COMPANY FINED $5,000 FOR ILLEGALLY IMPORTING 250 KG OF VEGETABLES

0

According to the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), a company and it’s director was each fined $5,000 after illegally importing vegetables into Singapore.

Here is what SFA said:

Topstar Trading Pte Ltd, an importer of vegetables and processed food products, was fined $5000 by the Court today for illegally importing fresh vegetables for sale. Its Director, Tiong Lee Chian, was also fined $5000 for failing to prevent the offence from being committed.

On 23 March 2021, SFA officers detected approximately 250kg of undeclared and under-declared fresh vegetables in the consignments imported from Malaysia by the importer.

In Singapore, food imports must meet SFA’s requirements. Fruits and vegetables can only be imported by licensed importers, and every consignment must be declared and accompanied with a valid import permit. Illegally imported vegetables are of unknown sources and can pose a food safety risk (e.g. if unregulated or high level of pesticides are used).

Offenders who illegally import fresh fruits and vegetables shall be liable on conviction to a maximum fine of $10,000 and/or imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years.

GUYS WANTS GF TO SUCK KUKUBIRD BECAUSE HE “PUTS A ROOF OVER HER HEAD”

0

My boyfriend believes that I “owe” him favours in bed because he “puts a roof over my head.”

The title basically says it all. My (F28) bf (M27) has said to me several times that I have to blow him because he puts a roof over my head.”

I have lived in his house with him for the last 3 years, and I pay him rent each month. I buy all of our groceries, cook all of our meals and clean the house.

I go down on him every time we get intimate, and it’s never reciprocated in any sort of way. Our intimate life in bed feels very one sided and unfair from my perspective.

He has said that I owe him multiple times in the past few weeks and it has left me feeling pretty upset and angry.

I have also tried to talk to him many times about how I feel our activities in bed is one sided, however he will ignore me and completely stonewall me whenever he doesn’t like what I’m saying.

Netizens’ comments

Yikes. Even if you didn’t pay rent or buy anything you don’t owe anyone favors. That’s not how relationships work

The fact that you do pay rent makes it even worse

Tell him you will stop paying rent and he can pay for head, and tell him you’re quite expensive

MAID HIT 74 Y.O BEDRIDDEN WOMAN WITH DEMENTIA IN THE FACE, JAILED 4 WEEKS

0

41-year-old Sita Farihah, was sentenced to 4 weeks imprisonment on 26 July after pleading guilty to one count of voluntarily causing hurt to a vulnerable victim.

The maid had grown annoyed at taking care of a 74-year-old bedridden woman with dementia, and hit her on the face after using tissue paper to wipe her roughly.

The Indonesian maid was hired by the elderly victim’s 43-year-old Singaporean son, and they lived together in Lorong Ah Soo.

The man was in his room on 14 February earlier this year when he heard his mother shouting for his wife.

Only the man, his mother and the maid were around at the time.

The man then rushed outside and saw his mother sitting on a chair in the living room, with the maid feeding her.

He then checked on his mother and noticed that there was redness on her right cheek and lips, and he then asked her what happened.

The victim then told him that the maid had hit her, and he then retrieved CCTV footage placed in his living room, and the police were then called the following day.

It was later revealed after investigations, that before the victim had called for the man’s wife, the maid had been wiping her (the victim’s) hand roughly with a tissue paper.

The maid then threw the tissue at her, before climbing on her and wiping her face in a rough manner as well, before hitting her on the right side of her face.

The elderly woman then sought treatment at Sengkang General Hospital on 15 February and she was found with bruising on her right cheek.

BF LIMITS GF’S USE OF TV TO ‘SAVE ELECTRICITY”, BUT PLAYS GAME ON IT FOR HOURS

0

Dating and living together is really different

My boyfriend and I have decided to move in together. We met at work and clicked quickly perhaps because we’re both foreigners. We dated for 1 year now when he proposed to rent an apartment together instead of each renting a room.

Even though that means we’ll be paying  more rent, but the freedom and privacy is worth it.

I am earning 3.6k while him about 4.1k a month. The rent is about 1.8k, utility bills excluded.

I thought it would be fun but it turned out quite disastrous. I realized, wow, living together is magic, it can change a person totally till you couldn’t believe it’s the same guy you dated!

I am more a believer of rewarding myself and enjoying life. I believe in saving a portion (1/3) of your salary and the rest can be freely use (divided between expenses and entertainment). But he believes in saving every penny to the point I feel he is damn stingy.

He actually proposed to limit electricity usage, especially TV time. Fair enough. But it turned out he just plays Switch game on the TV while I am to limit my hours of TV. Everytime he finished his hours of gaming, and I switched out to cable TV mode, he would say things like “TV have been used for a long time already” … You keep using lei, not me! I didn’t even watch a single episode of my drama!

I told him about my unhappiness and he just says Ok ok, he will take note and play lesser but it’s always “awhile more” and “almost clear this stage already”. After I kept reminding him, he got angry and snapped at me for being naggy. I got tired also and just watch dramas on my phone.

When our heater was faulty (water gets hot/cold randomly), he expected the landlord to replace it for us but the contract states that we’re to pay for our replacement or repair for those amount less than a certain amount. And a heater won’t be that expensive. He got super reluctant to change. I said I will contact a plumber but he say he will handle. In the end is asking me to bathe in a certain way he believes the water would stay hot. After his “hack” failed, he started blaming me for bathing too long that’s why the heater spoil. In the end, I contacted a plumber to fix it despite him being unhappy about it.

The same thing happened to his iPhone 7. His phone has been giving him lots of problems for quite a while now. I have asked him to change phone but he always say wait for the latest one to be release. Phone where for latest one? Only have next one. He always get very fed up with his phone because it might hang or crash when he is typing messages (sometimes for work). He keeps hinting me that his phone is down. No way I am going to get him one.

I really never expect him to be so stingy lei. Though We always go on dutch as I never believe in guy paying for everything, But He at least still will buy me gifts and treat me once in a while. And he is quite generous with his friends and my friends when we go out.

Now, he is like, must wait till sales/discount then buy things. Can you imagine we have only one roll of toilet paper left and he still wants to wait see if next week got festive promotion.

I think I need someone to tell me if this is the guy I dated or he is just another person in his skin?

DRUNK MAN K.O ON THE ROAD @ CLARKE QUAY, PEOPLE THOUGHT HE’S DEAD

A netizen shared how he saw a man lying down motionless on the side of the road along Clarke Quay, with many passers-by passing by but ignoring him.

The netizen then went over to softly kick him but elicited no response, he said “dunno he die already or what.”

The netizen then called the police and waited for the authorities to come, while waiting beside the drunken man so that no cars will run him over.

ACTIVIST CONVICTED AFTER HOLDING A SIGN OUTSIDE ICA – “PLEASE BAN ALL FLIGHTS FROM INDIA”

Singaporean activist Goh Keow Wah, or as he’s better known as Gilbert God, was convicted of an offence under the Public Order Act and one count of refusing to sign a statement that he had given to the police.

The 60-year-old had held a public assembly to publicise a cause without a permit outside the ICA building on 1 May last year, where he held a placard outside the building that reads:

“Please ban all flights from India, we are not racist, just being cautious.”

He was protesting a week after Singapore had banned all long term and short term visitors who had been in India in the past 14 days from entering or transiting in Singapore.

There was a surge in Covid-19 cases in India at the time.

He had also refused to sign a statement that was recorded by a police officer at Bedok Police Division on 11 May last year.

The prosecutors said that his Facebook posts were sensationalist and provocative, and showed that he intended to stir up anti-foreigner sentiment by his actions.

They also cited Goh’s Facebook post on 22 May last year with the caption “stop Singaporean genocide, close the border,” which was pasted over a photo of his protest.

Goh is set to be sentenced on 19 August.
