I never used to believe in superstitions, but a few weeks ago, I decided to give it a shot.

I had heard that praying to my ancestors at a temple could bring me luck, so I decided to do just that and try my luck at the upcoming $12 million Toto lottery.

The temple was about 40 mins away from my home, so I got up early one Saturday morning and made the journey. When I arrived, I was surprised by how busy it was.

There were people of all ages, from children to the elderly, all making their way to the temple to pray. It’s the famous fortune god temple.

The atmosphere was calming and I could feel a sense of peace in the air. I made my way towards the main shrine, where I was told I should present my offering. I had brought some incense sticks, fruits, and a few coins, which I placed at the front of the shrine.

After that, I joined the crowd of people who had gathered to pray. I held my hands together and began chanting mantras. I closed my eyes and silently asked my ancestors to grant me luck in the upcoming lottery. I asked them to grant me the luck and fortune to win the $12 million prize.

Once the chanting was done, I thanked my ancestors for listening to my prayers. I then made my way back home, feeling more positive and hopeful than ever before.

The next day, I bought my ticket for the lottery. I was feeling confident that I was going to win, and when the results were announced, I was stunned to find out that I had won, but only $10!

I was overjoyed and thanked my ancestors for granting me the luck and fortune to win the lottery. I was also very grateful to the temple for providing me with the opportunity to pray and make my offering.

Since then, I have been a believer in superstitions and the power of prayer. I know that if I ever find myself in a difficult situation again, I will make sure to go to the temple and pray to my ancestors. It may sound crazy, but I firmly believe that it works.

I need to hang my head in shame for being an unthinking husband.

My wife and I were chatting about a friend of hers who apparently is getting a “mommy makeover” basically it’s a cosmetic surgery package for after you have a kid where they do lipo, tummy tuck, ‘neh neh’ augmentation, etc.

As my wife puts it, it is basically a cleanup of all the damage pregnancy does to your body. Her friend is apparently also getting larger implants done as part of this procedure to which I quote “go up a few sizes”.

My wife knows I am a ‘neh neh’ guy (I am), I really enjoy hers (I do) and also her ‘neh neh’ got really big during pregnancy (they do, we’re talking from B cups to solid DD).

So she then goes “maybe I should get a ‘neh neh’ job? as well”

Which I replied, “well you can never have too much of a good thing”. And I immediately regretted saying anything other than “no need you’re hot and attractive as it is”.

This of course sent her down the line where she said “oh really? well what else would you change about me?”

It was a trap, just like me falling into a hole and unable to get out.

A Grab Driver recently posted on Facebook on eight things he wishes people will know, especially if they have friends who are also working as Private Hire Drivers (PHV).

Here are the eight things

1. Your friend does not have to be your Grab driver or even anyone’s driver
   
   He hopes that people will not make their friends send them anywhere for free because their time and the money they spend on petrol is definitely not free.
   
2. Don’t bother booking your friend even if you have the intention to pay them
   
   This is because it is not worth the time and petrol for them to travel down to your location just to earn the Grab fare.
   
3. Your friend sometimes after fetching you will also paiseh to take the Grab fare from you
   
   Its like they go out of the way to fetch you, putting in extra time but not get paid (just like doing free OT).
   
4. They already spend so much time on the roads
   
   As a Grab driver, your friend already spends a lot of times on the road and sometimes they just want to go back home faster to relax and use their phone.
   
5. You should not ask your friend for ‘friendship’ price or discounts
   
   As simple as the heading is, please do not ask for all these, as if their petrol got a lot of discount. If you want to support your friend, pay them the full Grab fare.
   
6. If you and your friend not close then don’t ask them fetch
   
   Sometimes two people that are not close but still sort of know each other be alone together is quite weird.
   
7. Let your driver friend know in advance should you guys want to meet up
   
   Meeting up with you means lesser time for them to drive Grab, so letting them know in advance allows them time to plan ahead to drive and earn money to make up for this lost time.
   
8. Doesn’t mean your friend got car means he got time run your errands or pick up people
   
   Driving Grab is also a job where if you don’t have discipline, you cannot earn. When your friend is working it is just the same as you in your office job.

I don’t speak for all drivers. I only speak for myself.

1 thing for sure is that drivers need to be disciplined and have good time management in order to make good money.

You just gotta put in the hours.

Drivers who complain that they cannot make money is because they are distracted by everyone’s requests and might feel obligated to them.

Sometimes your driver friend is chasing their incentives and every minute and hour counts.

Unless I want to spend more time with you or we are very close, I won’t give you a free ride or even if it’s paid, I’d rather pick a stranger.

Therefore, please leave me alone. I have enough jobs and driving is too tiring.

I also kinda feel awkward collecting money from people I know.

My first experience at Geylang was one I will never forget.

I was still a V and I was excited to experience it for the very first time.

After having a few beers with my friend nearby, it was time for us to go into one of the houses in the lorongs for me to lose my V card.

I was greeted by an OKT and asked to look inside the houses to see if any of the working girls were up to my liking and after choosing the ‘angel’ who would take my V card away, I was led to the room by her.

She asked me if I wanted another go but if I wanted another go, I would have to pay her extra again as it was part of their rules.

Feeling embarrassed, I quickly got dressed and left the room, and even the OKT was shocked that I came out so fast.

I headed out to wait for my friend feeling disappointed.

I had gone to Geylang to lose my V card, but all I got was a quick finish and a feeling of embarrassment.

I didn’t dare to tell my friend about this when he came out at the half an hour mark for fear that he would announce it to the whole world.

How to avoid pushy insurance agents?

Got a call from an insurance agent wanting to sell some investment scheme, and somehow got suckered into agreeing to a call with her.

Later decided to cancel on her, but she proceeded to guilt trip me by saying she had other stuff she could’ve been doing (yea, me too) and keeps asking to reschedule.

My (F25) boyfriend (31M) got upset with me last night over not getting intimate with him in bed after an argument

Sorry if this is a little disorganized, trying to add the important details without going over the top.

Let me preface this by saying- we both have extremely high libidos. We average get nasty with each other once a day depending on our schedules, sometimes 2-3x a day on weekends. He’s an amazing boyfriend and outside of this we don’t really have issues.

We’ve been together for almost two years. We went through a phase last year of lower frequency due to life stress, particularly on my end, but I’d still say we averaged every other day. This ended in him throwing what I refer to as “tantrums”, where he’d get frustrated to the point of leaving me in bed alone to go sleep on the couch. He’d clearly state he’s not mad “at” me but more-so frustrated to where he can’t be in bed with me. I made it extremely clear after the first 2-3 times that this behavior is unacceptable and I refuse to be guilt tripped into having intercourse with him. He apologized and all was fine… up until last night.

Our schedules have been clashing recently; I work in the medical field and need to be up at 6am. He’s in a contract position for a few weeks and currently gets home anywhere from 7pm-midnight. This has, of course, reduced the frequency of spending time together, along with doing it on the bed.

The last few nights he’s been getting home at 10-11pm. I’m in bed at that point; Sunday night we still got intimate and we went to sleep right after. Monday was a late night so we didn’t get the chance to spend time together.

He got home on the earlier side last night, around 9pm. Within minutes of us getting into bed together, he started a discussion, which turned into an argument and ultimately lasted about 3 hours, or until ~1am. Mind you, I need to be up at 6am for work. After the argument was resolved, he offered to help me “relax” so I could sleep. I declined and reminded him about my early morning and that I was still worked up and drained over our argument. Then I could tell he started getting frustrated; heavy breathing, sighing, blah blah blah. I asked what was wrong and he said how he’s frustrated and we haven’t been intimate together since Sunday. This then spiraled into how I don’t desire him or must not want him as badly as he wants me.

I’m sitting there absolutely dumbfounded. I asked him why he even offered to get me off if his plan was to make love anyway? He didn’t really have an answer. I feel like his cuddles and apologies after the argument were just to try and get laid. I’m also confused on how his contract position is the reason we don’t see each other as much, yet I’m supposed to sacrifice my sleep schedule while having a job that requires me to make decisions regarding other people’s lives?

I’m not even really sure what the question here is.. I understand we both have high libidos and he has needs. I just feel like it’s extremely manipulative. I’d never ask him to do it with me if he wasn’t in the mood or needed to be up early. We’ve also had the discussion last year about how this behavior is unacceptable.

He’s still pissy today saying how awkward things are now and his needs aren’t being met.
