WOMAN FOUND OUT FIANCE AND HIS FAMILY ARE SECRETLY PLANNING TO GET HER PREGNANT

0

Found out fiancé and his fam are planning to get me pregnant

Admin pls don’t filter this, I don’t have anyone to turn to, not even my parents. Trying to keep this short, am in my mid 20s, fiancé in his mid 30s. I enjoy being with him alot. We’ve been tgt for long and l made it clear from the start that I only wanted a child at 30, which he agreed to. Why at such a late age is because I wanted to continue studying after Uni.

At present, I’ve gotten my masters and am very contented with my job. Not long after I graduated, fiancé proposed and I noticed some changes. The topic of kids started becoming more frequent.

From “see how cute xx’s babies are” to “what will u do if u suddenly got pregnant? You won’t abort the baby right?” Whenever his nephew and niece visited, his parents started joking that I should pop out a playmate for them soon.

A few weeks ago, fiancé drove out to get dinner while I stayed in his room to finish a report on his computer. It’s my fault, I opened his desktop WhatsApp out of curiosity, just wanting to see who he was texting. I totally take the blame at this part.

Everything seemed fine until I saw my name mentioned by his dad. I clicked the convo, and it was them exchanging links on how to get a woman pregnant inconspicuously. His dad wrote that he’d done something similar with his mom and she never regretted having more kids than she originally intended so “(my name) will be thankful next time”

I tried to minimise interaction with his fam after that, but still kept things usual. They’ve treated me with a lot of love and kindness, even offering to buy a condo for us when we got engaged. When I brought this issue up with my mom, she echoed the same sentiments that I should have a child as early as possible.

She didn’t think there was much to it since fiancé and his fam are generous and well to do, so I’d have a comfortable life. When I talked to my dad, he didn’t support their actions but also advised me it was “dangerous to wait too long”.

Right now I’m extremely wary when sleeping with fiancé, which he has been requesting more of, in case he tries to pull anything funny. Have hinted and reminded him that I’d like another 4/5 years in the corporate world before having a child, but he brushes it off, jokingly saying that he’s more than ready to be a dad and take care of us, and his family also want to help raise our kids.

I’m not sure how to feel about this situation. I’m furious that no one is taking me seriously or respects my wishes. But I’m also scared to appear demanding and overreacting, with how people are downplaying the issue. I definitely don’t want to lose my fiancé because I still love him.

This issue aside, I’ve always viewed him as my ideal partner in life, from looks, personality, charm and intelligence. It’s just that because of our age difference, while he has scaled the corporate ladder and feels comfortable settling down, I’m only just starting out.

I wish I could go back in time to stop myself from going through his messages. Am I being selfish for wanting more time before having a child?

S’PORE COMPANY REFUSE TO ACCEPT WORKER’S RESIGNATION, SAYS “IT’S ONLY 2 YEARS”

company refuses to acknowledge my resignation

hi guys, i need some advice regarding some work issues im facing. im currently interning in a singapore-based mnc and they continually refuse to process my resignation. what should i do?

context: i have been in this role for a little over a year, and i currently see no point in staying. at the start of the orientation, they promised us that we would have a good, meaningful experience and learn a lot during our time here.

however, when orientation about the job actually begun, i saw what a lie that was. the direct superiors of the interns were power-hungry and aimed to take advantage of us, knowing that we were new.

they overloaded us with tasks throughout the day and gaslighted us when we made the smallest mistakes, even when they were the ones at fault.

i switched departments and it wasnt any much of a difference. there was constant office politics, with people wanting to outdo each other no matter the cost to get a promotion.

my superior even made us come in on saturdays to ‘do what we were supposed to do’ and meet his kpis. there wasnt any proper handover procedures in place, and we had to learn things from scratch as the employees who were leaving refused to contact the company again.

as our department is facing manpower issues, we sometimes have to stay awake throughout the night for a few nights a week as well to do our tasks. to make things worse, the company is facing financial issues and isnt looking to increase our salaries, which is already below market pay.

as im not learning much in this role anyway, and this industry doesnt align with my degree prospects, im looking to resign.

however, my superior and managing director of the division constantly refuses to acknowledge my resignation, saying im required to continue my internship ‘by law’ and ‘its only two years’.

ive talked to my MP before, but it doesnt help that my MP has connections with the company and was once managing director of another sister company, refusing to help out with my problem.

any advice on what i should do?

Netizens’ comments

  • What law they talking about? You are not their slave. Did you accept anything for a 2 year bond? Take your employment contract and complain to MoM.
In your email comms to that MP, cc his boss, our PM Lee.  then you would see how fast his attitude turns
  • Wah Lao…. What kind of problem is this? Just send in official resignation, they accept or not it’s fine, just go on leave. See if they want to continue paying you or not.
  • Just so you know, it’s an offence for them to reject your resignation under the Employment Act

He said that the coi boxes don’t automatically count the money that the commuters put inside when they make cash payment.

He then showed a clip of his bus fare system interface, pointing out the different buttons on it and the examples of fares that range from adult, to elderl to students.

The bus captain then shows the yellow coin box and explains that there is no fancy technology that automatically counts the coins.

He then drops some money into the coin box, as the money then falls into the see-through panel at the bottom, and he said that it is easier for him if the customer pays with notes so that he doesn’t have to count the coins one by one.

MAN WANTS TO FIND A GIRL TO “MARRY ON PAPER” IN ORDER TO BUY A BTO HDB FLAT

0

Hi 27M here, just want to ask is it possible to find a girl to marry on paper in order to buy a bto, then each of us pay 50% of the bto, with no intimate r/s involved,

basically me or the girl can bring any guy/girl home and the other party will not care as we are not in a real r/s, just being together on paper to buy a bto, then when the MOP is up we will sell the flat and split the proceeds 50-50, and then divorce.

Would this be legal? Would it be realistic to be able to find a girl who be willing to hop into this ‘investment’ plan as well?

As I cant stand living with my family and want to move out asap but dont qualify for bto as a single.

Netizens’ comments

  • This is called a scam marriage.
  • By asking it outright, it’s not legal already. Pls lah instead of such an elaborated plan that takes years to materialise with trust issues etc, and then u still need to buy another flat later after selling , just go rent, buy small condo or find a real gf and marry her lah. So many simpler options wanan go for the most complicated one
  • You know there’s something call RENT righ? Otherwise just wait a few more years you can buy yourself as a SINGLE man la, why complicate things? You buy bto now also need to wait what.
  • Just rent la knn what kinda stupid plan you trying to come up with when the solution is so simple
  • The maximum penalty for the marriage of convenience offence is a fine of up to $10,000 and/or jail time of up to 10 years.
  • Alamak u didnt serve NS?! You can do whatever you want. Just dun get caught nia! Conform you one blur sotong during NS right?

A fight broke out among a group of middle-aged people at an unspecified event purportedly at Macpherson, according to a netizen.

The short-haired auntie, who was wearing red, was seen in the video picking up a chair and throwing it at the other auntie’s face, who was sitting down on a seat.

The auntie, who was wearing black, then got up and picked up a chair, and swung it at her aggressor, as the two came to blows – the black shirt auntie was seen tussling with the red shirt auntie and hitting her on the face

Another man wearing a black shirt then jumped into the fray and socked the red-shirted auntie in the face multiple times.

Several onlookers then stepped in to break up the fight, as the red-shirt auntie was seen bleeding profusely on her face.

Arrested

Three people, including a 69-year-old man, a 65-year-old woman and another 71-year-old woman were reportedly arrested on the spot following the fracas.

The police are investigating the incident and the 71-year-old woman was conveyed to hospital.

Auntie’s side of the story

The fight happened at a Getai at Lor Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple Association, located at 15 Arumugam Road, on 10 August.

The short-haired auntie told media outlets that she reserved a seat for her friend at the Getai, but the couple in the video then arrived and threw away a cup of coffee and bun that was left on the seat, before sitting down.

However, several netizens who purportedly know her said that she regularly chopes seats when she’s not supposed to.

SCALPERS SELLING SOLD-OUT DOTA 2 TICKETS AT 11X ORIGINAL PRICE, UP TO $5.5K

The Dota 2 world championship tournament, The International 11 (TI11) is set to be held in Singapore from 30 October to 30 October, and it will see the top 16 teams in the world competing in the competition.

Tickets for the single day of the Playoff rounds, which will be held at Suntec, are priced at $88; while the tickets for the Grand Finals at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, are priced at $498 for two days.

However, the tickets were apparently sold out within an hour of the tickets going live, presumably because of scalpers scooping up the tickets.

The scalpers then took to Carousell to sell their tickets, marking the prices up to almost 11 times the original price, with one scalper even selling it for $5,500.

Netizens’ response to scalpers

I didn’t get tickets to TI.

Like many of you posting here, I couldn’t get tickets to TI. I woke up really early, opened up the ticketmaster website first thing and got into queue. Made myself some coffee while I waited. So damn excited. I was sure I’d be able to get them because I had heard good things about the queue system last time and how it was designed to be fair.

When its my turn, the page opens up and I see the first four days are already sold out. No problem, I’d be happy to get tickets just to the finals only. I click to pick my seat and just in that little time, those are sold out as well. I can’t believe it.

I was willing to put in the $850~ for all 6 days of the event. That is not a small amount of money for me. In fact, it’s almost equal to my one month’s salary. Add the cost of plane tickets and staying there for almost 2 weeks, that comes out to more than double of that. So even though it’s a lot, I had saved up because it would have been my first TI.

I’d been struggling financially for the last several years, so not like I ever had the chance to go to a TI in an EU country before. But now that TI is taking place in a SEA country, and I’m doing better money wise, I had the courage to dream. I had a dream, and it was crushed within minutes.

Sorry to sound so melodramatic, but this was a big deal to me. I’ve only travelled outside my country once before, and this would have been my first time travelling solo. Dota 2 is such a big part of my life, and going to TI is top of my bucket list.

Guess it’s staying on that list for a bit longer.

i decided to ignore him and turn left instead. he came out of his vehicle and shouted at me in hokkien. i continued to ignore him shouting like a madman and drove off to the multi-story carpark to de-escalate the situation.

however, when i exited the carpark, i realised he had camped outside to wait for me in order to continue chasing me.

he chased me all the way to punggol npc, where he suddenly became the good person who wanted to report my reckless driving.”

Netizens’ comments

  • High speed overtaking in merging lane. Inconsiderate cam driver playing innocent victim. Send the before video to traffic police to let them decide. There is only one truth. Certainly you are not telling the truth.
  • Can you show us the earlier video that how did you irritate him so as he was so upset on you?
  • Thank you for a nice censored. The most important part, sped and cut into me at merging lane.
  • clever editing. why never include the footage before the altercation?
  • Obvious the cam car fault. merging Lane still speedup and cut from behind. Dangerous driving. When merging lane always give way to car infront. Good evidence for police to investigate on cam car

IKEA Xuhui store in Shanghai suddenly closed the entrance and exit yesterday evening.

Chinese social media reported that the IKEA store in Xuhui District in central Shanghai broadcasted yesterday evening that it has received a request from the authorities to lock down the store, and a large number of customers pushed the guards who were blocking the exit.

Another clip shows that when the store guards worked together to close an iron door, more and more people were pushing on the other side of the door, and people screamed from time to time.

Several people in the guard area could not resist the force which caused the iron door to open. The crowd kept pouring out, and the guards who were overwhelmed almost fell.

Finally, after a wave of people swarmed out, the iron gate was closed once again by the guards from the outside.
