A netizen shared a video showing the same auntie choping seats at a getai, twiddling with a string and gesturing at another person off camera, to come and take a seat.

Recap

A fight broke out among a group of middle-aged people at an unspecified event purportedly at Macpherson, according to a netizen.

The short-haired auntie, who was wearing red, was seen in the video picking up a chair and throwing it at the other auntie’s face, who was sitting down on a seat.

The auntie, who was wearing black, then got up and picked up a chair, and swung it at her aggressor, as the two came to blows – the black shirt auntie was seen tussling with the red shirt auntie and hitting her on the face

Another man wearing a black shirt then jumped into the fray and socked the red-shirted auntie in the face multiple times.

Several onlookers then stepped in to break up the fight, as the red-shirt auntie was seen bleeding profusely on her face.

Arrested

Three people, including a 69-year-old man, a 65-year-old woman and another 71-year-old woman were reportedly arrested on the spot following the fracas.

The police are investigating the incident and the 71-year-old woman was conveyed to hospital.

Auntie’s side of the story

The short-haired auntie who was seen in a viral video throwing a chair at another woman before getting socked in the face repeatedly by another man, has since come forward with her side of the story.

The fight happened at a Getai at Lor Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple Association, located at 15 Arumugam Road, on 10 August.

The short-haired auntie told media outlets that she reserved a seat for her friend at the Getai, but the couple in the video then arrived and threw away a cup of coffee and bun that was left on the seat, before sitting down.

She added that she received 2 stitches on her face and is adamant that she has done nothing wrong.

However, several netizens who purportedly know her said that she regularly chopes seats when she’s not supposed to.

The Dota 2 world championship tournament, The International 11 (TI11) is set to be held in Singapore from 30 October to 30 October, and it will see the top 16 teams in the world competing in the competition.

Tickets for the single day of the Playoff rounds, which will be held at Suntec, are priced at $88; while the tickets for the Grand Finals at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, are priced at $498 for two days.

However, the tickets were apparently sold out within an hour of the tickets going live, presumably because of scalpers scooping up the tickets.

The scalpers then took to Carousell to sell their tickets, marking the prices up to almost 11 times the original price, with one scalper even selling it for $5,500.

I didn’t get tickets to TI.

Like many of you posting here, I couldn’t get tickets to TI. I woke up really early, opened up the ticketmaster website first thing and got into queue. Made myself some coffee while I waited. So damn excited. I was sure I’d be able to get them because I had heard good things about the queue system last time and how it was designed to be fair.

When its my turn, the page opens up and I see the first four days are already sold out. No problem, I’d be happy to get tickets just to the finals only. I click to pick my seat and just in that little time, those are sold out as well. I can’t believe it.

I was willing to put in the $850~ for all 6 days of the event. That is not a small amount of money for me. In fact, it’s almost equal to my one month’s salary. Add the cost of plane tickets and staying there for almost 2 weeks, that comes out to more than double of that. So even though it’s a lot, I had saved up because it would have been my first TI.

I’d been struggling financially for the last several years, so not like I ever had the chance to go to a TI in an EU country before. But now that TI is taking place in a SEA country, and I’m doing better money wise, I had the courage to dream. I had a dream, and it was crushed within minutes.

Sorry to sound so melodramatic, but this was a big deal to me. I’ve only travelled outside my country once before, and this would have been my first time travelling solo. Dota 2 is such a big part of my life, and going to TI is top of my bucket list.

Guess it’s staying on that list for a bit longer.

Facebook user Carolyn Cess, shared how she had ordered food from Piao Xiang Mala Hotpot, and found two maggots inside.

She then got in touch with FoodPanda and demanded a full refund, but all she got was a 90 cents refund to her PandaPay wallet, and a compensation voucher of $1 that is valid for 30 days.

The customer service agent the asked her if he should proceed with the refund and voucher, and told her that “this is the best thing I can provide you”.

Carolyn then replied “NOOO, OMG, what’s wrong.”

The infamous couple who escaped Singapore illegally and went into hiding in Johor Bahru was caught after escaping for 37 days.

The China-born Pi Jiapeng and Thai National Pansuk Shirivipa were smuggled into Malaysia after hiding in a lorry.

Betrayed

They originally planned to flee all the way north to Thailand, but According to Shin Min Daily News, it is believed that the two fell out with their Thai accomplices, which led them to stay in Johor Bahru.

It is believed that their accomplices who are in Thailand revealed their location to the authorities. The Thailand Police managed to trace the couple all the way to the budget hotel where the couple was staying, and then contacted the Singapore police.

The Singapore Police then informed the Malaysian police for assistance which lead to their arrest at the budget hotel.

It is unclear why they were betrayed but netizens speculate that it could be about the money.

Singaporean victim flew to Thailand to file a complaint against the couple

According to Bangkok Post, A victim who was dupped by the couple flew to Thailand and filed a complaint with Central Investigation Bureau regarding the scam.

The victim was accompanied by his lawyer in Thailand telling the Thai Police to take action against the couple.

A netizen shared how he was driving along Edgedale Plains when he overtook a BMW, and the BMW driver was apparently upset.

The BMW driver, the came out of his car to confront and film the camcar driver, before following the camcar in his car.

The camcar driver then drove all the way to the police station to ask for help, at which point the BMW driver then reported him for reckless driving.

The incident purportedly happened on 9 August at about 1.55pm, along Edgedale Plains.

Employer is ignoring my messages regarding my pay.

Hello everyone! I need some advice on what I should do or can do; the employer ignores my messages when I ask him when I would be paid.

For context, I am a teenager, and I found this job that pays decently (direct-hire, no contract, Mon-Fri). However, after working for 1 day (Friday), I got fired 2 days later (Sunday).

The termination was very sudden and without explanation, and it all seemed like they decided to fire me after I asked questions regarding my pay.

This was after I realized that they never even asked for my bank details, address & emergency contacts. So I decided to message them about it on Sunday morning, but they never responded.

However, another person messaged me at 10 pm saying, “We won’t be continuing any work schedule for you,” and when I asked if I did anything wrong, he just said, “No, just not continuing.”

When I asked him if I would get paid, he just told me to message the same guy. But he haven’t responded to my messages.

So what should I do now?

Edit: So I called MOM, and basically, they said there was nothing they could do as I did not sign any contract with the employer or have any written agreement, even though I have the text messages confirming that I was hired.

(For anyone reading this, if you are working part time and have no written agreement with your employer, you are NOT covered by the employment act. However you can try your luck to retrieve your salary by booking an appointment at the TADM website.)

Facebook user Stanlon Tan, shared how he paid $1,000 for aircon servicing with an aircon contractor that he got acquainted with ears ago.

However, the aircon contractor asked him for the full payment, saying that the supplier needs the full deposit, which Tan then paid.

The aircon contractor then allegedly always doesn’t show up for the scheduled servicing and when Tan asked for a refund, the aircon contractor would keep postponing it.

Tan said “now ask for refund also rubber band, push blame to supplier fault, blah / every day say tomorrow, don’t know is it last time I fail to study my maths properly, his “tomorrow = days = week = still going”

Not complaining, but just beware not to engage him for any aircon servicing.

Got acquainted with him when he was still with Gain City 6-7 years ago during our home new installation.

Recently, there’s been a recent influx of Delivery Pranks on us Food Delivery riders.

Since the start of January, I’ve been on the receiving end of 3 different prank orders around Sengkang, Punggol and Hougang- in which 2 of them came at a time when I had to cycle through heavy downpours during the first half of the month’s cold and rainy season.

Earlier today, I received my 3rd prank order and I had to wait for 30 minutes with 3/4 other Panda Riders at a corridor as Foodpanda’s absolutely garbage Customer Service has to sort things out. One panda rider was an amputee on his right leg on his PMA. This 3rd incident was my breaking point.

Prank orders are done when somebody provides a non-existent unit number and orders through cash.

So why is it an issue for us? One could take the food home and go. Well, first of all, for cash orders, we would have to pay the amount that we received back to Grab/Foodpanda through a digital transaction. So in this case, had we just left with the food without contacting CS to cancel the order, we would be paying for something that we don’t even want. For my unfortunate experience today, I was left with my hands clasped around a plastic bag filled with $75 worth of Unhalal food that I can’t eat.

Please la. Have some compassion. I had to spend an hour of my life going to a restaurant, waiting for food and delivering only to find out that some CB decided it’s funny to play with people’s livelihoods. I’m lucky enough to still be a student and just doing this food delivery thing as a part time job to supplement my student life, but when I see people like the aforementioned amputee having to go through great lengths and struggles to deliver food only to be greeted by this nonsense, I get mad.

Not only does this nonsense affect the riders, it definitely affects the restaurants as well because Panda/Grab won’t pay them for the meals. All because Panda/Grab receive nothing from the prank. They are the ones who suffer the most in this because of such unthoughtful and despicable ‘pranks’. Essentially, they make food for nothing.
