacent cells are also invited to partake in the pizzas.

WIFE OVERREACTS AFTER FRIENDS LAUGH AT HER “7TH MONTH MAKEUP”

0

My wife is a makeup artist, She always has those heavy makeup looks on which can be weird for me as guy sometimes, but she loves it and enjoys it so no problems there. though my friends and family tend to make funny, lighthearted comments on her makeup which she seems to take too seriously.

Now the situation, My 27th birthday was few days ago. we celebrated at a small diner with my guy friends and my wife. now my guy friends are brutally honest and make jokes and tease all the time, my wife knows how they are so no surprises there.

Anyways, My wife took a minute to use the toilet to get her makeup fixed as me and the boys were chatting. when she got back she asked me how she looked and before I could answer, My friend Austin responded by jokingly saying “Damn, you look like you just got out of the cancer ward with that heavy makeup on your face!”. the rest of the guys started laughing and I just stared at my wife. she got very upset and started arguing with Austin about how awful he was. others joined in and there was so much comotion. I felt upset that they were fighting during my birthday celebration.

I asked my wife to calm down and take a seat but she asked if I was okay with my friends making fun of her. Austin said “come on It was a joke!” I threw my hands up and said that I admit that my wife overreacted because really it was a joke, She lashed out on me and took a Grab home. The party was cut short and when I got home we began arguing.

I told her she overreacted and that she shouldn’t take everything seriously knowing how great she always looks but she turned it into an argument about how I let my friends insult her, and how I should’ve defended her and her integrity after I basically “forced” thise guys upon her when she was the ine who arranged for this enitre celebration.

she kept crying about getting humiliated and me dismissing her feelings and saying she overreacted.

GUY’S GF CHEATED ON HIM WITH MARRIED MAN, WANTS TO SABO THE GUY

0

A netizen shared how he found out that his girlfriend has been cheating on him with a married man and is considering telling his wife about it.

Here is the story:

I (29M) found out my girlfriend (30F) has been cheating on me with someone who has a wife and daughter. Should I tell the wife?

I had been seeing my partner for about 6 months, though we have known each other for most of our lives.

Recently, a mutual party reached out to me, out of the blue, with evidence of messages, pictures, and voice notes that her and her co-worker (who has a wife and daughter) have been sending back and forth to each other for the majority of our relationship, possibly longer.

I confronted her about it immediately. She denied everything and we promptly split up.

What I am unsure of, however, is if I should reach out to the wife and tell her the truth.

My conscience tells me I absolutely should; that she deserves to know the truth just as I deserved to know. However, I am hesitant to potentially ruin the lives of three people by sharing it and disrupting the marriage.

I mean, we live in such a tiny country and there are really only one or two degrees of separation between anyone here. I’m concerned for mutual friends that may be inconvenienced by this.

I’m torn and looking for advice. My heart hurts, but I am so so glad I found out sooner rather than later, and I know I will recover. But I can’t shake the feeling that I would not find the means to forgive myself if I kept this a secret. I don’t know… maybe I should.

GOJEK DRIVER REFUSE TO DROP OFF AT HOSPITAL’S A&E FOR MAN HAVING HEART ATTACK

0

In the early hours of September 2, a 52-year-old man named Chew found himself in a life-threatening situation. He was experiencing symptoms of a heart attack and decided to book a Gojek ride to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

However, what should have been a straightforward journey turned into a harrowing ordeal as the driver insisted on taking him to the wrong drop-off point that Chew had mistakenly booked.

Heart attack

Chew had previously survived a heart attack, so when he felt the familiar chest pain and difficulty breathing at 3 am on that day, he knew he had to act swiftly. With trembling hands, he reached for his phone and booked a Gojek ride from his home in Bukit Panjang to Ng Teng Fong Hospital.

As Chew anxiously waited for his ride, he didn’t realize that he had accidentally booked the wrong location on the Gojek app – Tower A instead of Tower B, where the hospital’s A&E department was located. The trouble began when the driver arrived, and Chew tried to correct the course.

Chew explained to the driver, in urgent tones, that he needed to go to Tower B, where the A&E department was situated. However, the driver, seemingly fixated on the app’s instructions, continued driving towards Tower A.

What followed was a heated exchange between the two, with Chew pleading for his life and the driver insisting that Chew had set Tower A as the drop-off point.

Walked over to A&E on foot

To make matters worse, when Chew was finally dropped off at Tower A, he found himself in darkness. The area was deserted, and panic set in as he realized the severity of his situation. The driver’s refusal to adjust the route, despite Chew’s desperate pleas, left him feeling abandoned and vulnerable.

Chew, however, wasn’t ready to give up. Despite the pain and fear, he summoned every ounce of strength left in him and decided to make the journey to Tower B on foot. He knew that his life depended on reaching the A&E department in time for treatment.

Throughout his agonizing journey, Chew couldn’t help but wonder why the driver lacked the empathy to change his route for a passenger in clear distress. He questioned the driver’s decision not to make a simple U-turn that could have saved precious minutes.

In a surprising turn of events, after undergoing angioplasty and receiving medical leave, Chew still tipped the driver the fare of S$18 via the app.

He was under the impression that he had not paid for the trip, but later learned that the payment had already been processed through his linked PayLah account. Despite his disappointment, Chew chose not to owe the driver anything.

Resolution and Lessons

Gojek, in response to the incident, expressed regret over Chew’s condition and pledged to resolve the matter. They said that they were sorry about the incident and wished Chew a smooth recovery.

They also issued a statement advising users to call relevant authorities in cases of life-threatening illnesses or emergencies.
