ALMOST 1 MILLION M’SIANS WORKING IN S’PORE DUE TO BETTER PAY & CURRENCY

0

About 900,000 Malaysians are working in Singapore, with about one-third of them travelling here every day to work, according to The Sun Daily.

Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman, the president of the Malaysian Employers Federation, said that this is because of the better salary being offered and the high exchange rate.

Malaysians are also flocking to Singapore to work because of a better career progression path, as well as a more attractive lifestyle.

Syed said that the Malaysians get the chance for regional and international postings by working in advanced industries, and they get better incomes by working in Singapore.

He said that this was important due to the rising costs of goods and services in Malaysia.

Malaysian customer service employee Yuni, who is working in Singapore, told The Sun Daily that Singapore’s transportation system is efficient and reliable, unlike in Malaysia, where you won’t be able to know when the buses or train would arrive despite there being a schedule.

The outflow of Malaysians working overseas could result in Malaysia facing a manpower crunch, as Syed said the MEF is urging the Malaysia government to implement more advanced technologies to encourage the Malaysians to stay and work.

M’SIAN COMING TO S’PORE TO WORK, ASKS IF GEYLANG IS A SAFE PLACE TO STAY

0

Hello im a Malaysian Chinese coming to Singapore to work with my girlfriend and we’re looking for a master bedroom.

So i found a location that fits all our criteria, but its Central Imperial Condo, located at 3 lorong 14 geylang.

People have told me its a red light district area, and it may be dangerous, and some ppl will attempt to touch my gf when she’s returning home from work.

But some have told me geylang is a big area and not all parts are like that. So.. I really don’t know if i should take the room, i hope the locals can give some opinion. Thank you

Netizens’ comments

  • The room you’re looking at is indeed in the heart of the red light district. While the scene has all but fizzled out completely since Covid hit, Geylang is still a lively albeit messy neighbourhood with a lot of late night F&B and nightlife establishments, so do expect a lot of noise disturbance when you’re trying to sleep, as well as neighbours working nearby who are leaving home/coming back at all hours of the day and night.
  • I feel like the real worry is your gf worry you’ll be patronising some local services

FRIEND GETS TOGETHER WITH MEN TO USE THEIR BODIES & THINK NOTHING IS WRONG

0

so to start I had a friend ( call her D ) when i met her she would always complain about being single and how she’s not pretty enough but she is the average skinny, straight brown hair.

me on the other hand i am very much overweigh for my age and don’t have the greatest face so it’s always been hard to find someone who’s really does like me while D can have any guy she wants, sometime a random guys she’s never talked to asked her out ( we’ll call him B )

B was the average curly head dude but D really thought he was cute so she went out with him, during their relationship they would always hug and all that love-dovey stuff.

They had probably dated for about 4 months when all of the sudden D told me that she really didn’t feel love for him in the beginning of the relationship and only wanted him because he hugged her a lot and that she felt ok when he hugged her.

she told she always avoided his kisses because she didn’t like him like that. I immediately told her if she didn’t really love him why would she lead him on like that, she tried to defend herself with it’s okay because i haven’t had someone like me in awhile..

everyday i would ask when she would break up with him because i already felt bad for him ( for another thing me and him aren’t very close but we do talk when nobody is around and he tends to open up to me, One time D forced B to take her out and told me that he felt uncomfortable but he did it for her anyways ).

it made me mad until the day she broke up with him, i have never seen a man so heartbroken after that a big fight broke out between D and another one of our friends which ended up them being separate and me in the middle of it all they constantly asked me who i would drop and who i would stay with i avoid the question many times but thats it.

one day a friend asked my opinion on D i said how i felt with “she shouldn’t have treated that guy like that after everything he’s done for her that was kinda of a bitch move” well the friend told D and she lashed out at me with her other 2 friends, they told me to keep my mouth shut and to leave them alone ( i hadn’t talk to any of the girls and ended up separating myself from it all).

I said ok and left it at that, apparently D also talked bad on me saying i was the most annoying person and was the reason she and B broke up.

I started talking back and speaking my mind to her and that ended up with getting dirty looks for her two friends and i have tried to apologize since but she hasn’t accepted it because i apparently hurt her with saying she only uses men for their bodies.

WOMAN INFURIATED THAT FRIEND’S HUSBAND IS INTO ASIAN WOMEN

0

I (Early 30s) recently be friended with this woman and I really like her (mid 30s). We’re both local singaporeans and sharing a lot of friends and experience in common.

However her husband (white male, mid 50s) is sending out strange vibes which makes me very uncomfortable. She brings her husband everywhere so it’s inevitable to run into him. I have already turtled away from a couple invitations to hang out with them and I feel guilty to hide my true feelings from her.

Here’s the story. This white dude is almost 20 years older than her, a rich man holding a high position. They have married for 5 years.

The first time they came to my home for dinner, my husband told me he sensed some weird racist vibe from my friend’s husband. I didn’t sense anything that night because I was primarily talking to my friend, but I do remember my friend’s husband talked about getting into troubles at work because he was ME TOOed by a student. Red flag no 1, but I still trusted him at that time.

The other day I dropped by their house and he kept showing me cute Asian stuff, such as anime related things, stuffed animals….I said I’m not into this and he was surprised. And I noticed a book of his, The Power Broker (book about Robert Mosses) and I started to talk about the book, he didn’t engage in the conversation.

My friend told me her husband used to date only Asian girls, including his ex wife. I asked if she cares about it and her response is no, she thinks he’s the perfect man for her, mature and “silly” at the same time, established, caring and intelligent. I kept my mouth shut that day.

The next thing I sensed is that he doesn’t have many friends. The other day a common friend told me she (Asian female, in her 30s again) was asked to be the witness of his will. I was shocked that this friend only sees him probably several times a year and they’re not even that close. Can’t he find someone else?? He has lived almost half a century in this city. Why do you ask your wife’s friend to do such an important thing?

Then I went onto his Instagram to do some stalking and I found 25% of the accounts he follows are Asian females. That‘s the moment that I retrieved my “benefit of the doubts “ for him and started to feel infuriated.

I talked to a friend of mine about this situation and he pointed out that I’m married to a white man as well. Yes, that’s very true.

But I met my husband through work and we share similar interests and taste in music, cinema and art. We run a business together and I have never felt he was attracted to me because I am Asian. My husband and I both dated people from different countries and ethnicities background in the past as it’s very common living in our multi-racial society.

I never had any insecurity about my own relationship. And we’re also in the similar age so we’re navigating life together with similar mature level.

I personally can’t stand with stereotypes and I think it’s harmful for my Asian female community. Am I being too narrow minded? Should I accept my friend’s relationship as love can’t be judged? I’m very perplexed and most importantly, I have no courage to talk to her about my true feelings.

Please give me some advices, thank you!

BF IN HIS 30s STILL NEED MOTHER TO WAKE UP IN MIDDLE OF NIGHT TO COOK LIKE HIS MAID

0

I recently moved to another country with my boyfriend and we are in our 30s. I used to live alone before coming to this new country, but my bf always lived with his mom.

She is adorable but I have never agreed on the way she treated him: she cooked, clean, store his clothes in the wardrobe and make his bed (Every day).

He used to wake her at midnight to cook dinner if she did not leave something served and even prepare his office outfit when he had to go to the office. He always was sure about that ‘his mom lived with him’ since he paid the rent, but he never was in charge of any of the paperwork or functions of the house (even supermarket).

Since we moved together, is being a challenge. I am finishing a PhD, working in a multinational company and being in charge of the house facilities.

As I am used to be independent for me is not a big deal, but we have some improvements in our relationship since he is more and more involved in (his & his mom words) “woman’s tasks”. Notice: he always lived with his mom even his parents get divorced 10 years ago and she always treated him like this. No girlfriend before me.

Baby steps like going to the supermarket together or him making his own breakfast have been happening in the last 6 months and he has opened his mind and being more adult.

I am going on a 2 months trip and this the first time ever he is going to live alone and be independent in a daily live task.

I am very happy because I know this opportunity will be very good for him and even he is expecting it. But, the other night I heard his momma planning to move the same country as us and I saw this old experience back again in our lifestyle.

Of course he did not mention it to me as (from what I heard) is a 3-year plan, but I am expecting him to bring this into a conversation at any time. I know she is not going to live with us but of course will take any opportunity to join us at any event.

She is very intense and I am scared that she will try to be again ‘his maid ‘ and he will allow it. If he would ask I would say “no” and no reasons because I know he would not like my reasons (he never say any bad on her &his behavior) but even if he insist I am willing to not continue with the relationship because my mental health is in the game.

AUNTIE GETS CASH FROM SIBLINGS BUT RANTS ABOUT THEM FOR HELPING HER

0

I have a 50 y.o aunt on my dad’s side who likes to start arguments in the family. When I was little I thought she was great but as u grew up I started to see problems.

She moved back in with my grandma after having a kid ( the father is not in the picture) and soon they started having money problems.

Now some years later that has gotten worse, my parents offered to buy their house for them which they agreed to after a while. My parents paid off their loans and gave they extra cash that most people would have been able to live if for a long time.

When I started uni I sometimes took the same bus as my aunt. And every time I did she would rant about how she doesn’t have any money and how high my parents have made the rent ( even though they have set it extremely long so they don’t even make any profit from them living there). This would go on for a very long time and one day I snapped at her.

I told my aunt that she has no right bad talking about my parents or anyone and that she shouldn’t complain after everything my family has done for her. It’s not our problem she can’t handle money or take care of her son alone without having to ask for help from us. I told her that my parents weren’t the problem but she was.

This made her really upset and she started shut talking me on the spot and saying I’m a bad person and that my parents hasn’t raised me right. That’s when I said that “at least my parents raised me, you leave your son alone all the time with our grandma and doesn’t even care that he feels like helpless”

She would later on tell this to our whole family and most of them agree with me since I’m right but some says I’m evil for doing so and I shouldn’t have said anything about how she “ raise “ her son and her having money problems.

So am I the terrible person here?

SG HUSBAND CHEATING IN TURKEY, CAUGHT BY WIFE’S FRIEND WHO IS THERE

My friend’s husband is cheating on her and he even brought the girl on a holiday trip to Turkey…

I was in Istanbul when I saw them holding hands but didn’t bring that up as I can’t be sure if my friend had a prior agreement with the husband… I recognised the girl he is with since we have mutual friends.. Thereafter I tried asking her where the husband is at and she said he’s with a guy friend traveling in Turkey..

Few weeks later she told me that prior to the trip, they had quarrelled badly as he hasn’t even brought her on a honeymoon, and yet he is going on an extended holiday with his guy friend..They had several fights after he was back as well over this trip..

What should I do when I knew all these?? I don’t want to be involved but I wouldn’t want to see my friend being so upset over a guy who cheats on her in just the 1st year of marriage!!

How??

Here are what netizens think:

  • Aiyaa should’ve taken a photooo. Anyway I would tell her. What if the other lady has STDs
  • Do you have photos of them holding hands. By telling her verbally, It may backfire if she listen to her husband. If you have other evidence of her husband with the girl just send to her. The photos tell a thousand words… no need for you to tell your friend.
  • I would tell her the truth. And I would let her know.So 1st year of marriage can be annulment and not divorce. In case it affect your friendship which seldom would but at least you did your best.
  • Send the photo evidence to her mail by creating a fake id…she needs to know the truth before failing pregnant..That would affect the baby’s..
  • tell her the truth only if u have evidence eg going to that other woman (mutual friend)’s ig or whatever. evidence or not, this friend may choose to stop talking to u if she forgives her husband so just be prepared to lose a friend. at least u can sleep better.
  • What she don’t know won’t kill her…Remember that if you’re truly concern friend. She has enough domestic problems already.
  • Put yourself in her shoes; do you wish your friends to come clean with you or keep you in the dark?

The incident happened on 9 June at about 12.06 am, along Club Street, with the Honda Fit running over a red colour motorcycle that was parked on the side of the road.

The driver slowed down a bit after hitting the bike, before accelerating and hurriedly fleeing the scene of the crime.

Just lodge a traffic accident report. There are police cam along that stretch. Just give them the exact date and time location capture should be able to get the culprit . Police cam are now all in high definition

JEFF NG NOT HAPPY WITH FANS CHATTING ON STREAM, “YOU LEAVE OR I LEAVE”

Infamous scandal-ridden Cathay busker Jeff Ng, has yet another allegation leveled against him after a video emerged online showing him purportedly being unhappy with fans for chatting during an online live show.

Ng was apparently not happy with fans for chatting during his online performance, and threatened to leave the stream if they don’t leave.

Want to chat? Can, but wait until my broadcast ends.

He told the fans who were chatting, “it’s okay if you don’t want to leave, I’ll leave. After this song I will leave in one minute. I can rest also, very good.”

“I can forego my income from this, slowly, take your time (to chat), really, I’m okay with it.”

“But Niu Niu (one of the girls chatting) I’m not doing this on purpose, it’s just that just nice she (the other netizen chatting) is talking to you.”

“I know you usually come to listen to songs, listening to songs is okay but try not to chat during my songs.”

“If you want to chat? can. wait until my broadcast ends, then you can do whatever you want. It’s up to you, your choice.”

“I’m okay with it, I have no problem, I can just leave and forego the money from this stream. You can chat all you want but you are only sabo-ing others who want to listen to the songs.”

kthxbye

Ng then abruptly leaves the stream, saying that he won’t be taking money for the month, before telling his fans “bye bye”.
