A man shared his conversation with his friend who is working as a salesman. The man claims that he is earning big bucks from doing sales and going to upgrade his condominium to a bungalow soon.
Full Story:
My friend sibei hao lian, he comes tell me he earning over $20,000 a month from doing sales selling IT products at a local company.
He said that his commission alone is $16,000. Saying that his basic is also high at $4,000. He said that he mostly earns his money from selling computer-related stuff to MNCs.
He then told me his current 4 room condominium is too small for him even though he is living alone. He then said that he is rich so he wants to take a loan to upgrade to a Bungalow, eh if he so rich take what loan.
As it turns out there were stories about him liking to show off but deep down he has no money and he is in debt.
My other friend said that the hao lian man ask a loan of $200 recently and failed to return even after a month.
I realised a lot of people are superficial and only care about what people think about them on the outside and want to splurge or pretend to splurge so other’s will think highly of them.
You are what you are. If deep down you are a piece of “sai” no matter how you talk like you are a dragon you are still a piece of “sai”.
A netizen shared how he had a friend who took a loan of about $50k from his own mother under the pretext of offsetting the debts for his business loan.
However, he blew the entirety of the loan amount on prostitutes and drinks over a period of 6 months, neglecting his business loan debt.
Here is the story:
“Hi, please keep my identity anonymous.
I have a friend whom I shall name Aloysius for confidentiality reasons.
Aloysius was a friend of mine who was going through some cashflow problems with his business, and he had bad credit as well so he couldn’t get a loan from the bank.
So he went to his elderly mother and asked her for a loan instead, and she gave him her entire life savings of about $50k, hoping it would help him with his money problems.
At first, Aloysius was indeed planning to use the money to pay off a bit of his debts but because his business was failing, he took to drinking to drown his sorrows.
And he was also visiting prostitutes on the regular, spending hundreds and hundreds of the money that his mother loaned him on the girls.
His mother had faith that they money that she loaned him would be put to good use, despite his bad record with money.
But it never happened, within a period of 6 months, he spent the entire loan of $50,000 on prostitutes and alcohol.
The debts for his business loan remained unpaid, as he found himself in a deeper hole than before he even approached his mother for the loan.
And to make matters worse, he now has contracted an STD and because he blew all his money (his personal savings plus the money that he loaned from his mother), he has no money to treat his STD.
I really don’t know what to do to help him, and his elderly mother is sick and heartbroken.
A man shared a story on why is it best not to loan any of your friend’s money. In his story, he shared how an emergency loan that was taken from him ended up with his friend using it to enjoy luxury shopping in MBS.
Here is the story:
My friend asked me for a loan saying that he is in debt after his girlfriend took a loan from the bank to buy luxury bags and ended up unable to pay back the loan.
He said he needed a personal loan from me and he will pay me back the moment he get his salary. The loan amount was SGD$10,000. After 1 month, even after getting his salary, he started to reply to me with one or two words (feels like he is entertaining me).
I eventually called him about the loan and he said that he is still tight and can only return me another month later.
I bumped into him and his girlfriend at a restaurant in MBS. I went up to him and asked if he is so in need of money why is he dining at MBS.
His excuse was:
“Sentosa very far so I dine at Marina Bay Sands”
I flared up as he did not answer my question, I asked him why is he eating in an expensive restaurant at MBS when he is “tight”. He then said that his girlfriend treat him one, but the joke was… at the moment the waiter came back to his table with his debit card.
I recognized it as a debit card and not a credit card as I have the same one from POSB bank. Meaning, he has money in his bank and he is choosing to spend on luxury as a priority instead of paying me back who pity him of his “emergency”.
The joke was, on the empty seats, there were branded shopping bags!! He said that he will return to me soon and explain. He brushed me off quickly and leave the restaurant hastily.
I feel like I am becoming a human ATM even better than bank, no interest somemore. I will never loan anyone money ever again.
