SHOULD MOLESTORS AND PEEPING TOMS FACE MORE SEVERE PUNISHMENT?

There has been multiple cases reported to the police in regards to molest and peeping toms in the recent times. We went around and look for the views of netizens if the punishment for such offenses should be more serious.

“Perhaps it is time to consider a mandatory custodial sentence for outrage of modesty cases, including peeping toms and up-skirt photographers, regardless of age and education level. In the past, there is always this desire to give people a chance and hope they can be rehabilitated. But with such crimes on the rise, and technology making some of these crimes easier to commit without being detected, a harsher deterrent factor may be required.”

Quoted from Wo King Tre

“Personally, i think rotan should be reserved for the most horrific of crimes, eg. Rape, murder, drug trafficking etc.
But i agree that rotan can be considered for the repeat outrage of modesty offenders, or those committed against children. “

Should academic results be taken into consideration of the punishments given to sexual offenders?

Obviously no, this will imply that the justice system protects those that have better education and grades. This is only one scenario that has happened. This is only a personal achievement, its not like the guy save the world and his a super hero or something.

Netizens were angry over the judgement sentenced to the NUS student, lets hope no more of this nonsense happens anymore.
