SKIPPING CNY TO AVOID RELATIVES: “GET A PLASTIC SURGERY TO GET A BF”

0

I do not want to attend Chinese New Year gatherings because of the sake of my mental health.

I am 25(f) had a craniotomy 2 years ago. Lunar New Year is approaching and its common to have a family gathering where relatives far and near comes together..

I never liked going as I have skin problems similar to the late Michael Jackson .. because they would always ask “hows you skin” “Still no boyfriend? Owh yeah its because of your skin right.. told you to do plastic surgery”

After that no one else talks to me.

And it’s the same every year. I have done great things that they can ask, like how I managed and completed ironman and how I am getting stronger in the gym and hey I run a pretty dope home baking business. But nope they decide to make me feel that I am only “visible” because of my condition and nothing else.

They would “celebrate” my one year of craniotomy like they would remember such shyt but they cannot remember the day I won a competition as a child or me completing my PhD. They can ask what are my plans after getting my PhD and stuff but nope! My condition seems to be a hotter topic and they would repeat the same question.

Since the surgery every small or big gathering, it always been a hot topic.. they really do make me feel tht I am only seen for my skin condition and my recent surgery, everything else I have done is nothing..

Even my neurosurgeon said my Mental health is very important. I really do not feel like going as it just drowns me in my own emotions thinking that I am only seen because of that.. I feel left out, I feel sad.. but at the same time sorry if I have to turn down a family gathering.

MAN FILES POLICE REPORT: HIRES CLEANING SERVICE ON FB, BUT SCAMMED $7,000

A netizen recently shared on Facebook after he was scammed of his savings which were saved for buying his home in the future.

Not only that, part of the money was needed to pay his credit cards and now he will be getting credit card interest because of the scam.

He said that after the unfortunate accident he have no choice but to work harder.

Here is the story:

Hi All,

This post is to raise awareness on the recent cleaning service scam that i was a victim of..

I recently saw a post on facebook on cheap cleaning services so i decided to get it for my girl. I was contacted by facebook messages and they said they would contact me to give me more details on it.Having sourcing for cleaning services online before and didnt have problems, i assume that this would be safe.

I wasn’t suspicious at the start cause some business owners would rather contact thru WhatsApp for easier communication.

I agreed and true enough, i have gotten a message from the “Cleaning services” under the below number.

I was instructed to download the app which i wasnt suspicious of being capable to route all your messages(your banking OTP, ETC) to their application.

I only found out that i was a victim of scam after trust application notified me that i need to approve a transaction which was never incurred by me as i was busy at work.

I swiftly logged in my POSB ibanking app to find out that my hard earned savings of SGD7k was being transfered to pay for my credit card to increase the limit so that the scammer could swipe the maximum amount. I quickly acted and called DBS hotline to freeze all my credit card and accounts(which is done within an hour). I am now left in debt and i am liable as DBS said if they are unable to recover the funds, i would be liable for the credit card bill which was incurred WITH INTEREST if i am unable to recover the funds and pay off the credit card charges incurred.

I am really disappointed and to make things worse, i have contracted covid and i think i am affected psychologically by these turns of bad event happening after one another. I am still thinking that OTP itself as a verification is not a good way to authenticate the transaction as the scammer could have just routed your messages to their app and use your card. Trust card app notification of approval was the thing that actually saved me from incurring more losses. So i am wondering why major banks like DBS didnt take an additional measures to ensure that the transaction was actually done by you by adding an exrra step of push notification to approve/deny transaction function like trust, instead of just having to rely on OTP.

Looks like i have to work for another year to pay off the debt incurred and actually have some savings. This savings was actually downpayment for my home purchase at malaysia but looks like i have to give up on this and work harder.

I have attached the police report and whatsapp messages for reference. Please take care and i hope nobody falls into victim of this new scam and never allow the application to access your phone messages or calls if it is downloaded from an unidentified source.

The victim spoke to Singapore uncensored and said:

Hi i was recently involved in an scam. I feel DBS should be responsible as they should implement more security feature instead of just using OTP to approve credit card transaction

POLICE INVESTIGATING S’PORE-BASED CRYPTO PLATFORM HODLNAUT FOR CHEATING & FRAUD

0

The Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) of Singapore is investigating a crypto platform that is based in Singapore, “Hodlnaut”, and its’ directors for alleged fraud and cheating.

They are being investigated under Section 417 and 424A of the Penal Code 1871, after the Singapore Police Force received multiple reports against the company, for false representations.

The Business Times reported that the police had received multiple reports against Hodlnaut between August and November this year, alleging that the directors falsely represented their exposure to a digital token.

The police also advised those who deposited digital tokens with Hodlnaut, and who think they have become a victim of fraud, to come forward and make a police report, and provide documents relating to transactions with the firm as it would help them with their investigations.

Hodlnaut previously submitted an application for judicial management back in August following the collapse of Terra-Luna.

They claimed that it would help them with their recovery, and they also wanted to avoid liquidating their assets.

The firm then halted user withdrawals, token swaps and deposits on 8 August, and they said that they told MAS that they wanted to withdraw their application for a Major Payment Institution license, which would enable them to offer crypto services.

They then slashed all their open interest rates to 8$ annually from 22 August in an attempt to stabilise their liquidity, as well as cut costs, according to Coindesk.

Hodlnaut also laid off 80% of their employees to further reduce expenses, and they wrote on their blog that they were working hard on a recovery plan.

0

Blanca Arellano, 51, was a Mexican yearning for love.

She flew more than 4800km to see a Peruvian man she met on a gaming online.

Flew for love

On October 31, Arellano flew from Mexico City to Lima, Peru, to meet Juan Pablo Jess Villafuerte, a 37-year-old man.

Her last destination was the coastal town of Huacho, where Villafuerte lived and from whence her family had last heard from her on November 7.

According to the police, she told her niece Karla Arellano that her relationship with Villafuerte was going well and that she was in love at the time.

Missing

However, after two weeks of no communication from Arellano, her niece requested assistance on Twitter.

“I never imagined I’d be in this position, but today I’m asking for your help in spreading this message and finding one of the most loved and significant persons in my life.” Blanca Olivia Arellano Gutiérrez, my aunt, went missing in Peru on Monday, November 7. “We are concerned for her life,” the tweet said.

According to her relatives, Arellano and Villafuerte had been in an internet romance for several months before she traveled for Peru. She frequently expressed her affections for Villafuerte and stated that she was “glad and at peace” with her relationship.

Her niece Karla was the first to notice something was amiss when she fell silent.

“I contacted Juan P [Villafuerte] because he was the only person she knew in Peru, and that’s when our nightmare began,” her niece posted on Twitter.

Arellano’s niece uploaded a screenshot of her initial discussion with Villafuerte, in which she urged him to contact her aunt.

“Is she all right?” she inquired.

Villafuerte stated that he had ceased communicating with her several days ago and that “she chose to leave because I couldn’t deliver the life she desired, became weary with me, and departed to get a plane ticket back to Mexico.”

Murder

After the post went viral, Peruvian authorities took action.

On November 10, they discovered a severed finger on the Huacho beach.

According to detectives, the fingers had been removed and still had a silver ring on them.

A day later, officials discovered a faceless head and an arm. The next day, a body with no internal organs surfaced on the same shore.

The ring on the found finger let them identify Arellano through her relatives. Peruvian officials apprehended Villafuerte as the prime suspect in Arellano’s murder on November 17.

Organ Trafficking

Juan Pablo Villafuerte was detained on human organ trafficking allegations,”

Villafuerte, a medical student, allegedly shared TikTok movies of human parts for days after Arellano went missing. Blood traces were discovered around his residence, according to investigators.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Regardless of whether who’s wrong or right, that was reckless without a doubt. He opened the door while moving, had eyes off the road and had two hands off the wheel.
  • Manual car / both hand off wheel / eyes off road, legendary driver in some way
  • The merging lane must be wait and give way to the first person , must follow the road rules ,no commands
  • Cam Driver is just SORE that his powerful car didn’t manage to overtake NV200 at the merging lane.
  • How could this company Setsco hire such driver? Did he even know he carried his company name when opening the door?
  • Dangerous driving with full concentration with right hand on door handle, Left hand showing off his longest asset n mouth with cigarette n eyes concentration not to the front road but fully on whether cam car receive his actions. Clearly a case of dangerous driving n should be reported to TP or his company for further action. Thanks
