CYCLIST CRASHED HIS BICYCLE & FELL ONTO 2 BLACK SPITTING COBRAS INSIDE A NET

A cyclist shared an incident that happened to him while he was cycling.

He wrote that he was cycling when his bike suddenly got caught on some netting on the ground.

He then crashed and fell onto a pair of black spitting cobras that were tangled inside the net.

One of the snakes was in an attack position while the other one was dead.

Here is the story:

“I just want to share this for the safety of everyone walking/cycling in forests and parks. Please by careful and try to wear proper attire.

I caught my bike on some ground netting, and ended up crashing. My bike fell onto a pair of black spitting cobras, and was tangled heavily with the snakes and the netting. One was in a attack position while the other one died immediately (crushed under the tyre). I called acres, who advised me to stay away and watch if or where the snakes moved to. (Do not try to touch or move any snake you are not sure is dead)

A short while later, the other snake who originally tried to attack was motionless, and I noticed it was caught in the netting and chain. It later died. Luckily I was not bitten, and was not too badly injured.I would also like to thank the 2 passers by who help me untangle my bike, and use sticks to move the netting away.

Please do not attempt to move or harm a living black cobra, as it is extremely venomous. It can bite (fatally), or spray venom from over 2m away.Sharing to inform others of what to do in a snake encounter etc. Very scary experience”
