It was my birthday. I booked the restaurant after getting the RSVPs. I sat there alone, at a table for 10. Absolutely alone.
The restaurant staff were horribly distressed for me and it hurt seeing the pitying looks, so I left after an hour, after nobody answered my calls or my texts.
I could see they’d read them. I’ve blocked all of them. Every single last one. I am literally alone.

At least you blocked them. I think it’s refreshing to know you have 0 friends as opposed to not knowing 10 “friends” don’t actually care that much about you.
Happy birthday! This happened to a co worker of mine. I know people RSVPed to say they were coming because we all worked in a close environment and it was the talk of the office. I went with my partner. No one else showed up. I ended up calling a friend when the clock kept ticking and no one else came and they kindly came at the last minute. Which made 3 of us and an extremely upset host. My co worker sat and wailed in her bathroom (house party) for most of the night, she was humiliated. Really though all the people who lied and said they were going should have been ashamed of themselves. It was disgraceful on their part and I’ll never forget it. My opinion of them not the host has never been the same. I’m glad you blocked them. Try and spoil yourself with something for you and move on to people who deserve you
In a way, you’ve been set free… You’re now free to cut those people out of your life, and find people who will be your real friends.
There’s always at least someone that will care out there, you’re going to find them eventually, keep your head up until then. Things will get better, happy birthday.
TikTok user @nopenotsyaf, who previously posted a video on TikTok criticising a Grab driver for not going up to the 3rd floor to pick her up because she’s “on crutches”, has since drawn the ire of netizens for her perceived self-entitlement.
In her video, she said that the driver charged her extra to pick her up from the 3rd floor instead of the 1st floor because she said that she was injured and on crutches.
She also added that she complained about the driver to Grab, resulting in the driver being suspended for 72 hours and not being able to work.
This situation.. Shake my head… Don’t ask me why, I am abit triggered by this issue.
First and foremost, she mentioned that she has escalated the issue to Grab, so why does she even need to do up a video like this? I myself have had my fair share of countless rude drivers which I decided to highlight to customer service because I felt that it was too much. Others, I just move on. I’m sure all of us has experienced a bad ride before no matter how polite we try to be.
In this situation, just saying.. You’re on crutches but your destination seem to imply you’re going to be out at Boat Quay which obviously will require some walking. Maybe I won’t drag this point further, but people will immediately think “Happy2 around Boat Quay can but go to Level 1 cannot?” even if you’re going for a formal meeting or whatever. So, your office lobby will be wet but Boat Quay will be safe and dry for you in crutches? Contradiction here.
And you claim the grab uncle is rude in his messages? How is this rude? You can type out “I am on crutches, please come up to level 3 carpark as I cannot come down” – no sorry for inconvenience, no thank you – granted you said please, but your tone can also be construed as rude. In my opinion, his tone on the other hand is just how normal mandarin speaking uncle talk without intentionally being rude. The uncle is obviously on the road driving and texting at the same time. Common sense.
Finally, for every situation, there is a choice of grab service to choose from. If I am bringing a pet, even if my pet is a hamster or an ant or a cockroach, I will book for GrabPet. If I have a child that needs child seats below the age of 7, I book a GrabFamily. And even if you do not want to book GrabAssist for yourself because you’re on crutches and not a wheelchair, at least figure out if your needs (for the driver to go up the carpark to pick you up) will require additional charges. In your case, the Grab uncle is entitled to claim extra charges from you because I believe this falls under Grab’s terms of “Beyond the original booking”. Some terms are vague for unforeseeable circumstances such as this.
Sure it is their job to provide you a good service, but nothing is free in this world. Additional service, will require additional payment. You ask for extra sambal for Nasi Lemak, shop also will charge you extra 50 cents for it. You ask to pack and go, they can also charge you extra 20 to 50 cents. Grab drivers have the right to demand for compensation for extra requirements in their jobs. It’s unfortunate that people like you still exist causing people to be uncomfortable asking for payments they deserve.
At the end of the day, whatever we do as a Muslimah, Akhlaq is important. You may think you are right, but in this case, you are sadly mistaken. Do accept that there will always be room for improvement in the way we think. The mistake lies in not attempting to understand another party’s point of view or (in this case) the Grab uncle’s plight.
Media Statement on Sale of Snack Product Marketed with Hemp Label and Content
06 Jan 2023
The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) is aware that a snack product marketed with hemp label and content, ‘Piranha Power Pack Nuts’, was recently put on sale in vending machines. As the product is suspected to contain hemp seed flour which is derived from the Cannabis Sativa plant, CNB has engaged the company who had imported the product to remove it from sale. Investigations by CNB are ongoing.
2. The botanical name for the hemp plant is Cannabis Sativa. In other words, hemp is cannabis. This means that all hemp proteins, fibre, seeds, oils etc that are derived from the hemp plant are derived from the Cannabis Sativa plant. Cannabis and its derivatives are listed as Class ‘A’ controlled drugs in the First Schedule of the Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA) 1973. In addition, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the psychoactive chemical substance in cannabis that causes users to feel “high” and there are adverse health impacts linked to its use. Any products derived from the Cannabis Sativa plant or its seeds can contain controlled drugs such as THC, despite the product labels indicating otherwise.
3. Singapore adopts a strict policy of zero tolerance towards controlled drugs. The importation, exportation, possession, sale and consumption of controlled drugs or products containing controlled drugs, even in trace amounts, is an offence under the MDA. CNB would like to remind importers and retailers that any product containing hemp derivatives should not be imported for sale. Anyone who had purchased the ‘Piranha Power Pack Nuts’ snack should not consume it, and should dispose of it. Members of the public can contact CNB at 1800-325-6666 for advice and assistance if they come across other food products or substances suspected to contain controlled drugs. They can also make a report to CNB at https://www.eservices.cnb.gov.sg/feedback.
Police officers from Jurong and Clementi Police Divisions ascertained the identities of the two suspects through the use of police cameras and ground enquiries.
They were subsequently arrested within 11 hours of the report being made, and the stolen motorcycle was then recovered.
They were charged in court earlier today (7 January) with theft of a motor vehicle with common intention, under Section 379A, Section 34 of the Penal Code 1871.
The Singapore Police Force urged motorcycle owners to park their vehicles in well-lit areas and install anti-theft alarm systems and make sure it is well maintained.
They also advised motorists to remove their cash cards and other valuables from their vehicles before leaving, and not to leave their keys in the vehicles.

Jay Chou is set to hold his 15 January concert in Malaysia, at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur – however, it seems the Malaysian football fans are none too happy about it.
This is because the stadium is playing host to the Malaysian national football team’s home matches, where they will be playing against Thailand in the AFF Cup.
The stadium, which has a capacity of 87,411, has made only 59,000 tickets for the football match available with the rest of the remaining seats being cordoned off for the setup of Chou’s concert.
The reduced seating for the football match has drawn the ire of Malaysian football fans, with one irate Malaysian telling the singer “because of your concert, Bukit Jalil Stadium will be losing 21,000 football fans this Saturday. “
The outpouring of attacks from Malaysian football fans has since caught the attention of Jay Chou, who took to his Instagram to respond.
He addressed the Malaysian football fans, saying that he understands the importance of football to them, and that he has no problem postponing his concert.
He added that the most important thing is that they should go and ask their football association or the management of the venue whether they can allow him to postpone the concert.
He further added that he doesn’t have a problem with it, as long as he can perform for his fans, and that he hopes everyone who comes and watches his concert can do so happily.
Other netizens have since jumped to the defence of Chou, asking the football fans not to embarrass Malaysia in front of foreigners who have done nothing wrong.
The Malaysian Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh, said that Chou’s team had booked the stadium 4 years ago on 19 march 2019, while the Football Association of Malaysia had only booked the stadium on 18 August last year.
She added that “you cannot simply cancel and international gig and disrupt the whole thing”.
A video emerged online showing a woman appealing to an alleged group of “Hillion Mall Gangsters” to leave her son alone.
She said that her son had run away from home again wearing his uniform, and that he was being held up by the alleged gangsters.
She was seen in the video walking around her HDB estate as she appeals to the residents at Bukit Panjang to help her.

sec 2 and return home at 3am? When i was still in NS yr 2004, if i were to return home at 8pm after book out, hanger, water pipe all waiting. My first time going home late was when I got my full time job. Book out time, my dad will be at the sentry gate waiting. Book in he will send me till sentry gate. His hard work and sacrifices pays off.
Due to hight cost of living with higher monthly housing loan, parent got no choice but to go and work. We must not blamed parents totally. People might easy to talk and say for not taking good care or not giving enough time and attention to their kids. The facts that, both parents got no choice but to left them and go to work.
Problem child since you say just send him Boys Home for BPC…. Rather he mix wrong company and do drugs or whatsoever is more worse… Act now before too late for his future… Furthermore underage not goin home occasionally and not abiding parents rules of time to go home…
We have here a very worried mother looking for her son. If you are not concerned and show no empathy, at least please spare her your harsh jokes… please..
A netizen shared how she visited a stall at Kovan Hawker Center to buy some mutton soup and paid for it using her CDC vouchers.
She said that the hawker allegedly refused to give her the packed food, and told her that she didn’t receive any credit on her end.
The netizen added that the auntie also allegedly refused to show her the past transaction history on her device, and she ended up having $7 deducted for nothing.

Act blur scam 2023
Infuriating leh these incidents zzzz You did the right thing by emailing CDC. $7 is still money. If CDC escalates the matter I am pretty sure this Aunt will act blur again but with the incriminating evidence I doubt she can pull it off twice haha.
I don’t know why they chose to sign up as a Vendor for CDC voucher then? Or is it a must?
Auntie claiming privacy, my pantat la privacy.. She’s probably done that before! Call the police.
Had a similar incident happen to me but it was with PayLah at Bedok. Instead, I pulled out my phone, launched voice recording, placed it infront of the aunty and told the Aunty don’t mind I record our conversation so I can get the bank to look into the issue to help us both resolve the payment and I won’t block the queue. Could visually see the aunty face turn black and she suddenly say “OH PAYMENT GO THROUGH ALREADY”. Afterwards learnt that the stall was notorious for pulling stunts like this. After that incident the owners used black marker to colour some parts of the QR code making it unusable. Heard some uncle got angry and brought down cleaning Alcohol to wipe the QR code before scanning and a fight ensued
OP please report this to police. The aunty (believe is the hawker’s extended family) always act blur and a few times short changed people on purpose but she seems like she did it intentionally Info: wfh a lot, eat at kovan market most of the time and overheard conversation.
‘1993 friends who are joining the 30’s club, how are you guys doing?
30 is a strange number. At 29, I feel young still but once 30 hits it’s like wow, I’m old.
Work wise seems like everything is going well but tbh I’m having sleepless nights the past couple of nights. The thought of being 30 and unmarried, parents aging right infront of your eyes , you being a whole lot closer to death, you hear friends who suddenly fell sick.
You’re sitting there in your room, the same room you’ve been in since you were 10 and as you scroll insta, you see your ex-classmates in their fully furnished BTO happily with their children and you’re like hmm.
Guess it’s just the first few days of the new year but it’ll get better ahahahahahaha
How about you guys?

if 30’s is old… then how about us in the 40’s club….
I don’t feel 30 at all 🥲🥲 Sometimes I’m a bit stressed cause the things I enjoy aren’t exactly befitting a 30 year old LOL. I’m still bumbling around like I am in my early 20s, I still don’t feel ready for kids (or feel that maternal fire that I’m supposed to feel, according to the older folks lol), still want to just enjoy my life… … then I’m like f it, I’m going to be 40 in 10 years time so I might as well enjoy the things that I like right now to the fullest lol
33M here with muscular dystrophy so basically in a 70YO body. Live life on your own terms and never let society dictate it. There is no age cap on most things you want to do/accomplish in life.
gonna appreciate being 29 til April hits lmao i was watching something the other day and the person mentioned she’s 28 while doing something spectacular. got me thinking – i didnt feel like i was 28 when i was. i was so focused on stuff i wasn’t achieving – heck even right now i’m focusing on the things i didn’t achieve by 30. but honestly if i were to ask 25 y/o me if i’m happy with where i am rn, honestly she wouldn’t even dream of being where i am today. As many things i have not achieved, there are many things i have achieved before hitting 30.
My boyfriend got upset after I wish another guy a happy birthday
It was an actor from my favorite movies birthday yesterday,, so I went on instgram and wished him a happy birthday and told him to have a good one. He responded to me a few hours later and of course I freaked out and got super happy
I started almost crying in my room because, I mean, who wouldn’t? This dude is my all time crush AND favorite actor, it’s only natural for me to respond that way.
I told my boyfriend afterwards, which might not have been the best idea but at the time Im just so happy, and he didn’t take kindly to it.
He said I’m only doing this to upset him, and that I say I love him, but then I “go act like this with other guys”.
It really confused me because of course I love my boyfriend but I wanted to wish him a happy birthday, it was the perfect time to be able to talk to him and it made me so happy that he texted back to me
He wants to break up now and say we should “take some time away from eachother” I really don’t plan to stop talking to the actor, I really am not sure if I should reach out to my bf or not?
