EMPLOYER LIST HIGH SALARY TO GET JOB SEEKERS, ROTI-PRATA DURING INTERVIEW
I was at a job interview recently, and while the interview started pretty normal, things got messy after I got asked about my salary expectations.
I did some research beforehand but couldn’t find any info, so I just quoted my desired range which I thought was reasonable (4 to 6k for base), and explained why. Immediately, the whole conversation changed and they were really paggro whether I really had passion for the job, even sharing examples of how their current trainees doing traineeships were willing to make do with much less.
I then tried to turn the question around and ask what they had in mind, or if they could share more details around their compensation structure, but they refused to disclose it, just continuing that msg of passion > pay.
Personally, the pay is not the issue here, but the bigger issue is what appears to be very unprofessional behaviour. It would be fair if we have different expectations on pay, I’m all for negotiation and seeing where things go.
I’ve spoken to other employers, and even in times where we don’t align on pay expectations, we always kept things professional with none of this paggro behaviour, or using passion and the traineeship programme as a reason to justify paying less.
STEVE FROM BLUE’S CLUES RETURNS 20 YEARS LATER, TELLS US HE’S PROUD OF US
Steve Burns, the first ever host of the popular kids show Blue’s Clues, returned 19 years later on the anniversary of the show.
He explained why he packed up his bags 19 years ago in 2002, bidding farewell to an entire generation of children (me included) and said goodbye to Blue (the blue dog) and hopped onto a 2D school bus.
Nick Jr posted a video of Steve on their Twitter account, with Steve asking viewers: “Hi, you got a second?”
He then asked if we remembered running around and hanging out with Blue, finding clues.
And then one day he was like “guess what? Big news, I’m leaving.”
And we didn’t see each other for a really long time.
He said that he kinda got up and went to college, which was really challenging for him by the way but it was great and he managed to do all the things that he wanted to do.
He then pointed to the viewer: “And then look at you! Look at all you have done! and all you have accomplished ion all that time.
“We started out with clues and now it’s student loans and jobs and families; and some of it has been kind of hard, you know?”
He added that he really couldn’t have done any of the things that he has done without (your) help.
He further added that after all these years, he never forgot (you) ever.

WOMAN REGRETS SHOTGUN MARRIAGE, HUSBAND ENDS UP CHEATING
I don’t know how to type out my whole story here. I just need an outlet to ‘let out’ whatever in me because I am really at the edge of breaking down. Please pardon me for all the grammatical errors. Mine is a shotgun marriage.
Before we married, I didn’t really love him as we both were always fighting and quarrelling due to his insecurities and all. His characters are totally the opposite of what I like for a boyfriend. I admitted that I was with him because I want to use him to get out of the memories of my ex.
Not too long, we got married because he promised me that he will change away his bad habits and going to be a good father to our baby. After married, I really put in all my efforts to be a good mother and a wife. So many times, this man belittled me, I endured.
Never help me out with anything, I endured. He even had an affair behind my back.
My heart is so badly wounded by him yet I still chose to stay on because of our daughter. After being a sahm for so many years, I want to go out and work but I am 43 this year. So many years away from the work field who will still want to hire me? I have no saving, not much work experience.
What can I do? I have no extra help to look after my daughter who is P4 this year. Told him to enrol her in her school student care, he said he has no extra money for that. I want to leave this unhappy marriage. It is killing me every day.
RECORD 450 LOCAL COVID CASES IN SPORE, 62 Y.O MAN 57TH COVID DEATH
457 cases were reported in total in Singapore on Sep 9.
This is more than double of what was reported on Sep 2 when there were 191 cases.
108 locally transmitted cases are seniors above the age of 60.
A 62 y.o unvaccinated man has also sucuumbed to the virus bring the death toll to 57.
He first tested positive on 21 Jul when he was warded a day before for an unrelated medical condition.
The man also had a history of cancer and bronchiectasis.
The ministry did not provide details of the linked and unlinked cases.

A netizen shared with us today on how some customers who order deliveries are stuck up and think that because they are paying customers they are king.
Here is the story
“I have been doing delivery for a few years and have met lots of people in my line of work.
While most are nice, there are still quite a number of a*sholes who think that just because they pay for delivery, they are royalty.
Just two days ago, I went all the way down to Pioneer to deliver a heavy parcel to this student.
I followed the procedures and messaged and called her while I was leaving my warehouse but she did not respond or pick up my calls (five times in total).
I continued calling her when I was outside her doorstep and she still did not pick up (she opted for personal delivery so I either had to pass it to her or bring it back to my warehouse).
After trying for 10 minutes, I left and cancelled her delivery order as I still had quite a number of locations to go to.
10 seconds after I cancelled, she call me back and scolded me for cancelling and demanded me to in a rude manner to bring it back to her claiming that she paid for the delivery and I ought to wait till she responded to me (she was in the middle of a zoom class).
I refused her and told her that I have tried from the time I left the warehouse till I reached her place and the least she could do was to drop me a message to let me know her situation.
I also told her that I am not her slave and she is not the only one who has ordered delivery.
She threatened to complain to my company and to make me viral on social media but I told her to be my guest as I have all the evidence and records to use it against her if she tries.
The moment she heard these, she relented and begged me to come back as she really needed her stuff but I decided to reject her to teach her a lesson.
Thankfully for me, my company backed me up.”

MAN ON MAN MOLEST CASE AT WOODLANDS CAUSEWAY POINT, KKJ GOT GRABBED
37-year-old Muhamad Ali Anafiah Jumadi pleaded guilty in court after he touch the “bird” of a man who is 23-years-old. The victim who is 14 years old younger could not be named as a gag order has been issued to protect him.
The incident happened back on 17 April 2020, The victim who was using the man’s washroom at the basement of Woodlands Causeway Point encountered Ali. Ali grabbed the “Ku Ku Jiao” of the victim and hold it for a while before releasing it.
The victim panicked and shouted while pushing Ali away.
The victim eventually sought help from the mall’s security and the Police were notified.
Ali was jailed for 5 months without any rotan punishment.
THAILAND USES ARMPIT SWEAT TO TEST FOR COVID-19 WITH NEW DEVICE
Thai researchers are currently into developing a new mobile test kit which uses armpit sweat to test for Covid-19 infection.
They have started testing the kit on shopkeepers at a Bangkok food market.
A researcher has also said that people with Covid-19 infection discrete sweat with certain chemicals when he went through the samples.
The researcher also said that the test is 95% accurate and hopes that the test kit will be successful and able to roll out as an alternative that is more affordable as compared to the more expensive swab tests that requires lab processing.
Test process
A cotton swab is first placed under the arm for 15 minutes, and the swab is then put into a glass vial and sterilised with UV rays.
An appropriate amount of the sample is drawn using a suction hose and it is pressurised into an analyser to check the results.
The amount of time taken for sample collection is 15 minutes and results will be out in 30 seconds.
Vendors that tried the test kit praised its efficiency and said that it is more pleasant than the current polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing where the nostrils are swabbed instead.
The test kit is still under development as of today.
