Facebook user ASma Cherif Kaddour, posted on her Facebook account that she had spent $15,000 on an 18k gold-diamond necklace.
She claimed that the necklace that she bought was fake after the gold in the necklace started fading away after she took it for cleaning.
Here is what she said
Hi all, many thanks for your messages and empathy following my post telling the story of me being fooled by TAKA JEWELLERY.
The surprising part is that there is not a single reaction from Taka which is really surprising from a “reputable” company.
For those who didn’t read my story I have bought a 15k$ diamond necklace that turned out to be fake. I discovered it after the gold color started changing and took it for cleaning.
Even the supposed gold was dud! be careful guys
Netizens’ comments
You have read the certificate carefully or not? If not wrong it was written there18k white gold……18k gold is not purely gold, gold plated colours will faked after some time; for the diamonds, you have to check what was written on the certificate too…… if everything was clearly wrote on the certificate, you can’t say the item is fake. I suggest you take the necklace back to them for clarification before you makes this public accusation, you may get into trouble if you misunderstood what you pay for, the company can sure you for defamation and claim damages!
(OP) They are saying it’s gold and diamond! There is no other definition to gold and diamonds! Sorry but diamonds are diamonds
you read carefully, 18kw? Seems like it means 18k while gold; 18k gold is gold plated, not really golds. Anyway I think the best things to do is go to them and clarify, if not in the end you might lose the case.
18K is not gold plated. It’s a mixture of gold and other alloys. Do have a read up
White gold will fade over time or due to perfume spray, oxidation too. As for the diamonds, there are many grades, hard to tell from image posted.

A netizen shared how he was on a Gojek ride earlier this week when the driver insisted that he had to wear a mask inside the car under the law.
Here is what he said
I had an incident on Gojek today at 2pm, booked from Marina Bay to Bugis
The driver compelled me to wear a mask even though it’s not required. When I boarded he rolled down the windows and switched off the aircon making it very hot.
When I asked him to roll up the windows he said masks are required in enclosed spaces, so far I have not read any such legal requirement.
During the trip he also made racist remarks and provoked me to get off while he was on the expressway.
Netizens’ comments
Although law is regulated by the government, but if the driver just ask for ur cooperation to wear a bloody mask just put on and move on with life and sit back to enjoy the Aircon…that’s all,,what’s so hard and big deal to post it on social media..simply dun understand this type of passenger..
Riders have option to wear or not, but drivers also have the right to request rider to wear a mask. Its a 2 way traffic. Not happy just cancel. Simple right?
Indeed the driver can have the option to do so. There is no regulation that the driver cannot wind down the window if he felt he is at high risk.
What DPM Lawrence Wong said
Speaking at a press conference for the multi-ministry task force, DPM Wong said that masks will still have to be worn on public transport, as well as in indoor public transport facilities like MRT platforms and bus interchange boarding areas.
However, they will not be required at MRT and LRT stations, naturally ventilated bus interchanges and in the retail areas of bus interchanges, as well as airports.
MOH also added in a press release on Wednesday that masks will also be optional on taxis, school buses and private bus services.
Wong touched on this, saying that “The taxi driver can suggest (or) request” but there is “no basis of law for the taxi driver to say you have to, it’s optional.”
Mask wearing will continue to be required in residential care homes such as welfare and elderly homes, hospitals, healthcare facilities and ambulances.
Wearing of masks on flights, on the other hand, will depend on the rules and laws of the destination country, as well as the carrier.
Facebook user Lave Seah shared how she had wrongfully made a PayNow transfer of $1,000 into her friend’s bank account that had been closed, and after more than 1 and a half years, her issue has not been resolved.
Here is what she said
Terrible incident and issue not resolved till date!!
Wrongfully paynow $1000 to my friend’s closed account on 7 Feb 2021, call bank immeditely but wasn’t able to stop the transaction as from DBS to UOB. Was informed to call the UOB to retrieve the record and stop the transaction. We even attempt to contact the phone number owner and was informed by her that she wasn’t using this service. Ended we make a trip to UOB bank to check the account and transaction.
Make a police report on 8 march 2021. After having so much trouble, hassle and chaser, we was informed that the money is hold with UOB as the paynow tag to a closed account. And finally got a cheque from UOB on 25 Oct 2021 and we had deposit to DBS bank, but the cheque was bounced due to wrong submission of name (joint account). My friend went to DBS bank at TPY as DBS mentioned they has returned the cheque, but they send to wrong address. We was assure by DBS that they will request a replacement cheque from UOB and deposit into the DBS account, but this wasn’t fulfil after 1-2months.
We make a 2nd police report on 8 april 2022 with the same case and was refer to a new IO to handle. The IO informed us that he will check with the bank on the status and update us. The waiting game started again and we had been keep chasing till we get an update that bank disclosed it as confidential. The IO mentioned that we’re able to get back the money, but need to wait for his update before we submit to MAS.
Has been calling the IO for update, but no call back has been done. Until we leave a voicemail to inform that we’re posting to media, we received 4 called and hang private miss call. End up need to call Tanglin police hq and was informed that the IO us on 2month leave and his colleague handling attempt to call but no one pick up. (Wondering if they wanna trace the call in number? Totally no call received.) In the end, we was informed that the colleague will check with the IO and get back to us.
After up and down checking and ended up the IO whose on leave came back, they informed us tat the bank are processing for the refund. Bank detail has all submitted and was inform that payment will be credit in 14working days, which it should falls on the 8th of September. And one again, we have not received the refund and the waiting game start again. Has been calling the IO for update.
Can someone update us how long we need to wait to resolve this issue? It’s been more than 1.5years!!!!
********
Update on a lot ppl question:
1. Yes, we’re at fault for the wrong transfer. But we call the bank immediately and was told can’t revert.
2. We filled in the correct information, just tat it’s a joint account and we wasnt aware tat we need to fill it 2 name!
3. We are asking for update, not blaming the IO!
4. It’s a paynow transfer, but the account link to the paynow number has closed few years before the transfer. But UOB didn’t refund the amount.
And, would appreciate everyone not to guess or assume. Wateva suggestion, we have already done except go to MAS. So, we will proceed to email them.
Three men, aged between 32 and 47, were charged on 15 September 2022 for several counts of conspiracy to obstruct the course of justice under Section 204A read with Section 109 of the Penal Code 1871.
In October 2018, the Police received information that a Singapore-registered oil tanker, Marine Tanker (“MT”) Sea Tanker II, had allegedly engaged in ship-to-ship transfers of gasoil with North Korean-flagged vessels. Two men, aged 40 and 47, were cargo officers on the vessel MT Sea Tanker II, whilst the 32-year-old man was employed as an assistant marine superintendent at Sea Hub Tankers Pte Ltd, the registered owner of MT Sea Tanker II.
Police investigations revealed that the three men had allegedly conspired to falsify records in the ship documents of MT Sea Tanker II, specifically, the official logbook and oil record book part II, which contained information on MT Sea Tanker II’s movement and cargo activity during the material period. These falsified records were then provided to Singapore authorities who were investigating into the activities of MT Sea Tanker II.
Further Investigations revealed that prior to the vessel’s return to Singapore, the 32-year-old man and 40-year-old man allegedly conspired to dismantle and dispose of a computer processing unit (“CPU”) which was onboard MT Sea Tanker II, to prevent the Singapore authorities from obtaining information in the CPU relating to the vessel’s activities during the material period.
The offence of intentionally obstructing the course of justice under Section 204A of the Penal Code 1871 carries a punishment of an imprisonment term of up to seven years, a fine, or both.
The Police have zero tolerance towards any acts that intentionally obstruct the course of justice and will not hesitate to deal with such offenders firmly in accordance with the law.
PUBLIC AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT SINGAPORE POLICE FORCE 15 September 2022 @ 12:30 PM
In an island-wide anti-scam enforcement operation conducted on 13 and 14 September 2022, officers from the Police Intelligence Department and Commercial Affairs Department arrested four men and two women, aged between 20 and 51, for their suspected involvement in money laundering activities. Another two women, aged 33 and 37, are being investigated for their suspected involvement in money laundering activities.
In June 2022, the Police received information that criminal proceeds arising from investment scams amounting to more than $4.5 million, were credited into several bank accounts in Singapore.
Preliminary investigations indicated that a 37-year-old man, had allegedly placed online advertisements and acquired bank accounts with ATM cards and pre-registered prepaid SIM cards from unknown individuals, who were paid at least $800 for each bank account and $50 each for pre-registered prepaid SIM card. He is also believed to have withdrawn money (criminal proceeds) from the bank accounts and was established to be the reseller of the fraudulently obtained bank accounts with ATM cards and pre-registered prepaid SIM cards, to facilitate illicit activities.
Preliminary investigations also revealed that another two men, aged 38 and 39, had allegedly withdrawn money from the bank accounts and later converted the criminal proceeds into cryptocurrencies since January 2022. The two women, aged 20 and 51, are believed to have facilitated in the money laundering activities by withdrawing money from the bank accounts and later handing the criminal proceeds to the 37-year-old man. Another bank account holder, a 32-year-old man, had allegedly sold and relinquished his bank account and ATM card to the 37-year-old man in July 2022.
Several case exhibits such as cash amounting to more than $19,000, 16 mobile phones, more than 30 pre-registered prepaid SIM cards and 150 ATM cards were found and seized from the possession of the 37-year-old man, the 38-year-old man, the 39-year-old man and the 51-year-old woman.
The three men will be charged in court on 15 September 2022. The 37-year-old man will be charged with the offence of assisting another to retain benefits from criminal conduct under Section 51 of the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act 1992. The two men, aged 38 and 39, will be charged with the offence of possessing benefits from criminal conduct under Section 54 of the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act 1992. Those convicted shall be punished with a fine of up to $500,000 and/or a jail term not exceeding 10 years.
Investigations against the 32-year-old man and four women are ongoing.
The Police will not hesitate to take action against anyone involved in arrangements to allow his or her bank accounts to be used for illegal purposes such as the laundering of criminal proceeds. To avoid being an accomplice to crimes, members of the public should always reject requests by others to open and/or sell bank accounts, or receive money in their bank accounts, as they will be held accountable if these are linked to criminal activities.

I honestly sometimes look forward to my fiance being asleep when I get home so I can unwind in peace.
My fiance (M28) used to support both of us while I (F26) was finishing school so I was home often & literally waited for his arrival home because I missed him.
I’d bombard him as soon as he got inside & he would almost always brush me off like it was too much. I didn’t understand at the time how crucial that 1-2 hour is when you get home from a laborious job in the sun all day.
Well I have a new job now that keeps me on my feet much more than the last one. I’m actually physically tired when I get home & just want 30 minutes to gather my thoughts in silence.
My fiance now does what I used to do to him (not on purpose) & I absolutely see the frustration it can cause. Sometimes I just want to tell him to “shut up, I’ve been in the house 3 minutes??”
But I know he doesn’t mean any harm by it, were just bestfriends who love each other. Often now though i’m relieved when he’s already asleep & I can watch my crime shows & eat my snacks in peace.

This reminds me of when I was a kid and would think my mom was an a-hole in the morning. And then I grew up a bit, and started hating mornings too and realized that I too was an a-hole in the morning. And then I grew up even more and realized my mom was just an a-hole regardless of the time of the day
Right on, love my wife but sometimes I just really need some alone time.
If you want your marriage to work I’d highly recommend very open conversation. My wife and I talk openly about everything (been together 16 years) and she knows (because I’ve told her) when I get home I’d like to just do my own thing for 30 min… whether that’s being on my phone, on the toilet, playing with the dogs.. whatever it is. I know she’s the opposite of me and most days I get home an hour before she does so it works out!
My son is 3.5 moths old and never stops crying. We’ve done everything medically possible to comfort him. We’ve switched formulas. Nothing helps.
I want to bash my skull into the concrete floor every time I hear him cry. He rarely has moments where he smiles and giggles at me.
Being his mother is ruining my mental health. I’m already on meds, and it doesn’t help either. I’m at my breaking point.

Call in family support. You need a break. Ear plugs and nap time in a separate room. Sometimes just a few hours of sleep is a god send.
My son cried most of the time for the first 6 weeks of his life. He has a milk allergy. He became the chillest baby you could imagine once we sorted his milk out. But he was hospitalised twice before getting there. Also there were lots of other things suggested by doctors including surgery on his stomach before realising it was the milk. I also had problems with my first child but being a first time mum I was ignored and she isn’t quite as bad as her brother. I know you said you switched his milk but have you had allergy tests done for him?
You’re not a bad mom or bad parents. I just want you to know that. You’re dealing with an abnormal situation right now, and are frustrated and overwhelmed, but not bad at caring for your baby. If baby could learn some words or point to the problem, it’d be appreciated by all lol. Earplugs are allowed, babies can reach damaging decibels. If safe, try keeping him on his left side, gravity can help keep acid from backing up. Sometimes when I lay on my back, I’ll wake up coughing & choking from reflux. Another thought is swaddling or baby wearing, if it’s not being done. Perhaps he misses the closeness? Honestly it’s a guess. Could also try feeding less, more frequently, as long as nutrition is maintained. One final thought is has he been checked for a hernia? It happened to one of my relatives as a baby and they cried nonstop, as well. I’m sorry times are hard right now. I wish you had someone who could give you all time away from the baby. I’m sure dad & sister are exhausted as well. Is there a friend or 1 day daycare that could watch him?
Maybe gas. Lay him on the floor on his back and pick up his legs like he is sitting in a chair and move them in circles occasionally moving the knees up to his stomach.
I have been using grab card for quite a while I entered it into my comfort app.
So when u book a comfort ride it deducts that amount from grab card. Typically if it fails to book you get the refund automatically. So I don’t really check.
Recently on two separate days, demand for comfort was high. So first attempt timed out, successful on 2nd. No refund of first.
Today, booking two times, both times no go, timed out. Only 2nd was refunded.
So be careful. I am switching to a normal credit card for comfort app asap. Grab card dispute chargeback process is complex
Looks like it’s worst than I thought. It seems my records for today all missing. Especially yet another comfort booking that failed. Logically speaking it’s either cabcharge did not refund or some issue with grab as holder of wallets.
Netizen’s comments
I’m facing similar issues, CDG did not refund at all.. have emailed their feedback email but no response. Will try to request chargeback from Grab after the 12th day
