A man shared his frustrations online about paying for a credit card.

Here is his story:

Does anyone know how to request for annual fee waiver on credit card which has already been CANCELLED?I had a POSB cc which was never used in the last year, $0 spending on it.

Annual fee come in on that card, I applied for waiver and also requested to cancel it therafter citing reason being that there is annual fee and I don’t use it anyway (I have another older active POSB card I use often and pay up on time anyway)

Posb cancelled the card alright, but DID NOT WAIVE THE FEES. Like why is POSB eating money when they have cancelled the card? POSB gets $200+ just because a customer holds onto this plastic card but never once utilised it?

I get that it’s like “service fee” and it was my choice not to use it etc, but I’d been using the other active POSB card for the longest time ever, 15 yrs or more. POSB used to be very humane and approved such annual fee waivers quite readily (is not late payment fee or finance fee.. never owed the bank any money).

Nowadays economy is bad until POSB has to cheat us of our hard-earned money in form of annual fee? Some more it’s soooo hard to reach any posb agents due to the top used reason “covid”. I guess covid spoilt all electronic communication devices in posb such that customer service team cannot work from home too?Anyone experienced similar case and could appeal for annual fee waiver again? It’s $200+ not $20+, quite a big sum for a small fry worker like me. It’s like 2 weeks worth of groceries/ half a month of subsidised childcare fees

I met this girl in a club and started dating her. We cohabit for a few years in my parent’s house. Then one day she started asking about marriage and also started arranging for BTO matters. She even plan on what job to find after she retire as a stewardess assumingly she got pregnant. I did not want to marry her due to her special background.

Before I met her, she works in the club and let any guy took advantage of her. She told me she had 3 abortion before so she is always feeling tired and weak.

She’s dirty and doesn’t cherish herself working in this kind of places until when we dated then she switch job. I am unable to overcome the barrier that she was being USED by many guys. I wonder how come girls like her can even think that they can find decent husband and happily married? Isn’t it naive? She likes giving her hard earn money to her mother which I did not approve.

Her mom knew she was working in club and did not object at all, since she was making money to support her. What kind of parents is this?!

In fact I’ve no respect for her mother. How can she witness her daughter earning fast money and still spending her money happily. When she finally got the BTO flat she wanted and in high floor, she told me to put in deposit together. But I didn’t want the flat, the BTO is what she wanted. She should put the deposit since she is the one that wanted a BTO.

She was so upset and left me. What right does she even have to be angry and leave me when I picked her up from her bad situation and told her to find better job. Her family couldn’t even be bothered. What I wanted was to live with her without marriage or children. But our relationship went downhill when she became naive.

What do you think I should do? Should I ask for my money spend on her back?

Closure of Chinatown Complex and Community Surveillance Testing for Visitors

MOH is investigating cases of COVID-19 infection amongst individuals who work in Chinatown Complex (335 Smith Street).

A total of 66 cases are currently linked to the cluster. Of these, 63 work at Chinatown Complex, comprising 58 stallholders and stall assistants, 4 cleaners and 1 Safe Distancing Ambassador working at the Complex. The remaining 3 are household contacts of cases. To break any potential chain of transmission and enable deep cleaning of the premises,

Chinatown Complex will be closed to all members of the public from 1500 hours, 12 September to 2359 hours, 15 September 2021.

All staff working at Chinatown Complex are being tested for COVID-19. To cast a wide net around the cases, and to contain the cluster quickly, persons who have logged in with SafeEntry to Chinatown Complex from 8 September to 11 September will be issued Health Risk Alerts (HRA). They are strongly encouraged to go for a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test as soon as possible and to reduce their social interactions for 14 days. 

Free testing

To uncover any community infection cases, MOH will also extend free COVID-19 testing to members of the public who had visited Chinatown Complex between 8 September and 11 September

A photo emerged online showing the fantastic four a group of matreps gathering at a lift lobby.

They were seen not wearing their masks and flashing gang signs to prove their allegiance to their gang.

They were presumably celebrating “baju baju friendship friendship”.
