BUS DRIVER BREAKS DOWN IN TEARS AFTER HEARING HUSBAND HAS PASSED AWAY

According to a video posted by Facebook page: News Updates 2.0, a bus driver was seen stopping on the road and was crying her heart out. A man noticed the driver and tried his to comfort him.

It’s very sad in times like this…can feel what she is going through…bless those guys trying their best to help her out

ANTI-VIRAL DRUG HELP TO REDUCE RECOVERY TIME FOR COVID-19

According to the media release, research done by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) had shown that the anti-viral drug remdesivir help to speed up recovery time for COVID-19 patients.

On the 01 May 2020, the United States had authorised the use of the anti-viral drug on the COVID-19 patients. The research found that patients who had injected remdesivir continuously for 10 days show a faster recovery time as compare to COVID-19 patients who are involved in a placebo clinical tests.

Remdesivir was said to be the most effective drug for patients who required supplemental oxygen. The result show a lower death rate recorded for patients compared to those in a placebo clinical tests.

NEW SHENG SIONG SCAM CIRCULATING ON WHATSAPP

According to the media release, a new Sheng Siong scam has been circulating on WhatsApp. A link will be sent through WhatsApp stating that “Sheng Siong stands in solidarity with the nation and giving away free $125 free coupon to everyone”.

Upon clicking on the link, it will require the victim to fill up a short survey, on the advertisement itself it will indicate that only 674 coupons are available for redemption and obviously this is fake. After finishing the survey, the page will require the victim to send its link to 20 others before they can claim the voucher.

According to Sheng Siong FB page, the messages were not sent by Sheng Siong. This is the third scam circuiting around using Sheng Siong name within a month. Sheng Siong would like to remind the members of the public not to fall for such scams.

In an event, if there is any enquiry, customers can call 6895-1888 to enquire during office hours. Alternately, customers can go to the nearest Sheng Siong Supermarket to check with the manager on duty.

HAWKSBILL TURTLE SPOTTED LAYING EGGS AT EAST COAST PARK

According to NParks, a Hawkbill tittle came on to the shores of Singapore to lay eggs earlier today.

Amazing!

Passerbys might not notice the turtle as anyone walks from behind might think that it is a rock.

The turtle digged a hole and laid its eggs peacefully without a crowd of people.

Hawksbill Turtles are critically endangered species

The turtle can live up to 50 years and lay up to 200 eggs in one go.

Today is World Turtle Day! And serendipitiously, a critically endangered Hawksbill Turtle came visiting at East Coast Park to lay its eggs. The Hawksbill is one of two species of marine turtles that can be found on our shores, and it may visit the same site to nest every few years. 🐢

FIRE AT SUNGEI KADUT WAY, SCDF ON SCENE TO FIGHT BIG FIRE

According to a Singapore Uncensored reader, a fire happened earlier at 6 Sungei Kadut way.

SCDF was on scene to put out the fire.

The incident happened on the 23rd May 2020 at around 6.15 PM, the last update as of 8.01 PM: firefighters are still there doing their best to put out the fire.

Multiple Police and firefighting vehicles were on scene.

“Abt 9 fire vehicles, 6police cars. many firefighters. It’s still burning. The warehouse is mainly shared by companies such as scrapped cars, bus repair workshop. “

TANJONG PAGAR ROOSTER WAIT FOR PEOPLE TO CROSS THE ROAD, SMART

HAND SANITIZER REPLACED WITH GREEN TEA @ WOODLANDS

According to the media release, a bottle of hand sanitizer placed in the lift for resident use was allegedly replaced by a bottle of green tea.

The incident happened on the 21 May 2020 at 10.45 am, at Block 895D Woodland Drive 50 multiple storey carpark.

According to a resident, the substance in the bottle is said to be green tea and not urine. There is no foul smell in the lift and an empty bottle of green tea was found in the lift.

The culprit was not spotted at the scene, this selfish and irresponsible act should not be tolerated. The hand sanitizer is meant to share among residents to keep their hand clean while using the lift. It is not for anyone to use it as a tool to prank others.

464 BIKES STOLEN FROM BIKE SHARING COMPANY DURING CB

According to the media release, a total of 464 bikes owned by a bike-sharing company (Anywheel) had been stolen during the circuit breaker. Many of these were found locked outside residential units.

According to the spokesman from the company, it is believed that more bikes were missing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, their staff were not able to resume their daily job such as the maintenance work on the bikes and re-locating those missing bikes.

For some user who chose cycling as a form of transport will tend to keep the bikes under their possession for future usage.

Such a selfish act should not be tolerated, If everyone is to keep the bike for themselves, it will defeat the purpose of bike-sharing. Anyone who is using the application, please return the bike after use.

642 NEW COVID-19 CASES. TOTAL INFECTED 31,068

There are 642 new Covid-19 cases confirmed as of May 23 and currently, the total cases infected stands at 31,068. Six Singaporeans/permanents residents were infected, while the remaining cases are foreign workers living in dormitories.

On Friday, Singapore also recorded the lowest number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care since the start of the circuit breaker period, with eight of the 798 patients still in hospital in critical condition in intensive care.

However, the average number of new daily community cases – which does not include foreign workers staying in dormitories – has risen from five cases two weeks ago to seven in the past week.

The Ministry of Health will release more details later in the day.

MANY RESTRICTION STILL IN PLACE AFTER PHASE ONE OF RE-OPENING

According to the media release, after the end of the circuit breaker on the 01 Jun 2020, many business and activities will resume in a slow and progressive manner.

The duration of phase 1 will last for at least 4 weeks, phase 2 will be for a few months with more measures uplifted. However, phase 3 will be in place until a vaccine or treatment for the virus is found.

In the financial industry, branches of most bank will remain closed only selected few were remain open. The 3 local banks had encouraged their customers to perform transactions online to minimise physical contact between people.

Locals are only allowed to visit your parents, grandparents, parents-in-law and grandparents-in-law provided that they are staying at a different location. 2 visitors are allowed at a time, and they must come from the same household.

However, visits to relatives at the nursing home is still suspended until further notices.

In an effort to reduces the numbers of cases in Singapore, according to the travel advisory, no travelling is allowed even for work purposes. Those Singaporean or Work pass-holder who leave the country after 27 Mar 2020 following the announcement of the travel advisory will have to pay the full sum for the treatment cost in an event if they are contacted with the virus.
