I grew up in a very rich family, with parents who took a very cavalier attitude towards my education. All I remember them telling me as I was growing up was that I just had to aim to pass.

Nevertheless, I was bright and I wormed my way into RGS. For some reason, I ended up doing really well in humanities (because I loved it a lot) and at no point did it occur to my parents that I was pursuing a track that would’ve been of very little practical use to me.

I graduated from Brown University summa cum laude with a degree in History. My dad’s business was destroyed in the past year (I think he’s in commodities although I was never really interested in what he did for a living). I honestly have no idea what to do with my degree now.

I’ve spent the last 3 months self-learning front-end development. Turns out learning programming to a useable level has been pretty easy for me. My first freelance job referred me to my current project, which pays me $2000 a week. But I honestly don’t like the work and I don’t see it as a long-term solution.

Is it a waste of time to work for an organization like MFA as a non-scholar? i.e Is there a glass ceiling for those outsides of the inner circle?

A photo had been circulating on Whatsapp with regards to a stewardess from a local airline doing extra services outside of flying.

The advertisement also stated what the stewardess is willing to do and her vital stats apart from the price she is charging.

We do not know if this is a scam or not but if it is really an airline staff, she will probably get into trouble for appearing in an advertisement like this donning the uniform.

The screenshot appears to be taken from a local adult forums that are full of “chickens”.

I love mi jiang kuei since I was young especially the 2 bottom corners.. however, at this stall at old airport road, I asked for the 2 bottom corners and was surprised when he told me “chose dont buy” .. I said fine n just walk off..

Anyway, there’re many good mi Jiang kuei in Singapore n for sure I will not patronize this stall anymore ..

According to the Police, A couple has been arrested after they were caught trying to pawn a few fake gold jewellery to pawnshops.

The couple who is in their early 30s were arrested on Friday (Sep 10). They cheated the pawnshops of over SGD$51,000 with their fake gold.

Between May 29 and August 10, police said that they received multiple reports from local pawnshops alleging that they had been defrauded of $51,000 by taking in phoney gold jewellery from their clients.

The couple was eventually arrested and 4 other accomplices were also charged.

If they are found guilty of abetment with conspiracy to cheat, they can be jailed up to a maximum of 10 years.

The Police said:

“The police would like to advise pawnshop owners to be vigilant against similar ruses, and to check and verify the identities of individuals who pawn items at their business premises, including their guarantors.”

“Pawnshop owners are also encouraged to carry out a detailed examination of the items to be pawned before making any transactions.”

Today (13 September), 57-year-old Chua Joo Kwang, a married father of two sons, was sentenced to seven months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of insulting the victim’s modesty and one act of criminal intimidation.

The story began over 10 years ago, the married man hired an escort and the escort eventually became his girlfriend. Both Chua and the 46-years-old lady Malaysians have lived in Singapore for a long time.

Chua hired the woman as an escort and paid her a SGD$2,500 a month, this lasted from 2011 to 2018.

But their relationship came to an end in 2018, Chua did not take kindly to the breakup and demanded the woman to return a year worth of allowance that was given to her which amounted to SGD$30,000.

The woman did not comply and Chua send tons of messages to harass the woman. He eventually send two photos of the woman which showed her performing a sex act with her mouth and another of her naked.

Chua said that he might send these photos to her family and friends.

The Police were eventually alerted and Chua’s home was raided the Police found 8 videos of them “in the act”. The videos were all filmed using a spy camera.
